Well, the song is called "No Other Love" and one version was recorded by Whitecross but that's not the version in the video.
-
I like it. A little heavy on the "whoa whoa" stuff but I like it.
-
Been listening to this one a lot the last couple days. To me, it follows on perfectly from "Ghost of Graceland", an album I loved. IMHO, if you like that one, you'll like this one as well. Highly recommended.

It's nice to hear Erik say that though he obviously was singing a different tune (har har) back when the album was released. While it's not terrible, I definitely think this album was a misstep and it's great to hear that the band recognizes that.

Eye of the Tiger cover
Uh...it doesn't sound bad. Not as raw as the original and I think that hurts this version.
But...if you're gonna do a cover, get the lyrics right. "It's the eye of the tiger, it's the dream of the fight?" Uh... no.

This is way, way better than I would have expected. Still prefer the original and especially the "Telephone Stomp Mix" of the original but this one is pretty good.

Not liking their cover of "Africa" but am definitely wanting to hear the rest of these. Certainly an interesting collection of covers - Hardline, Queensryche, Toto, Survivor... some really great source material. We'll see how it turns out.

Well, if you liked the first album, these will please you, I think. Can't wait for the full album!

If this was anyone NOT named Steve Perry you'd all be slagging it the same as me... don't lie.
Yeah, I'm right there with you. These are not good.

Sweet! I was just listening to "Connected" the other night wondering if we'd get another album from these guys.
-
This is a nice enough tune but...to be brutally frank...would be a throwaway track with any other name attached to it. Don't get me wrong - I'm super stoked to hear a new Steve Perry solo album but this track doesn't really set my ears on fire.

Palace, First Signal , and Find Me still to come for 2018?! Very good news.
I had missed the Find Me news.
This is definitely fabulous news. Now all I need are new albums from Angels or Kings and The Magnificent...

Admirable effort, but all in all I found it very forgettable. Quite "thin" in overall sound too. On the plus side, from time to time it actually reminded me of Cry Wolf... which isn't a bad comparison. I think it was mostly the vocals every now and then reminded me of that chap.
Yeah, very generic and sounds like it was recorded on somebody's portable tape recorder.

according to a post by Terrys wife on Facebook, that has since been deleted, Terry was not even aware he was fired until he saw the press release
Terry's Facebook post, which has not been deleted, said the exact same thing.
I'm a fan of Terry's work outside of GW and he seems like a nice enough guy. I am hopeful that this means we get a new XYZ album

The two tracks I just listened to sound good. Definitely want to check out the full album when it's released.
-
I'm digging the new one.

This is a killer album. Just one great track after another. I somehow missed it on released in 2017 and only heard about it via the "Best of 2017" list from HH. Didn't know what I was missing! Great, great stuff!
Andrew, tell Don to go record some more solo stuff -
That is a great song. Can't wait to hear the rest!

I was just listening to Ghost of Graceland today. These lads are definitely not ready to retire.
No kidding. That album is really, really good.

I like the most recent FM album - two tracks on there I like a lot.
I like this track. It's solid.
I hate the band name, LOL. "Groundbreaker"? OK, maybe if you're music is at all unique. Otherwise...
-
Having listened to the whole album more, only the title track really stands out for me. It's a solid effort, one I certainly enjoy listening to, but not an all-timer for me. The title track, however, is fantastic. I definitely like it more than I did a month ago now that I've had a few more listens.

Jeez that's a song, if they continue to produce stuff like this they should disappear into the great unknown and never come back .
I'm with you. That song is terrible.

I absolutely disagree with this comment. I've been through this about 5-10 times and every track is great with some very clever hooks.
There are at least 6 absolute gems which compare to anything on back albums.
Yeah, I'm gonna stand by my comment. Nothing special.
And that radio intro is really annoying.

Neither song is leaping off the page at me but they're both pretty good. Definitely want to hear more.
