  1. Here's another update on a demo tape I'm selling. Got a starting bid from a wellsthatright2011 with zero feedback. Get get a message from another ebayer warning me that wellsthatright2011 is none other than Chris Sarti from Penna. So, I cancelled his bid, around an hour ago I got a bid of 111.00 from a Kishinnyman2 with a feedback of 2, then a retraction from him. So, I blocked him also. I'm I getting too parnoid from the Chris Sarti and Windsoreyes or did I do the right thing ?

  2. I'm going to the Purple Moose show in Ocean City, Md. on Thursday, can't wait :beerbang:

First concert since last June, seems like I'm down to about one show a year anymore.

The House of Blues show in Atlantic City is a maybe, might not be able to get off work.

I'll be at the Thursday Purple Moose show. Let me know if you want to meet up for a beer or few. Not sure what time I am getting to the beach.. I'm shooting for about 2 in the afternoon.

Damm, didn't see this post until after I got back from Ocean City, would have been cool to meet up for a few beers and put a face to the name. Great show, pretty good place for a show, wish they would have left a few bar stools in the place, 5-6 hours is a long time to stand for us oldtimers. I see they have Lita Ford and Quiet Riot coming soon..

  4. The strike should be coming to an end soon, the government has been working through the weekend to get some "back to work" legislation together to put an end to it. The strike hasn't been a complete shutdown to the system though, the postal workers have been choosing one city at a time and sitting in at that particular city, then picking up and moving on to the next and then the next. Mail is still moving but it has been slowed down.

USPS stopped accepting mail to Canada on June 18th, due to a request from the Candain Post. From what I heard the government can force them back to work in 7 to 10 days. I had a cd to go out on June 18th, but couldn't send it. I contacted the buyer and he understood and just said to send it when I can.

  5. Nice find! Good price on them?

I've purchased one lp in my life - Accept - Breaker. I'd love to get into collecting some records but with my cd collection my wife would k-i-l-l me!

they were free, a neighbor of mine had them, there is a rare kiss- creatures of the night 3 track single that I cant find on ebay........

popsike.com is a great site to check out the value of records....

  6. Right now windsoreyes2 is the top bidder. The 2nd is thepriest201120112011 with a feedback of 6. Then is jimmiejames2011 with a fb of 0 and then is sixercity with 3. I have a funny feeling that windsoreyes2, jimmiejames2011 and sixercity might be all the same person.

Hang on for the conspiracy theory. Wind is James Levine from PA. jimmiejames(2011) and priest(201120112011)notice the similarity and then sixercity would be Philly which is also in PA.

Should I be concerned (LOL) or have I watched JFK too many times with my friend Oliver Stone

    Sandy

Prepare to get fucked! Your CSI skills are very good. However the second bidder is more likely Chris Sarti, another demo tape idiot who is from Pennsylvania I believe. I'd cancel the bids ASAP or prepare yourself for excuses and misery.

Sixercity is Chris Sarti from Penna, however he did pay me quick for his last cassette buy, it was only for 10.00

I planned to cancel them. I am going to wait a little while before I do. Since the feedbacks were so low I was going to email them for thier addresses to see if all matches up in the end. If I am the least bit nervous about the buyer I will refund the money in a minute.

    Thanks for the heads up!!

  7. I guess nobody from HH besides me is going to the M3 festival in Columbia, MD...?

For the second year in a row, I have something going on that weekend. Maybe next year...

I'm all set for the June 30th KIX show at the Purple Moose in Ocean City, Md., a couple days at the beach and a KIX show. What more can you ask for :guitbannana:

  8. I went to work Monday night. It was a little out of the ordinary since I'm normally off that night. I wait till 10:00pm and clocked in. I didn't really pay attention to what the screen said and I started to walk off. A co worker said it didn't accept my punch. I thought he was joking so I kept moving. After the meeting I went to check my tasks. There was nothing there. That is a little strange, but I didn't think much of it since the system is new and still has quirks that need to be worked out. I ask the boss and he put me into the system. It was an easy night so I worked my areas and inquired about cbl's (computer training garbage). I had three that were overdue so I did 2 of them before last break. After break I checked the system and nothing was there. I thought that I was free to keep working on cbl's. When I first started working there nobody cared if we stayed till the end of our shift.

I did the last one that was past due and 4 that are due next week. I kept thinking I should go back to the floor, but never did. With about 10 minutes to go I quit the cbl's and decided to check my schedule. I was shocked to find that I was off that night. I didn't know what to think. When I had checked the schedule on the 17th it was clear I worked on the 25th. Sometime between those dates someone changed my schedule. I didn't know because I had no reason to check again. Once a schedule is posted it's supposed to stay the same, isn't it?

I was a bit worried, but decided to clock out. Once I clocked out I decided to go to another computer and double check my schedule. I went down one of the aisles I worked and found they were still zoning. When I saw that I knew I was in deep. I felt awful because an older lady and a 71 year old guy was doing my job for me. At that point there was nothing I could do. I checked my schedule on the other computer and it was the same. Something was really wrong and I wasn't sure what to do.

As I left the building a co worker ask me if the managers ripped into me for not zoning. 10 minutes earlier it was a good night and now management is after me? I was horrified. I got to my car as quickly as I could. I didn't want to find out what nasty surprise was coming next.

Tonight I was scheduled to work, but couldn't because of going in on Monday. I thought they would get that, but surprise surprise I got a call from my boss at 10:30 asking me if I was going to come in. I had to explain to him what happened. I'm sure that's going to fly over well. Like they care. So now I'm in trouble for not zoning and could face punishment for working a day I wasn't even scheduled.

There are so many things wrong with this picture. My horrible night was the result of some ass changing the schedule after it was already set. Since I wasn't in the system nothing was in sync. It was an easy night and yet no one had the time to zone my area? I've zoned other peoples areas for them. If no one had the time why the hell didn't someone come and get me? I don't like doing cbl's anyway. Because I worked a night I wasn't supposed to be there I'm probably in trouble for not being there when I am scheduled.

It should be fun going back to work. I feel like I should be popping Rolaids right now. God bless Walmart, the happiest place on earth.

Seems like a honest mistake, I can't see how they would hold that against you. Seem like a good time to have a union rep, just in case.

  9. Not so much collecting purchase, but I could have made some cash on the side..

Two weeks ago, I went to the flea market to hunt some c.d. finds. I came across a box of c.d.'s. Only one c.d., but about 50 to 75 of them (Still Sealed). I had no idea what type of music it was, so I decided to only pick one copy for myself. The woman told me hat she didn't know what type of music it was. She told me she got them from a storage unit purchase. She was selling them for a dollar each.

The c.d. in question was Gorath-Elite and it's pretty good Black Metal. I went back last week and they were all gone..

Hey cdjunky, from your posts I think you are from Jersey also, what flea markets do you hit ?

Most of my best finds are from flea markets, you have to go thru alot of crap, but sometimes you get lucky..

  10. Talk about turning misery into ecstasy. Opening day in Philadelphia against Houston. Roy Halliday got roughed up by the Astros for 4 runs while the Phillies offense was anemic.

The Astros led 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. The Phillies got 2 back, but were still down 4-2 going into the bottom of the 9th inning.

... and then the wheels came off. The Phillies smacked 6 hits, including a walk-off bloop single by rookie John Mayberry, Jr.

    Woohoo!

Great game, the Phils had me jumping off the sofa and cheering with that hit... :beerbang:

  11. about 6 or 7 years back, we were taking a roadtrip thru South Jersey, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, near Cowtown, Salem County we came across a junk store. We went in and they had a big rack of one dollar cd's, nothing special until I came across a stack of about 10-12 Magnum "No Secrets" still sealed. I picked up one for myself, not realizing how much they were worth. A few weeks later I couldn't find the cd anywhere, not in my car or in the loft where I keep my cds, it just had disappeared and I just forgot about it.Until a few months later we passed the store again and the junk store was gone, replaced with a RV truck center. Never to be found again...

  12. I saw a pretty good movie last night called "High Life", it's a indie black comedy and one of the subplots of the movie involves a April Wine cassette, pretty decent flick to watch if you get a chance, it's on Netflix.

  13. The white label promo's are worth a bit more than the standard promo record with the gold stamp. Most of the time the white label promo's will have a catalog # that start with a PRO than the number. These are the records the collectors look for, sometimes they will have a extra track or a live track. So, most of the time if it has a different catalog # than the regular record, the promo is worth a bit more.

Here's some info I found on the Masterdisc etch

Now you might ask, what does MASTERDISK mean? Well, to break it down and simplify this, it is quite simple. After doing some research online once again, I come to find out what this terminology in all actuality is.

Here you go: Basically, MASTERDISK is basically the record companies mastering house that they use to do the final mastering process right before you get the final product in your hands. It is NOT all of the time however that a record label is going to use the same exact mastering house every time. For example, i have the original Doors first pressing albums in my collection in NM condition and not one of them say: MASTERDISK. In other words, it is just co-dependent upon whomever the record company is able to get at that moment to do the final mastering touches on the record before it is sent out. So, no big deal on this, it is just whomever is there at the time. Most of the recordings mastered at MASTERDISK was based in New York state.
