  1. I have the music video of Wasted Rock Ranger. They just sit there in what looks like a dressing room or something and they play it acoustically. It was the first time I had ever heard it. Damn funny shit

A few weeks back, a friend of mine had come over and when he heard Wasted Rock Ranger, he said, "Why are you listening to a nursery rhyme?"

I'm sure they've ripped off some nursery rhyme & changed the lyrics for that song... always makes me laugh!

  2. there sure as hell is nothing wrong with stating Bon Jovi as you're all time fave, Dr Feelgood. :)

There definitely isn't, Geoff! They get some unnecessary rap, according to me.

The long explanation for why they're my favourite was just to counter your extremely short posts. :P

Just playin', mate! Have always found your comments to be interesting to read, and i always check your reviews on the band pages before getting an album!

    Cheers!

  3. At first, i thought this was impossible to answer. Atleast 10 names popped up in my head the moment i saw this thread. But then, it eventually boiled down to the band that introduced me to the world of rock n' roll.... Bon Jovi. Yes, Bon Jovi! I probably might be the only one to quote the band as a favourite, but i ain't hidin' my face!

There are various reasons for my choice. The first being, as MJ said about Def Leppard, if it weren't for Bon Jovi, i wouldn't have known about the other 80's bands at all.

Secondly, they have some brilliant albums, including two of the biggest for the genre - "Slippery When Wet" and "New Jersey". Their debut and follow-up are also exceptional, and then there's "Keep The Faith", another gem. I also love "These Days", for it has got me through some tough times and hence is a personal favourite, apart from the fact that the album portrays excellent musicianship.

I know that their last 3 studio albums have disappointed (though i have not listened to "Have A Nice Day" enough times to judge it and i did like moments from "Crush" and "Bounce"), but my choice remains. Six great albums plus sentimental value are enough reasons to make Bon Jovi my favourite band!

  4. Vish I tried everything.  The discs are unusable.  All four.  I'm sure it's not something you did purposely but after waiting so long for something and getting what I got it's a huge letdown.  I'm tired of dealing with it and consider the matter closed.  Hopefully others here have had or will have good trades with you and let people know about.  I didn't have a good experience and have (I feel) fairly explained the entire situation in my dealings with you.  Like I said though I consider this matter finished and I hope you enjoy everything I sent you.

Hey, Rick! I have met Vish a couple of times and have received a lot of great stuff from him. I had a similar experience with the first batch of cd's he gave me, many of the songs couldn't be read on my computer due to the CRC error. However, they got read on my mp3 player. If you have an mp3 player, i suggest you try the cd's on it. They just might work.

Also, he had burnt the cd's he gave me at around the same time as yours, and after that he has got his computer checked and has got a new cd/dvd writer as well, and whatever i have received from him since has worked just fine, so i guess the problem was with his cd writer. I know it's frustrating when you wait for something for 3 months and when it finally arrives it doesn't work, but if you have any patience left, i suggest you give Vish another chance! I met him the other day, and had a chat about this, and he'd be glad to send them again.

    Cheers!

    Yash

P.S. Just in case you are wondering why i'm vouching for him so much, well, all the stuff he gets from you guys is eventually going to be passed on to me. Selfless, ain't i?

  5. I recently made a Bon Jovi compilation consisting of demos, B-sides, and leftover tracks. Some really rocking tunes on here!

1.Takin' It Back (totally in your face!!!)

    2.Borderline (Slippery When Wet demo)

3.Outta Bounds (a kind of early '80's sound, reminds me of early Crue at times)

    4.Fields Of Fire (awesome ballad!!)

5.Edge Of A Broken Heart (why was this not on SWW, i'll never know)

6.We Rule The Night (another raw track...damn good!!)

7.I Just Want To Be Your Man (on hindsight, i don't like this one too much)

8.Why Aren't You Dead (tongue firmly in cheek here!)

9.The Fire Inside (another awesome track)

10.The Radio Saved My Life Tonight (one of my favourites)

    11.Outlaws Of Love (medium-paced rocker...great!)

12.Let's Make It Baby (pure s-e-x!!)

13.Starting All Over Again (Keep The Faith demo, once again great)

14.Good Guys Don't Always Wear White (scorcher!!)

15.Last Chance Train (quickly becoming one of my favourite ballads)

16.Growin' Up The Hard Way (New Jersey demo, quality sucks, good song)

17.Shut Up And Kiss Me (different, tongue-in-cheek)

Have been listenin' to it a lot these days. A much better collection of tracks as compared to anything they have released post-These Days.
