I found a box of tapes in my neighbors garage, he died so they had me help move this shit out, and I was listening through these tapes, none of which had any labels on them, I came upon this song, I dig the song a lot, I cannot figure out who sings it, it sounds like it may be a ballad or something off like a commercial rock band, but not American, as you here his accent, figure I'd let you guys take a crack at it, since it may have been a band not known in the US as this guy was from Germany and lived in Holland, i figure you guys if anyone can figure this out, It's just a clip out of the song, the sound quality's too bad to upload the whole song.

Sounds familiar in a way but I just can't put my finger on it yet... Initial guess was it's a German band ans the song is from the mid to late 80's. I'll keep listening and thinking who it could be.

  2. Great stuff! Like this full song A LOT!

Not totally sold yet on the other two soundbytes, especially in the vocal department, but I like their energy, harmony vocals and slightly progressive twist which could well make this a grower. Sounds like production is top shelf as well...

Looking forward to the next full song.

  3. QUIET RIOT's "Slave to love" was a variation of the STAN BUSH demo "Blinded" with different lyrics (credited to the QR members). STAN released his original version later in 1990 as b-side of "Forever" which was used in a TV commercial. Both songs don't feature on any of his full length albums.

  4. Having just checked their FB site it seems they not only have a new rhythm section but have also replaced singer Lars Aass... Well to be fair the new guy sounds pretty good in that clip. Cool song and as both guitarist and keyboarder are from the classic "Back in business" lineup and they've used the same producer from back in 1989 I guess we can expect a good album. Wonder if they've recycled any of those old demos from their shelved 3rd album from the early 90's...

  5. Geoff, what the hell was the 4th song?

So far I've heard "Let's Go" (loving it!), "All Time High" (great!) and "Dangerous" (killer tune if there ever was one! Never expected to hear something that good from the Leps again - ever!) but can't for the life of me find any trace of a 4th new song anywhere on the net. Am I blind or has the posting been deleted? Which one was it? How you'd desrcibe it? Any link available?

  6. i read somewhere the 3 bonus tracks are the demos that was released before the 1st cd, Andre.

haven't seen you,Andre, at Radical for along time.

Right! I talked to Jules at the H.E.A.T. festival in Ludwigsburg last Sunday and he confirmed that the Japanese pressing will have the three EP tracks ("Cross To Bare", "Change Of Passion" and "Don't Fail Me Now") tagged onto the end.

Their performance at the H.E.A.T. festival was just awesome by the way. Wish they'd have played a tad longer... If I didn't have to work on Saturday I'd go seeing them play in Munich in a second. Especially as this will be a headliner gig where surely they'll play a few more songs (if not both albums in their entirety) :party421:

You guys going to Firefest this year will be in for a treat! :beerbang:

And yes, "Serenade" is a killer CD if there ever was one! Those massive keys mixed with crunchy guitars is just AOR perfection if you ask me. Honestly, for me this is the best CD I've heard this year.

    Cheers
