I have the new one and to each their own but I really like this album a lot. I'm not sure where I rank it compared to the first two but there are some real gems on here to my ears but i also really enjoyed them at MRF3.

 

Agreed they were spotty but both releases had some excellent tracks. I'm interested in this one!

 

Yeah, I will buy it. Just love his voice. 2 of my all time faves are the ST Treat album & Swedish Erotica. Not to mention he kicked major ass on Facing the Animal for Malmsteen.

 

I agree Facing the Animal was awesome and the Treat S/T disc is awesome too and SE.

Yep saw this vid on sleazeroxx a couple of days ago and yes very good stuff.

I have no issue with them doing this but I rarely pay for it until it comes out but I understand why bands are doing it lately. Hell even some movies and getting made this way and many new businesses are getting opened from kickstarter so it's nothing new.

As others mentioned above Spinefarm has been around a while and released the Reckless Love album and I could be wrong but they are much more of a UK label(I think). The problem with Frontiers now is they seem to only sign bigger bands or artists these days with a few exceptions plus from what one person signed to the label told me their royalty rate was only 4% so they are making much less than they did(percentage not dollars) than they even did when this band was around in the 80s. Frontiers is great at what they do but some bands do just as well with Spinefarm, Escape, AOR Heaven and others.

I also loved the last Jettblack disc, maybe not quite as good as the debut but still very good and I still spin it alot and look forward to a new one.

Yeah I spotted the production sounds a little drowned than the other Kivel releases, perhaps I prefer the crisp clear sound a la Newman, Dennis Ward, or Chris Laney, but I thought it's inferior compared to the other releases like LaValle or Adriangale.

'Can't Stop Falling' is a beautiful tune and much better than 'Forever' as ballad IMHO, wonder if you also like that song ?

Yep I like that song too.

Those other two Kivel albums were produced by Ty and John so I agree there is a difference in the production.

Anyone receive these Kivel releases yet, if they ordered from Kivel direct? I believe they are all available now...

Hmmmm...I wonder if I should be concerned, I haven't dealt with Kivel before but it has been 7 weeks and I'm getting no answers to my emails....anyone else have problems with Kivel?

Yep just pm him on facebook and he should repsond quickly. I know he had a ton of pre orders that he took to MRF so it might just being a case of them getting lost in the chaos for those that weren't being picked up there.

I've seen many people get in over their heads and by only making min payments aren't able to pay the debts back and go through Consumer Credit Counseling to consolidate where you make one payment and the CCC helps you with getting the credit companies to agree to settlements. This beneficial to those companies because if you owe them money their happy to get somethign instead of someone filing a chapter 7 BK and them getting nothing. However if you do have to go this route always always always get a settlement offer in writing and keep it and follow up to make sure they report any payments to the credit bureau correctly as many do not.

To each his own but I found the title track to be one of my favorite songs. There are maybe a couple of fillers towards the back of the disc but I really like the first 7 songs and the title track and "Famous" is nice too. The production is very good to me, sure it's not your standard Ty Sims/Kivel production but I still think it's good.

Perhaps the people there didn't even know who he was and didn't care and the game's on TV is much more important, well he has to accept the fact that he ain't Jon Bon Jovi. If it was Jon, and with some country songs, he will turn more heads to the stage

LOL not most knew who he was but many were wore out by Faster Pussycat and sick of the acoustic shows and add to that a good game was on and there might have been some there that were taking a break waiting for the Stryper guys that were on next.

I just saw Tony at Skull Fest and it hurts me to say that he was a dick on stage. It was great to hear him sing and he even did a Westworld song too but he seemed to be to annoyed with people at the bar watching the football game and not paying attention to him.

 

He did announce that there is a new Westworld album in the works which is great but without Mark Reale I'm not sure they should call it Westworld IMO.

That's interesting, considering he came across as a genuine and humble guy on the MOR Cruise. Sometimes you just have bad days.

I was there at Skull Fest as well. First of all the guy was performing in a road side bar... not a theater. Second, the guy was in Western Nebraska (Broncos' Country) and the game he wanted turned off was the Broncos/Colts game. Third, 20 other bands played and none of them had made this request. Fourth, he followed Faster Pussycat.. so all the riff-raff was cleared out of the main audience area. The people that wanted to enjoy him were listening. He didn't need to be a douche to us.
