  1. This new Pretty Maids CD is amazing, I dare say this is the best album the's bands released! :beerbang:

Mmm, that's going a bit far..its not as Good as 'Jump The Gun' or 'Spooked', but it is right up there.

I listened to it twice now. It's a great album and it is their best since spooked IMO. for me the best tracks are the faster and harder stuff like the title track, One world one truth, Cielo drive and It comes at night.

But glen do you really think that Jump the gun and Spooked is better than the all time classics Red, hot and Heavy and Future world which IMO slaughters Jump and Spooked. :party421:

  2. Holy shitballs. Thanks to my c*ntmaggot of a car CD player I only got through 5 and 1/4 songs in my car before work, but wowser. This is incredible so far. '21 'Til I Die' pretty much blew my head off, 'Blame it on love' was amazing too and 'Road to Babylon' and 'My medicine' weren't far off. The opener was a good start too. The beginning of 'Children of the cross' sounds like it may be the bust tune yet, though. Can't wait to hear the rest of it. The production on this thing is absolutely amazing too.

ha, ha, still got the ballad yet mate.....you will cream everything when you hear that. I love it.

I find the ballad sounds like a 90's Aerosmith styled ballad. I prefer the one on the new Treat to this one. The first 4 tracks are where it's at with the new Crazy Lixx, the last 7 or so are all good but the start of this one is better than the first 4 tracks on the new Treat or the Reckless Love. I also love the 5th track Road To Babylon, but I'd pick Roar from Treat or Beautiful Bomb from Reckless Love anyday over it.

yuk that ballad on Treat is too sickly. Really like the Crazy Lixx ballad tho.

The second half of Crazy Lixx is weaker, but man does it grow with every listen. Lock Up Your Daughter is a killer hard rocker. The ballad is mighty fine. Voodoo Woman is a real grower. & bugger me if Witching Hour doesnt half kick some arse.

    Great album.

I can't understand whay ballads are so special. Maybe they were good to have in my youth when I was hunting women in the night Clubs. Nowadays I think they only take up valuable space in the albums. :P

By the way, Dreamin again - Rough Cutt and Noby's fool - Cinderella are fantastic songs.

  3. Haha, you guys are freakin' wildmen! IMO the second album slaughtered the debut in every single way. I am grateful and excited there is a new album out from these guys (I had assumed they broke up long ago), but I'm also severely disappointed that the mighty Fernando Garcia is no longer a part of the band. :(

As much as I like Garcia (especially in Victory) I think Soeterboek eats Garcia for dinner. :taz:

  4. Really looking forward to this one especially with Robert Soeterboek back at the helm :bananamac: ......wickedsensation-crystalized.jpg

"Crystallized" includes all the typical trademarks, which have made Wicked Sensation well known on their debut album, and flawlessly connects with the successes of the early days. Marked by the typical, strong production of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), songs ranging from the driving and catchy melodic rock tune to bluesy and soulful inflected songs are featured, all which characterize the typical sound of Wicked Sensation. Again, singer Robert Soeterboek demonstrates the utmost impressive qualities of his vocal performance. Furthermore, "Crystallized" also includes a guest appearance by no other than Helloween's singer Andi Deris. With the high potential hit record "My Turn To Fly", Deris together with Robert gives this song a "certain something" to let this one for sure become a catchy hit track. Even Dutch guitarist Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One) involved himself to give the album a real rock classic with "Gimme The Night", as well as keyboarder Eric Ragno (Graham Bonnet) contributed keys on "Give It Up".

"Crystallized" impresses with a variety of first class songs, which definitely have a convincing impact. Due to the distinctive guitar playing and songwriting of Michael Klein together as a team with Robert Soeterboek and Dennis Ward, this new Wicked Sensation album will most certainly be the surprise of 2010!

Sounds promising. I really loved the debut which was amazing IMO. The second album wasn't as good, especially since Robert Soeterboek was out of the picture. He is great singer. :taz:

  5. I recommend you all to order the Japanese release of the Heat album Freedom Rock. It is an earlier release date (21th of april) and it has the terrific bonus track Tonight. It is one of their best songs ever, maybe the best IMO. Only this song is worth the extra money.

You can pre-order it at CDjapan which I think is a great store (see link below).

It is really a must if you like Heat. I got tears in my eyes and the the hair on my back became like the hair on a punk rocker. You can download it here.

  6. Can I get a f*ck yeah? I was lucky enough to sneak in a very loud advanced listen this morning and this is gold. I am yet to hear Treat, Crazy Lixx or Ratt yet, so this destroys everything else I have heard this year so far. So memorable it is, I can even do a quick little run through of my initial thoughts:

Armageddon ; Great hard rocking opening tune, with a HUGE chorus. A real awesome beginning.

So Alive ; Even better. One of the highlights of the CD. HUGE hard rocker with a big catchy chorus.

Generation Wild ; Funnily enough, as much as I agree that this is a killer tune, it's actually one of the least impressive on the CD. Still, a great tune.

Rebel ; F*ck me you will have to hold your head in place when you play this one because the riff will absolutely tear you apart. One of the best straight up hard rock riff driven monster songs I've heard in ages.

Save Her ; Splendid! Mid-tempo gem which is just brilliant. Not quite what you'd expect from Crashdiet, but probably my favourite song on the CD. Very melodic too.

Down With the Dust ; another absolute monster hard rocker. By now you will understand the riffs are just making this album explosive.

Native Nature ; and again. This is the weakest song on the CD, no doubt, but oh my f*cking christ, the riff in the verses is just amazing. Shame about the pretty average chorus though. Still, great track.

Chemical ; Wow do they save this one. When the first chorus hits I have to admit I wrote the song off, then it plodded along to the 2nd verse and then, the 2nd, proper chorus hits and it's just brilliant. Hugely melodic and really brings this song home. Ends up being a great track.

Bound to Fall ; one last monster hard rocker near the end of the disc, this is another album highlight. Excellent.

Beautiful Pain ; nice touch. I admit I did want a ballad from this album and I'm glad to see they deliver a very nice one. Not overly amazing, but extremely good nevertheless. Nice way to round up the album.

So there's my initial thoughts. Overall, I think this is their best, most consistent album. The production job is outstanding and leaves the last album for dead. The riffs across this whole thing are just mind-blowing and they've pretty much made it impossible for any hard rock fan not to love this CD. 2010 Top 5 finisher for sure, no doubt about it. New vocalist is great too, sounds like he's been there since the start.

I must say that I'm totally agree with Geoff again. It's really their finest work so far. It's sad in a way that the two songs from Sweden Rock cd apart from Generation wild ONe of a kind and fear control are not on the album. They are two smash hits!!! :party421:

  7. I regret to report that I was pretty unimpressed with this one. I found the debut to be pretty average but promising, with a few good tracks that I thought the band could build upon for a great second album. Unfortunately I think this is the weaker of the two albums, which is a little unfortunate considering only about 2-3 songs stood out for me on the debut. The 'High enough' cover was easily my favourite song on the new disc... :(

I'm be behind Geoff on this one. It's not bad but nothing that really stands out compared to other german bands in this genre. And the singer doesn't help with his german accent. He kind of enoys me. :(

  8. From their website:

"The new Vanden Plas album "The Seraphic Clockwork" will be released on 04 June 2010 by Frontiers Records. The 8 songs were recorded at Bazement Studio by engineer Markus Teske and produced by the band.

The story of the concept album was written by Andy Kuntz and tells about a journey in time. The protagonist, who lives in 16th century Rome, comes under the spell of an Old Testament prophecy. He travels back to Jerusalem in the year 33 anno Domini where he must face his God-given destiny.

Stephan Lill about the new album: "I think that my preference for heavier bands shines through more than ever before. Heavy riffs, elaborate keyboard and orchestra arrangements plus catchy hook lines come together in a perfect symbiosis which marks Vanden Plas' characteristic style. I feel that we were much more adventurous on The Seraphic Clockwork than ever before."

This looks awesome for those who like the band. I'm probably in the minority if not alone in this thought, but I figured I'd post it anyway. I cannot wait!!

Chris, you're definitely not alone. I remember buying the Colour temple when it was released in 95. A great album. Less progressive than the latter albums but I like the some of the newer albums as well but not as much as the Colour temple album. Beyond daylight was also really good.

  9. Reb Slaughters Kirk IMO.

I must agree with Reb. Kirk is fairly rubbish. Just watch the video when Metallica records the black album. Rob Rock tells to play a certain piece but he can't manage to do it. Rock tells him to return when he has practiced and know how to play it.

But I must say Metallica is a great band, Especially the early albums and Kirk Hammet needs to be in there I think because he is just KIRK.
