  1. howdy

i dont usually get involved in commenting on the clowns on ebay (as i know many of you love to do with a passion!:))...

the sellers id is digital_metal and are apparently a dvd seller from melbourne Australia who specialise in our type of music.

the only thing is the dvds are not official. i first noticed a Def Leppard - live euphoria in tokyo dvd, which obviously stands out on aussie ebay. as we know this was never an official release, so out of curiosity i questioned the seller just wondering if they were actually just selling copied cd's or the dvds were actually properly pressed. i mean seriously why would you pay at least 20 bucks for dvdR.

i thought this to be a fair enough question for this type of auction, the seller / wally / clown didnt think so.

my first replies received totally avoided the questions i had given and stated that "it was not a cd but a dvd"....it was obvious what i was referring to.... im sorry but a dvd just happens to be a type of cd does it not? obviously id hit upon something he didnt like. i explained this again and received replies such as "this dvd isnt for you". HAHA

i went into great detail to state the question again so there could be no confusion, the sellers reply was simply "regardless im not selling to you".

i then asked what the seller had to hide with such a simple question for this type of item being totally avoided, ... their reply "just dont like your attitude, so ive blocked you from bidding , take it easy"

HAHA i esp like the "take it easy" bit....

i now know why so many people love heckling these morons....

    that seller id again..... digital_metal

    :)

  2. Looks like record labels don't have the monopoly on screwing people over...

    From today's AOR Heaven newsletter:

    Howdy melodic rockers,

I don’t know where I should start with, but let’s try it step by step. First of all – the re-issue of White Lion’s “Fight To Survive” has arrived by Friday morning, 1am, at last, but the whole situation needs to get cleared as there was way too much bullsh** involved.

First of all – this re-issue was a joyned venture between Mike Tramp, Ulftone Music and AOR Heaven. We prepaid the costs for the remix, re-mastering and manufacturing and the deal was that we have the exclusive rights to sell the CD 60 days before the CD will be on sale at the Tramp webshop.

It’s hard to quote, but the problems with the first pressing seems to be real, but everything else which followed was not even a joke, it was indeed a real attempt to rip us off. The second pressing has been finished since nearly 10 days, but all which I have got in the meantime from Ulftone (on behalf of Mike Tramp) were fake UPS numbers (which appeared at their system, but never got picked up), fake mobile numbers from couriers which never had anything to do with this mess and much more crap just to fool us.

The whole affair was part of the game plan from Mike Tramp/Ulftone, which secured a deal at the Bang Your Head festival as a secret guest in the meantime. Mike Tramp wanted to sell the CDs, which we have paid for and which were owned by us, at the festival and not let us have our own product before this show.

Ok guys, this is the naked truth and all I can say is that it shows the real character of some business partners and established musicians which I thought they were reliable.

    Have a great week

    Georg

I thought of all people , Mike Tramp would be the last one i would suspect of doing something like that <_<

i think we shouldnt jump to conclusions when someone has made an accusation...

  3. not in the last week, but some cds ive bought in recent times:

Baby Animals - shaved and dangerous

  4. Yeah, I used to offer Buy-It-Now, but I found myself offering the items at too low of a cost sometimes. I guess I just underestimated. I've had quite a few auctions end within an hour of posting.... <_<

That's okay with me, if I get the price I wanted to sell the item for.

My problem with "Buy it now" is that eBay changed its pricing and now it costs you arm and leg to include it :angryfire: and provided that in 60%+ it gets dismissed almost momentarily its not worth paying for it.

Maybe if eBay makes it so "Buy it now" stays active untill the price is met I would reconsider using it again, till then though, I'm through with it!

Ebay becomes less "seller-friendly" each and every day. Hell, they weren't making enough money before these additional fees, etc.?

I still search ebay every day for CD's (it remains the grail for finding the discs I'm looking for), but I also search gemm, amazon, etc. much harder and heavier than ever before. Ebay's greed has made me sick to my stomach. :puke:

does gemm, amazon etc accept paypal or is that just an ebay thing?

  5. FT-001 is actually an EP, entitled "South Melbourne". I think the title cut was an anthem or theme song for an Aussie soccer team (see artwork below). I have it in my CD singles collection:

    FROZENTEARS1.JPG

    1. South Melbourne (pop mix)  5:18

    2. South Melbourne (Greek Hellas mix)  5:08

    3. South Melbourne (Power Rock mix)  5:14

    4. Love Can Be Real (unplugged mix)  5:04

    5. Can You Feel the Fire  4:40

    6. South Melbourne (ole mix)  1:10

No clue as to year of issue.

I also had the full-length "Silence of the Night" up until earlier this year when I sold off the bulk of my collection.

    Anecdote:

The two Frozen Tears discs, as well as the ultra-rare Safire EP (which I still have) came to me in a trade with the infamous Jymmi Slang back in the early 1990s. I guess I'm one of the few people he didn't rip off...

    -Dan

    thanks Dan, thats very interesting!

  6. ok good you bought it, its a fairly rare aussie indie and its pretty cool that got it cheap. ive had it a long time and i also bought it blindly as the reviews didnt really help. its definatly aor, lots of keys all through it.they even thank "all AOR lovers" in the liner notes, and also seem to have a bit of a fixation for KISS. for some guys we've never heard of they definatly can handle their instruments. my main problem is that the songs are mostly fairly mellow aor songs, yet the few rockier moments on here are cool yet never seem to rock out.

also when i listen to this i need to be in the mood for this cd, but when i am its a really decent album. but then ill just put it back on the shelf and forget about it for months and never have any inspiration to play it, especially as i forget about most of the songs on it. it has a definate unusual sound to it all, so 15 songs maybe hard to digest in one go. though im listened to songs in the 2nd half of the disc right now which sound very cool yet id totally forgotten.

the guys voice is very unusual and stands out from the music quite a lot, and im really not sure it fits in with some of the songs. the reason for this i can see is that the lead singer is Australian/Greek. which probably also explains why one song is played in english and greek.

actually the more i listen to this and think about it, its pretty good but ive thought that before and forgotten about it, so ill have to give it a better go in the next few days.

also the catalogue number is "FT-002", so i assume there is a 001 out there somewhere though ive never been able to find anything about it or the band, though id like to.

    hope this craptalk helps:)

  7. got today:

Def Leppard - Best of (2cd)

this set just shows how great these guys are, 34 top songs! as with all compilation cds theres other songs we want on there..... but i still cant get over how dissapointing it is that there are no new special songs apart from the "waterloo sunset" cover (which will probably be on the 70s covers cd anyway). Def Leppard have such a massive collection of bsides, demos, remixes, rare tracks, alternative versions, japanese bonus's etc that are brilliant, why couldnt we have at least got some of these on this album!!!

  8. i personally believe they are the best aussie band since roxus, bb steal and the early choirboys albums.

i dont understand why these guys arnt on the radio! there music is awesome radio friendly rock who both the old and new generation can listen to. if someone just gives them a chance i think they are big for the future! yet we still have to put up with crap down here, how the hell does Jet make it big??? give Teargas a few years and i hope they are huge, they are just getting to be known internationally known. and they a nice bunch of guys

enough of my craptalking for now

  9. just thought id post about a new young band ive recently become a massive fan of. Teargas are from Melbourne, Australia and are a very young band inspired by bon jovi, dokken, def leppard, van halen etc....

they have a 3 song ep out called "Crazy". it is brilliant! nice and heavy yet very melodic, a modern updated sound yet still remains firmly based in their roots. guitars are very cool, great solos..... the vocals are one of the best things on it! Al, the lead singer does a great job, and the backing vocals are very cool. hard rock which you just wanna sing along too.

they supported Brides of Destruction on their Australian tour and are to support Jeff Scott Soto soon also!

so i recommend to people to have a look at their site

    cheers!

  10. just thought id let you guys know about what happened to me, its quite funny so hopefully it entertains you. it was quite a while ago so im not 100% sure anymore on the details. basically i won a fairly rare book on ebay for a decent price for me. straight after i won i got an email from the seller saying he couldnt go through with the auction as he spilt his coffee on the book, thus ruining the book. to make matters worse he then said that his dog chewed the book up then. i then asked for a photo, as he had taken a photo of the book prior to auction so i wanted to see this damaged book. he then got back to me straight away saying he'd already thrown it out and the garbage truck had already taken it away. all this happened in a matter of 5 mins apparently. i then suggested he kick his dog, cut back on the coffee and start chasing the garbage truck otherwise id report him to ebay. well guess what... he reported me to ebay!!!! :)

i then reported him to ebay...a long time later ebay got back to me saying there was nothing they could do to help me...

    :)

  11. didnt mean to go shopping today, but it just kinda happened (as we all know it does) and im glad it did!

    bon jovi- keep the faith

    nelson- after the rain

tuff- what comes around goes around

    and todays favourite:

bb steal- (dont you) love me and leave me cd single (i assume its the single for this track, it only actually says "bb steal" on the front, but the version of "heartbeat away" is different to the album version, cool!

    the lot for about $6US:)
