KISS for sure, but I'd go with,
Animalize
Asylum
Crazy Nights
Hot in the Shade
Revenge
"Animalize" is the possible weak link, but I stand by it.
I would replace Animalize with Carnival of Souls for my run of five Kiss albums.

Agreed...still good though...but they hit the groove from Amber onwards
I have Skyline ranked behind the last 4 releases as well, but still think it's great. Where do you fall on the track Spanish Ghosts?

Voice of Reason is honestly one of my favourite albums.
I like Voice Of Reason as well, Blue and Candle are stand out tracks.

Dokken is another popular band that never connected for me, I don't like a single song. Same goes for Queensryche.

I liked Detonator but their back catalog never clicked for me.

I love the 3 post Mac albums, so similar to Harem Scarem they are currently on an 8 album run for me.

I always liked the For Those About To Rock and Flick Of The Switch albums.

For me personally I could never get into Journey or Night Ranger, but I do agree with Harem Scarem who are currently on an eight album run. Other ones that work for me are
Avantasia
Edguy
Epica
The Night Flight Orchestra
Threshold
Kamelot
Lordi

This view sounds similar to the pointless Lee Roth vs Hagar fan battles. It stops people from enjoying new music.
Both the Roth era and the Hagar era of Van Halen were very successful, so I don't think the Roth vs Hagar discussions stopped anyone from enjoying the music.
Based on any comments I've seen, the majority of the people agree that Erik destroys Kenny vocally; but said people are still going to give the new H.e.a.t album a chance. Whether or not they can stop themselves form thinking this song would've been so much better with Erik on vocals is another matter. Anytime a band changes vocalists you are gonna get a discussion on it, but I think people will make up their on own minds based on the music itself not based on one's opinion.

There's nothing else on the radar for me for Q2. I got Shinedown in July and Nordic Union in August. Still waiting on a firm release date for the new albums from Avantasia, Threshold, Kamelot, and Blind Guardian.
1. Battle Beast - Circus Of Doom
2. Ghost - Impera
3. Skillet - Dominion
4. Slash - 4
5. Ronnie Atkins - Make It Count

Erik's change of scenery is basically gonna result in two average albums. His presence in Skid Row will elevate the mediocre material to average; and his absence in H.e.a.t will bring that material down to average.
Neither the 2 new H.e.a.t songs nor the 1 new Skid Row song are up to the level of the H.e.a.t albums with Erik.

I love a good ballad, and I thought the last few Stryper albums sounded great. I just really struggle with Sweet's vocals.
-
Well that was disappointing, the album is fuckin' terrible. A mostly plodding bore fest, mixed in with a shitty acoustic ballad, and a cringe piano ballad.

New album is out tomorrow.

The War Has Begun / My Fear And My Faith
Hypocrisy / Because Of Us
Wide Awake / It Burns
Every Heartbeat / Walk Me Through The Fire
When Death Is Calling / New Life Begins
21 Guns / The Final War
Falling / Breathtaking
The Other Side / Rock's Still Rolling
Point Of No Return / Die Together
True Love Awaits You / The Best Thing I Never Had
Go / Outrun You

Yea, I've known this for awhile as well about why japan gets the bonus tracks. Bon Jovi's Keep The Faith got me started buying the japan versions way back when.
I do think the bonus track is basically a non issue now though, probably due to streaming. Epica and The Night Flight Orchestra had a string of releases with a proper japan bonus track, until recently with their respective 2021 releases.

A Frontiers release I'm looking forward to, weird. I have a hunch this will be the best of the 3.

From Frontiers:
After Durbin's well received debut album (under the moniker "Durbin"), "The Beast Awakens", James was eager to explore more opportunities to create heavy metal music within the label family.
was it well received though?
Durbin had been doing deep dives into the label's past releases and was eager to work with Alessandro Del Vecchio on the Cleanbreak album.
really he had to do a deep dive to discover a release with adv?
While the concept of record labels putting together 'supergroups' has been around for decades, Frontiers Music Srl has, over the course of the past decade or so, really established a thoughtful, enthusiastic approach to the practice.
this part seems like a direct response to Andrew's comment about them using a random generator to come with these line ups.
Revolution Saints, The End Machine, Black Swan, Sweet & Lynch, Sunbomb, W.E.T., and Nordic Union are just a few examples of bands that have landed with great acclaim.
I think with the exception of Revolution Saints, the rest of these bands listed write their own material without any help from adv. I only like W.e.t and Nordic Union so not sure about the writing on the rest of them.
The artists get to enjoy the opportunity to write and create music outside of the confines of their 'day job' and fans get the opportunity to hear even more new music from their favorite artists.
I think it ends up being an opportunity for adv on most of these random band projects.
Guest:
Alessandro Del Vecchio - Co-writer, Keyboards, Background Vocals
LOLAlbum cover is shit with zero thought, just like the recent Skills, and Iconic album covers. I honestly don't think I can even bother listening to this new adv penned song, I just can't with this label any more, I just can't.

great song from a great album. Unfortunately fell off a cliff and never recovered after this release.

what an uninspiring line up, just need confirmation that adv is involved.

this is even worse than that big dump project that is also on frontiers.
-
I still like zero journey songs.

I found the song to be lacking in the hook/melody department.

A couple more lists with a NFO/Lordi combo. Nice.
Are you guys feeling Soilwork at all? I highly recommend their Verkligheten album.

I was originally out on this with Sweet involved as I figured his vocals would ruin it for me; so it's good to hear James is doing the vocals. Sweet/Hoekstra writing the songs should work in the albums favor as well.
I don't understand why Sweet needs ADV to help produce it though; and ADV only has one vocal melody so hopefully it's only half of that melody on one song. Frontiers is truly fucked in the head when it comes to ADV, and having him have some kind of credit on 85% of their albums.

Absolutely love Jorn on the Avantasia albums, but haven't cared for anything else he's done. I used to like the Allen/Lande albums but I'm so bored with Karlsson's sound I don't listen to them anymore.
Great album runs of 5 or more in a row

I love the track as well, Glen said he didn't like it which I thought was weird.
