Kix easily. Ron Keel's voice annoys me. Helix is OK, but not great.

I love DBT. I've only seen them once but it was a great show. Favorite albums include Southern Rock Opera, Decoration Day, and The Dirty South. I haven't even got around to their two newest ones!

Detroit Rock City.
Yep, still funny.

Lipstixx 'n' Bulletz - Bang Your Head

Oh Liam, what hast thou done? The A-Team was one thing, but this?
-
anyone remember this movie with a young Dian Lane? sweet!!!!
I saw that one in the theater when I was 13!
Would bands like Pure Prairie League, Poco, Ambrosia and the like fit this category?

The correct answer is Motley Crue.
Of course.

Billy Squier's "Don't Say No" is another good one from '81.

I voted for Journey just because I used to play that one over and over in those days.
I'd like to point out one major exclusion: April Wine - Nature of the Beast.
Now that was a great album!

American Hi-Fi - s/t
Red Planet - Let's Degenerate
-
AFI - Crash Love
American Hi-Fi - Fight the Frequency
I'd kinda lost track of American Hi-Fi but I've been listening to that newest album on YouTube and it's really good.

I've always liked this cover:
-
Underneath the Sky - Oasis

I really like this band. The singer has a much better voice than the girl in Flyleaf IMO.
Geoff, have you heard the band The Letter Black? Another good female-fronted Christian rock band.
-
Three stops in Oklahoma and none of them are near me. That is unbelievable.
I'd heard about the Whitesnake show in Concho but didn't really care to see 'em. But Kix is one of my favorites and if they're playing I just might have to go. The Lucky Star Casino is only about a 45 minute drive from here.

ZUUL - "Out Of Time"
That's a great album of NWOBHM-ish REAL METAL. I'd also recommend the Chicago band High Spirits if you like that sort of music. They're a bit more on the "rock" side of things, but their ten-song demo sounds like it could have been recorded in 1981:

The Stereo - No Traffic
Haven't listened to this one in quite a while:

I picked this up a few months ago and still spin it regularly. Great songs with hooks galore. Hope to hear more from them in the near future!
What CDs did you buy this week?
