Yes , that is correct! We are releasing a full length CD with pretty much everything Mata Hari (Indiana) ever recorded including everything on Hypnotic Symphony. Amazing melodic progressive metal featuring the jaw dropping talents of guitarist Greg Millikan! They are also talking about reunion shows. I am right in the midst of remastering it all and including rare live tracks that were never recorded in the studio. Very cool stuff!!

Look for that release in about 6 weeks.

hey Guys,

i personally know of 2 Mata Hari's -- one of which Retrospect Records is about to release all their material -- this is the one from Indiana that recorded the Hypnotic Symphony demo and they are more progressive metal in the Queensryche / Fates Warning style, whereas the other one that i am talking to, and will soon be releasing THEIR material are from North Dakota / Minnesota. They are more straight ahead 80's melodic hard rock. You can find them at these myspaces:

Not to take away from my brother Sam but i am actually playing a huge role now in the Retrospect label and i am responsible for most of those signings / releases! And thanks to LVKIX (Dave) for hooking me up with several of those bands. You rock dude, and keep em coming!!

I am so excited about all these releases and the bands are over the moon. I can't believe how rewarding this all is.

I would be very interested in getting some feedback about these releases once they are out there.

I'd buy one, make a cheap knock-off, then sell it for way lower than your original shirt. After all, it's the shirt that matters, right? Why would any retard pay $12 for an original shirt when they can get my cheap knock-off for a fraction of the cost of an original?

i think it could be me as i have been playing in country bands for the past 15 years. Right now i am in the house band at Toby Keiths bar in Harrahs in Vegas.

But i was never a big fan of the old crap like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, Kris Kristofferson or Johnny Cash. Just not my thing although i can appreciate it. AOR is my first love which is why i love newer country bands like Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Emerson Drive, Dierks Bentley - not to mention all those great country vocal bands that came out in the 80s and 90s that were/are borderline AOR.

hey hey, leave out the "country crap" comments. Ain't nothing wrong with some rockin country music!!

Remember AOR king Dann Huff himself is producing and playing on alot of country cd's these days, including Keith Urban, who can rock on guitar with the best of em.

I hear more and more AOR stylings in country today than in any other American music.

Look at all the ex-L.A. session musicians and 80s rockers who are now playing on country albums and touring with country artists or have turned to country artists themselves. Why is that a "bad" thing?

I respect it. I particularly respect my friend Ron Keel who excels in country music and has a true love and passion in performing it. He is multi-faceted - and something he is not ashamed of. Good for him!! I think its amazing how a guy can do Ronnie Dunn one night and scream like hell on old Keel favorites the next night.

I find people very closed minded and somewhat ignorant and certainly doing a disservice to themselves when they slam one kind of music and generalize and say things like "oh its all crap".

Well i enjoy just about EVERY kind of music and i can certainly appreciate talent in ALL kinds of music because i know there are good and bad musicians in all music.

I think different styles of music are there for different moods, to draw out different emotions.

New age, folk, classical, disco, heavy metal, country, bluegrass, jazz, blues -- they all have a place in our emotions and rat race lives. To each his own, but i will say this, by completely eliminating a style of music is missing out on a feeling, an emotion, an experience that that particular music inspires and evokes.

Who was it that said "Free Your Mind!!"?

Theres a hell of a lot of music out there -- go try some different flavors!! It can be rewarding!!

You guys must be borderline retarded. The fact is, you can't release things just because you want. As Brad stated in his email, he doesn't own the rights to it either. And why haven't you contacted him, asking if you could send the money you made. Why does a guy, whose music you stole, have to contact you in order to get paid? Best of all, you admit to stealing someone's music and you & your little cronie (which is probably you also) call me the asshole? There are legalities that one must go through in order to release something. What needs to happen is everyone that you have screwed and whoever else needs to come together and pitch in for the cost of suing your ass and send you to prison. If you want to push your luck, I would love to make it a priority in my life.

Insignificant? Silver powerseller status and my accountant would say otherwise. I sold a SUDDEN IMPACT CD this past winter. One of the rarest CDs on planet Earth. Add to that, MAY RUN. AXIOM. The real ALYZE not once, but three times. MICHAEL HUFF's '88 CD-only 1000 made. Scored one for a lucky collector. CRASH PONY. THE TAKE. SLICK KITTY. I could go on. All in the last calendar year, all 100% original. I have sold more bonafide rarities in the last 6 months than Sam has since he started.

 

And about the whole "vegas is not Restroomspect" thing... I guess that means it's ok for him to sell boots as vegascds then? What a double standard and another shining example of how Sammy twists the truth to fit his ILLEGAL agenda.

i keep getting questions submitted through ebay concerning the items i have listed this week, from the same email address but the first email claimed they were in Hawaii and this new one claims they are in Italy.

The email address is UseTheYellowButton@ebay.com

but the ebay user names are different....

this is VERY strange.

I have dealt with this email address before , several months ago, and if i am correct , the outcome was not good.

I think i also received some fraud mail from this email addy thru ebay too.

Can anyone shed light on this???

Within the last day or so this previously available CD suddenly vanished from the Retrospect catalog.

 

Any people supporting the label that may know why care to elaborate on what happened to this title?

Well said chocularok.... and recordjnky, we're not trying to bring him down. Sam's doing it to himself. With old-fashioned greed and lack of respect for artistic licence.

 

I said it before and I'll repeat it for any slow learners out there: it's not about wanting to see Sam fail... it's about trying to make sure people KNOW what they're getting for their money and not getting royally B.S.-ed through a smokescreen of vague language like import and reissue.  It's also about making sure the bands are aware their work is being re-released and, in the end, getting compensated fairly. Add to that reasonable prices and legitimate silver pressings... is that too much to ask?

 

But, nope, everytime I bring these valid issues up, out come the childish insults from the RR cheap seats (and those quasi-Retrospect fence-sitters who are bold enough to defend Retrospect but too wishy washy to represent them in an official sense. To you I say- piss or get off the pot!!!)
