  1. Lillian Axe : Psychoschizophrenia Cinderella : Still Climbing
  2. Riot - Rock City (This will be post #25 for me, so I guess I now old enough to enter the trades thread)
  3. This may be impossible for me. I was born in the 1960's and my older sisters collected 45 RPM singles. I grew up listening to those records first and forming early opions as to what I liked and didn't like. When I began to buy albums in the 70's the first group that I really focused on and considered my faves were the Beatles. Although they had only disbanded a few years before I was considered "square" by some others for not following current trends I guess. From there I got into the Kinks, Stones and then Creedence. I really liked Queen and Bad Company although I could never have dreamed of Paul Rodgers joining Queen! The sound of British artists playing blues-based rock was really shaping my taste and I began discovering old blues and folk music artists but then I heard Lynyrd Skynyrd and became hooked. After the plane crash, Blackfoot was the best for me. Things were getting heavier as I discovered AC/DC and Scorpions and then Def Leppard and Iron Maiden. Y&T jumped to the top of my list for awhile. In the mid-80's bar bands seemed to stop playing covers. Their attitude was like "we're the best thing to ever come along and we don't take requests so like it or leave it." The drinking age was raised from 18 to 21 and the crowds thinned out. Since then I've tried to support my old favorites and discover new music that I like. It's rare that I come across music that I really like but when I do I get excited but I know that disaster could strike at any time (Ronnie Van Zant, Bon Scott and Frank Starr all died soon after I became a fan). Alot of what is new to me was released long ago but had been overlooked so I am always interested in finding something "new" (I am just discovering Funny Money and Hardline). I don't consider myself to be fickle because I still love all of the music that I ever did. Because of their influence on shaping my taste in music, LYNYRD SKYNYRD is my favourite band ever.
  4. I liked that CD and thought it very underrated. My original copy developed specks(?) where the metal coating flaked off of the plastic. I kept it in the same clean, dry environment as my others and it wasn't my oldest so I guess that it was just defective. It looked like it had some horrible disease.
  5. Sorry, that last reply was supposed to be to Blue Charvel's post, not Geoff's. I still make the mistake of hitting the reply button that I think of as the top of the post that is really the bottom of the previous one.
  6. No worries mate... someone had to give 'em at least one vote. As I said in my first post, no offence to the band I love 'em too, but I just can't stand the debut. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really liked the EP that Ratt had put out. Lillian Axe were playing dead-on covers in the local bars at the time and they had most of the songs on that EP in their set so I bought it mainly because I associated it with Lillian Axe. BTW, sometimes my friends and I would jokingly refer to L.A. as "Lillian Ratt" as a compliment to their great covers. And I really liked Def Leppard's debut; if Crue's TFFL hadn't been included On Through the Night would have gotten my vote.
  7. I went with Motley Crue(IMO their best), Def Leppard would be second, Dokken third and Ratt fourth. By how can you leave out Dedringer - Direct Line, Fastway -S/T, Killer Dwarfs -S/T, Lillian Axe -S/T and Zebra - S/T? Include these and I would say : 1-Zebra, 2-Lillian Axe, 3-Killer Dwarfs, 4-Motley Crue, 5-Fastway, 6-Def Leppard, 7-Dedringer. And if the Four Horsemen qualified they could go right to the top with Nobody Said It Was Easy!
  8. Now Playing : Lillian Axe - Live 2002 Next Up : Y & T - Endanger Species Awaiting : LeRoux - Up Penny Black - S/T Riot - Rock City
