I recently picked up Extinct Instinct, Clone, Critical Mass (with the bonus disc) and Subsurface in a local charity shop - I'd heard the name, but not heard much of their music ... Subsurface is an absolute cracker!

I'm steadily working my way through Lee Child's 'Jack Reacher' novels ... question: who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have Tom Cruise play Jack Reacher?

"Doomsday" (2008) 30 years after a killer virus devastates Britain and forces Scotland to become a quarantined wasteland, a team is sent into the hot zone in hopes of discovering a cure. Unfortunately they will have to deal with opposing clans of barbaric survivors to get to it.
Neil ("The Descent") Marshall's action packed post apocalypse epic doesn't have an original bone in its body (it borrows heavily from "Escape From New York" and the "Mad Max" films to name just a few) but it's a hyper violent, gory fun ride anyway.
I loved this film ... wonderfully mindless fun!

Apparently, most of the 'public vote' had the Poles coming in (fnarr!) at number one ... I can't imagine why
As for Conchita Wurst ... when not in drag, s/he goes by the name of Thomas ... apparently, he was in some sort of boy band a few years back. Yes, he's a drag act ... yes, he's stolen his 'act' from the Blackadder episode where Baldrick dresses as a bridesmaid ("Like the beard, bridesmaid - gives me something to hang on to!") ... but, hey, the song wasn't bad ... and s/he had the balls (pardon the pun) to get up on stage in front of millions ...
