    TORA TORA TO RELEASE THREE NEW RARITIES ALBUMS

    FnA Records is set to release three Tora Tora CDs featuring demo and previously unreleased material in December. The discs are titiled, 'Before & After', 'Miss B. Haven' The Unreleased Wild America Recordings' and 'Bombs Away The Unreleased Surprise Attack Recordings'.     HELIX: Two New Songs Available For Streaming - Oct. 11, 2009

     

    Canadian hard rockers HELIX will release their new album, "Vagabond Bones", in Canada on November 17 via Universal/Fontana. Singer Brian Vollmer has been collaborating with Sean Kelly (CRASH KELLY) on material for the CD, which was mixed by engineer Aaron Murray.

     

    Two songs from the album — "Vagabond Bones" and "Hung Over But Still Hanging In" — are available for streaming in the YouTube clips below. Vollmer says, "The soundtrack for 'Hung Over' [in the YouTube clip below] is not the finished master track. The mastered version is the one that has Russ 'Killer Dwarf' Russell singing a duet with me on the track."

    FIREFEST PRESS RELEASE OCTOBER 8:

     

    White Sister DVD - Straight from the Heart: Live at Firefest 2008 -

     

    Following an intense period of editing and re-editing the first ever White Sister DVD is done. The band and Transistor Pictures worked practically non-stop in order to get the final mixes and edits completed in time, and as a result the very first White Sister release since 1987 will be officially released at Firefest 6 on October 23 and 24.

     

    This, as always, will be a Limited Edition run, with only 750 pieces total available and as with all of the Firefest DVD series, it will not be re-printed. The package is a single DVD disk containing the entire White Sister performance from their triumphant return to live action at Firefest 5 and will be available only in PAL Region Free (0).

     

    An NTSC version will not be available. Considering the demand for this DVD it is STRONGLY advised that you Pre-Order your copy for 14.99 plus postage at www.thefirefest.com as Straight From The Heart will sell out very quickly. There will be a limited number of copies available at the merchandise desk at Firefest, so if you do intend to pick up a copy it is advisable to Pre-Order your copy to be 100% sure of getting your copy of one of the most anticipated DVD releases within the genre in many years.

    LEVERAGE: New Album Title, Track Listing Revealed; First Song Posted Online - Oct. 8, 2009

     

    Finnish melodic metal band LEVERAGE will release its third full-length album, "Circus Colossus", on November 4 via Spinefarm Records. A song from the CD, "Legions Of Invisible", is available for streaming on the group's MySpace page.

    LEVERAGE's second album, entitled "Blind Fire", was released in the U.S. on October 21, 2008 via Blistering Records USA, Inc. with Ryko distribution.

     

    LEVERAGE came out of nowhere in 2006, causing a stir with the release of its debut album, "Tides". The group's blend of modern metal sound and old-school, melody-based songwriting earned rave reviews from the media and created a fanbase both in Finland and throughout the rock community in many countries.

     

    "The warm welcome for 'Tides' was a pleasant surprise for us," the band's guitar player and main composer Tuomas Heikkinen previously said. "We got good radio airplay in Finland, even climbed to the charts, all before our very first gig with our own material! Since then, we’ve played throughout Finland at clubs and festivals. Our music has been described as melodic metal or melodic heavy rock, which is fine by us."

    D-A-D To Release 'The Overmuch Box' In November - Aug. 23, 2009

     

    Danish rockers D-A-D will release "The Overmuch Box" on November 16. According to the band, the box will contain "the ten albums so far released; the EP 'Standin' On The Never Never'; a CD — 'Behind the Seen' — with B-sides and a handful of unreleased songs; and last but not least, a 160-page long book about D-A-D and their music, illustrated with Stigge's [bassist Stig Pedersen] drawings, pictures from their own archives etc."
