Shout At The Devil was a near perfect album for 1983.  Then came the glamier Theater Of Pain and it fit 1985 like a glove.  Save for Hysteria, Girls was my favorite album in 1987 and with Feelgood they rounded-out the decade with what certainly should be considered their best album.

They were THE quintessential 80's LA band and weren't part of the Sunset Strip, they were THE Sunset Strip, and all others who followed were simply doing that... following Motley Crue.  That seven year run was easily as impressive as any other band from that era.

I find this type of stuff far more interesting than most "new" material.  Lots of bands out there trying to re-create an 80's sound and vibe... I prefer the real thing.

Everything through Dr. Feelgood was near perfection as far as I was (am) concerned.  Of course I've been a fan since 1983 when I first saw them open for Def Leppard at Jack Murphy Stadium.

Been a fan of these guys dating back to my first days on this site like 15 years ago.

I you like F&TK, try Michael Stanley Band as well (if you haven't already).

Very Work Of Art esque to me.

These guys are a complete throwback to 1989 - 1991.  They should have been part of the the Warrant / Trixter / Firehouse tour.

A bit of a parity, but a fun listen. 

I'm not just digging "Tomorrow Never Comes," I'm flat-out loving it.  I don't normally repeat a track four times, but I have this one.

I purchased the Japanese import yesterday myself and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Not blown-away by either of the first two (released) songs, but sometimes it takes a full album to appreciate individual tracks.

We'll see.

All my friends wore Levi's jean jackets... I went off-script and wore Guess.  I always tried to be a bit different!  I did wear torn-up Levi's 501's, however.  Those, black Asics wrestling shoes, a Joe Elliot-esque mullet with blonde highlites and a hanging Cross earring.  All of that was totally the norm in 1987.  Yeah, I loved the 80's!

That 1986 denim jacket is awesome.

NO MORE CRYIN' is NOT good (and that's being polite as I have nothing but respect for greatest singer in melodic rock / AOR history).  Anyone other than Steve Perry and I doubt I would have made it through the second verse of that track.

Not familiar with this band... I'm not a buyer, but I'm certainly not a hater (once again, that's saying a LOT coming from me).

I liked Walker's early stuff... Kind of a Danny Wilde meets Brett Michaels solo thing going on (for me). 

I wish "Nevertheless" had more electric guitar, gang-backing vocals and some sugary-sweet production (ala Blue Tears).  It could have been a really special album.

Not surprised in the least that it's entirely composed of ballads... but damn would it have been awesome to see "J. Cain" listed as a co-writer on at least one song.

Let's face it, if Perry was capable of belting out STONE IN LOVE as though it were 1981, Pineda would still be singing 80's cover-tunes on various Manilla street corners.

I like this one as it's far better than most SP solo tracks.  This one actually sounds like early RATT and not an attempt to be something or someone he's not.  Reminds me of the EP.

Thanks, Del!  THE TAKE is certainly my type of early 80's rock (before I got into harder stuff).  I'll be buying those ones.

Seems most titles are already OUT OF STOCK.  Is that actually the case, or have they yet to be released and there are no pre-orders?  

Also, I'd really like some sound samples.

I like it now, but as I've continued to age year after year, I find myself reaching for more Steely Dan and less King Kobra.  My 18 year-old self would be very disappointed in my 50 year-old self...

I don't really mind the extra guitar effects... unnecessary noodling, but actually well played, and no one should ever argue the dude's guitar prowess.  But those vocal chords have obviously taken a pounding over the past 35 years. 

I would have lost a bet had someone challenged me whether or not that was Aldo Nova on vox.  I would have laughed and called you crazy for implying such jest.  Appears the joke is on me!  

This one is not on my buy list.

Perry's voice seems a bit strained... I'm guessing there won't be another "Suzanne" on the new album.  At this point, however, I'd buy a CD of Perry singing the telephone book.
