  1. I can fuckin' relate to that one Nick. I heard fuckin' Winger's "Hungry" in a fuckin' Hardee's fast food joint not long ago... fuckin' weird place for a hard rock song, but then it was a restaurant and the fuckin' song IS called "Hungry" so maybe it was some of that fuckin' subliminal fuckin' advertising you read about...

  2. Armadillo Shell Pizza eh? Fuckin' UGH

My kid woke up at fuckin' quarter to six in the fuckin' morning today. You'd fuckin' think that since this is my fuckin' day off from fuckin' work he'd take fuckin' pity on his Dad and sleep the fuck in for a little fuckin' while but NOOOOOOOOO...

And of course, tomorrow fuckin' morning when I fuckin' have to be out the door with him by 7:30 to get him to fuckin' day care and me to fuckin' work, I won't be fuckin' able to PRY him outta fuckin' bed. Just you fuckin' watch. Happens every fuckin' week.

Fuck, I need to make some fuckin' coffee, fuckin' STAT!!!

  3. Ha, I got lucky cuz I was introduced to I.E. with the first album, just a little bit late. It was probably '95 or so and I found it at a Record & CD swap meet for two bucks. (! best two bucks I ever spent!) It was in a big milk crate full of death metal CDs, all still in the old long boxes, but I'd read about Iced Earth in a couple of zines so I figured I'd give them a shot. THE DARK SAGA came out a few months after that so I was well and truly hooked from then on. The rest is history!!

  4. I read somewhere that during Overkill's festival run last year, they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Feel The Fire" by playing the entire album at the top of the set... then doing the rest of the good stuff. I wish I could've seen that... my neck would probably still be sore today... !

Onslaught? COOL! With or without Steve Grimmett?

  5. Nice pick Stormspell... I understand that Jon Schaffer absolutely HATES that album, but I really dig it and I guess it's more of a cult item amongst some fans. When I saw I.E. on the Horror Show tour in 2002, BURNT OFFERINGS was the only album that wasn't represented in the set, they played stuff off of everything else but skipped BURNT OFFERINGS. I was a lil' disappointed

  6. Iced Earth have been one of my favorite bands for a LOOOOONG time so I figured I'd throw this question out to the H.H. 'banger community ... which is the best CD in their catalog? They've had a lot of different singers and musicians pass thru the ranks over the years, showcasing a lot of different styles and moods. My pick: SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, although THE GLORIOUS BURDEN is a close second and the under-rated BURNT OFFERINGS ranks highly as well.

By the way, before anybody sez "You forgot 'Days of Purgatory!', I left that one off the list since it is, essentially, a compilation album of previously released material, even if it *was* doctored up in the studio with new vocals. So there. It's my poll, I make the rules here. :)

  7. >>My neck gets sore just thinking about it...

Back in the olden days the original LP pressing of the first MC album came with a merchandise order sheet that included an "Official Metal Church Banger Battalions Neck Brace," a neck brace with the MC logo on it. Always wanted one of those. :)

  8. Here's another poll inspired by a chat Martinsane and I were having in another thread... which Metal Church studio album is your favorite? For me it's a toss up between the S/T debut and 1989's BLESSING IN DISGUISE, but in honor of the late David Wayne, the S/T gets the nod here. BEEEEEEEEYOOOOONNND.... THE...BLAAAAAAAACK!!! :)

  9. Nice choices guys. My personal "top three" Kill discs are FEEL THE FIRE, HORRORSCOPE and the aforementioned FROM THE UNDERGROUND AND BELOW (which got my vote today cuz it was spinning in my car stereo this AM), but truthfully you can't really go wrong with any of their stuff, can you?

I agree, by the way, "Kill Cherry" would be an excellent band name. Isn't that guy Jacob M. looking for a name for his band? We should pass the suggestion along. :)

  10. By the way, my vote goes to 1997's FROM THE UNDERGROUND AND BELOW but my favorite Overkill CD changes almost constantly (the only CD of theirs that I DON'T care for is I HEAR BLACK) so if you asked me tomorrow I would probably give you a different answer...

WELCOME TO THE GUTTER...WE'VE BEEN EXPECTING YOU!!! HAHAHAHAHAAA!

  11. My three-year-old is fucking addicted to these fucking old "Superman" cartoons from the 40s that I bought on fucking DVD at the fucking dollar store. They were fucking cool for a while but he's watched the same fucking one ten fucking times today already and I swear that if he doesn't fucking ask me to change the fucking DVD soon it's going right out the fucking window....
