So is that D2 gig Friday April 30 or the following Friday May 7?
April 30
-
Where did you find out D2 is playing an adult venue? Is that a confirmed date? Any chance they'll come a little further west to Minneapolis? I've never seen them live yet but if I can squeeze out one more roadtrip D2 would be the one for me especially if they are playing in a smaller club setting.
From Andrew via his website:
LA Guns and Danger Danger are playing the Friday night at some sleaze ball....a couple of guest porn stars and "adult entertainment" also. Not my market, but D2 can't play same city for 2 different promoters in one weekend.
But on the Friday night it will be my VIP Ticket Holder acoustic night. VIP tickets are the premium price ticket I was speaking of....and the acoustic show will feature acts not on either Saturday or Sunday.
So my event is potentially 2.5 days long....
Depending on venue and some names confirming availability.

Does anyone know anything about this band? Used to have it on cassette. Would like to find it on CD, or worst case - some MP3s...
Any help would be appreciated....
-
I don't find it catchy at all.....pales in comparison to the previous 2.
-
If we're on the bill I'll definitely be there!
If not, probably not so likely.
Is there a chance you might be on the bill?
From what I'm hearing....a great possibility.
D2 is playing an 'adult entertainment' venue that friday. And from what *I* gather - D2 isn't 'allowed' to play for 2 different promoters in the same city....or some shit like that.

Brother is such the better CD.....Kelly's voice smokes Robert's. C'mon now.....all you people are wackadoos....
-
I'm hoping to go to this
I guess you are the only one.....

How many of you will be attending Andrew's Melodic Rock Fest II, in Chicago first weekend of may?
I've asked him to contact John Kivel, or Mr. Fry in order to try and pencil in farcry and Tango Down for that weekend. i also asked to contact the D2 boys. Saw Farcry and D2 in Chicopee, Ma this past fall.....
Just looking for a roll call.....

I listened to 101 South, and i gotta say that I'd be asking for my money back. How boring is this shit?! Any truth to the rumor that the original title was going to be, 'Snoozefest'?
-
No, Can't say that I do...however - I must say that Voss sounds an AWFUL lot like Tommy Heart.
-
Yep, already heard, and have 4 tracks from this EP.
Starting Over
Thye Good Stuff
Miss Me
The World We Knew
I'm guessing these are on the upcoming EP. Awesome stuff nonetheless.

I was thinking....is there anyway to add a cross-referencing feature like release date for looking up eras?
Like say I was interested in looking up bands that were releasing stuff from '89-'92...Would there be anyway to plug that in somewhere and get a list of bands? And if not, could one be added?
Just a thought....

'Real Thing' of the latest is a KILLER track.....and 'Queen of the Broken Hearts' from back in the day is top notch.
-
I can tolerate 5 songs. 4 of which are very Joureyesque:
Brothers in Arms ( very un-journey)
My Everything
Invincible
One Love
If I Fall
Overall I'd give the Cd a rating of 70%.....

If this CD gets album of the year it'll be due to the aftermath of the journey debacle. Just like Arnel & co. his rags to riches story trumps the quality of 'Revelation'. The story will become bigger than the music.
Sorry mate, don't get that all. I actually like 'Revelation' but aside from that I have no time for Journey and couldn't care less about them or what happens concerning them. All that speaks to me is the music. The album I will pick for "album of the year" will be the one with the best songs on it, plain and simply.
Yep, and I'm a big Journey fan and I have no idea that there is a 'rags to riches' story around Pineda? The only things I know about him are: 1. That Schon found him from a Youtube clip, and 2. That he's a staggeringly good vocalist who's been partly responsible for one of Journey's best albums in donkey's years.
Those are the only stories for me.
P.s. I NEED to hear this W.E.T album as I need something to save this year (in the AOR/MHR genre) for me....
Well, I've got all the tracks if you want to sample the full tracks before you buy....

No way...that was over a year ago...this album just kicks ass!
Faith in Fire is better than any track on that CD....point blank.

Ok...first off the show was epic. Pete was smokng on guitar, Mark sang his ass off. Mark has an extremely powerful voice. I didn't get to talk to Blue Charvel llike I had hoped, oh well. Dude, you rocked. The lighting wasn't conducive to taking pictures with my limited camera. All the pictures I took were blurry and washed out! F.UCK!
Fine Line, Kick Me Down, and Heaven were the highlights for me....
Danger Danger blew the house down. Of course Ted played up to all the young(and old) ladies who had feathered their way to the front of the stage. Ted kept grabbing people's cameras and snapping photos of himself, Bruno and Rob while playing. I should have went to the front myself!
At one point Ted came down into the crowd while singing, walked up to me, put his arm around me and posed for a picture....my friend didn't know how to work my camera and instead of snapping one, he pressed the off button! Epic FAIL!
As far the setlist goes...I'm not sure of the order, but:
Boys Will Be Boys
Monkey Business
Bang Bang
Don't Walk Away
I Still Think About You
When She's Good.....
Rock America
Under the Gun
Naughty Naughty
Beat the Bullet
Crazy Nites
Don't Blame it On Love
That's What I'm Talking About
They stayed about an hour afterward to sign stuff and pose for pictures....it was a great time.
No offense, but I didn't really care for Emerald Monkey.

I only wish. Unfortunately I blew my wad already seeing the Cult in LA (Aug) and then Steel Panther in Vegas (Sept). I'm hoping I have one more good road trip in me and I plan on it being a trek to the east coast to see D2 in a small venue like the one tonight. Guess I'll have to wait until they line up dates for 2010 (hopefully).
Have a great time if you're going and let us know how the show is including a set list if you can.
Sure thing. Sorry you can't make it. I'll have my camera in full photog mode(if they will allow it), and I hope to get one with the band. Setlist will follow.
-
Ok, who's going to the show tonight? I'm tired of asking this question....
-
Anybody going to the Oct 16th show in Chicopee, Ma.?
-
While i agree that his SOLO albums are pretty 'safe'....Redrum smokes anything JH has done since he's left....
-
Jaded Heart jumped the shark after Bormann left....and you are right, Dan....sounds like Eurometal now.
With a classic like, 'Journey Will Never End', how can these guys be taken seriously now?????
-
I have 7 of the tracks already....not impressed. More heavy than melodic. Sounds like they are going back to S/T days....
5 out of 10, so far.
