John Wyndham's 'Day Of The Triffids' ...
-
I enjoyed 'Y The Last Man', although I agree that the ending was a bit lame ...
Lobo, Sandman (along with the 'Death' spin-offs), Hellblazer and Marshall Law are all faves ... I also like(d) Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Halo Jones and Strontium Dog (from 2000AD), along with Charley's War and Johnny Red (from Battle-Action) ... I started reading Preacher when it was first published, but I got fed up with Steve Dillon's artwork (I've never been a HUGE fan of his), and The Invisibles left me cold ....

I didn't go to school with anyone famous, but my High School has, over the years, churned out:
Robin Trower
Viv Stanshall (of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band)
Mark Foster (the swimmer)
John Lloyd (the tennis player)

I do like Top Ten lists, so here's a bump for this thread.
This is my ‘dinner party’ list, i.e. the ideal ten guests I’d have round the table, alive or dead, assuming no language barrier (could be an interesting one for others to have a go at too...):
-
Sir Francis Walsingham
-
Christopher Walken
-
Marvin Hagler
-
Martin Luther King
-
JS Bach
-
Richard Dawkins
-
Chuck Schuldiner
-
Alan Brooke (aka Alanbrooke)
-
Phil Lynott
-
George Cadbury
Bach?
Dawkins?
Ah, the boy Eagle has a lot of time for Mr Dawkins ... I'm still struggling to read one of his books (Dawkins', not JE's) ... I can see where he's coming from, but his writing style is diabolical ...
My 10 guests (as of right now, but subject to change at any given moment) ...
Spike Milligan
Terry Pratchett
Michael J Fox
Angelina Jolie
Oskar Schindler
Dara O'Briain
Paul Brickhill
Douglas Adams
Toyah Willcox
Tom Baker
-
Sir Francis Walsingham
-
The Pros And CONs Of Hitch-Hiking - Roger Waters
-
UP On The Catwalk - Simple Minds
-
How about the two versions of Sabbath?
Heaven and Hell's album was SUPERB, but the newie from three quarters of the 'classic' line up is HUGELY disappointing ...
