I received my CD today from Andrew and just wanted to say that this is an amazing 2 CD compilation with 37 songs and has one of the best CD booklets I've ever seen! Each song is depicted in the booklet with a picture of the album it originates from and a little paragraph from the artist talking about the actual song. A very well put together package and anyone who hasn't picked up a copy should head over to MR.com and do so before they sell out. This is the sort of quality packaging I'd like to see from every new release.
I haven't finished playing it yet but so far some of the stand out tracks are:
Taxxi - Writing On The Wall (prev unreleased)
Blanc Faces - Falling From The Moon (from the new album)
Action - Never Alone (prev unreleased)
Wow, thanks mate
Really appreciate that feedback - especially on the booklet. Cost a bit extra and took a while to put togther, but I basically do things as I'd like to buy them myself, especially as someone that loves the physical product still.
I'm talking to the Taxxi guys about what to do with the remaining material they have unreleased (ALL killer) and the Blanc Faces is now likely to be released early 2010 (as in Jan/Feb).
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Andrew.

Holy shit, i missed this thread....just saw the promo over at Melrock and went straight to the Myspace.
These songs rule. If this isnt gonna be one of the best mhr of 2009 id be amazed....lets hope they can keep that quality up for the whole album.
Sounds well good
One of my favourite albums of the last 12 months....sounds monsterous when cranked loud and really just carries a lot of energy. And FAR better lead vocals from Chandler over the last Talon release. FAR superior!
Reminds me of the debut Lynch Mob in places...more samples soon...

Thanks for the good vibes re: MRCD5. Worked hard on this one over several months. Looking forward to getting it done and shipped out.
It looks awesome - have already pre ordered (with the Harem Scarem E.P). I especially love the sound of the SPIN GALLERY vocalist's tune, killer AOR stuff there...
Thanks Tim. Chris Antblad's material is just fabulous. Proper mixing of the album starts in a week or so.

If you wanted JSS & Journey....then hold out for W.E.T.
A few amazing Journey/Perry moments on this album. Preview soon...
Andrew,
Have you heard the complete album? Man I am dying to hear this.....I labelled this earlier in the year as a potential album of the year in the MHR stakes.
As regards JSS and Journey........never sat completely right for me either. I Love JSS and think he has a brilliant stage presence but something just didnt click. Pineda is a better fit for them IMO.
Plus from a purely selfish view point I want to hear JSS creating his own music. 'Beautiful Mess' was brilliant for me. & now this W.E.T. collaberation could and should be even better!
Cheers
Yes, have full album here and you'll hear a preview next week at MR.com and a full track on the new MRCD compilation.
The music and lyrics are all JSS co-writes with Robert Sall from Work Of Art and Erik from Eclipse, with the Eclipse guys performing the music and Erik producing.
Sounds like the latest Eclipse album meets Eyes meets Journey. JSS sounds a lot different on this album and there is a ton of AOR on it but all done with the balls of Eclipse.
The last track though is one of the most Journey-esque tracks I have EVER heard outside of Journey performing themselves. And JSS does his very best Perry vocal....amazing...
Stunning album - balls, hooks and choruses...

It is on the front page of Melodicrock.com right now. They are said to be Australia's anwser to Finland's Brother Firetribe and Norway's Wig Wam....I don't think so. I see and hear the potential, but this is really low budget in every sense.
Just getting people's attention
The song is actually very well produced...doesn't sound as good in the YouTube audio and yes....the video is bad - in a good way!

Just talked to Steve DeMarchi and he and Freddy are ok with the idea.
Talked to EMI Canada again and I am now just taking delivery of the master file for "Call Me".
Now all I have to do is learn how to use Adobe Indesign in under 2hrs and fix the artwork, then I can get this baby to press.
Just to confirm - Angelmilk version fo Alias will contain Call Me and will drop the acoustic version of When I'm With You.
And after hearing the master yesterday, I absolutely agree that this is the best move for this release.
The North American release will not feature Call Me.
Cheers for the feedback!
Best Regards,
Andrew.
PS. Soundbytes this week...but most of you are obviously familiar with the material

Due to fan feedback, I am currently (with urgency) talking to Steve DeMarchi and EMI Canada to get the acoustic track swapped out for Call Me - just for the Euro Angelmilk Version.
Stay tuned...

My Alias II mp3s came via Andrew at MelodicRock, and it doesn't have 'Call Me' on it. Somebody's gonna have to send that to me.
I've asked Steve if we can feature it as a download somewhere...
-
It was the band's decision...
Call Me has already been released (in some form at least), these remaining tracks have not, so preference was given to those I guess.
I'll have the masters next week and will upload MP3 samples to re-inspire those upset at this news.
Release date likely to be March 9 or 16.

i liked the second alias as well. have the boot. alot more rockin, not as many
choices for singles.. Looking forward to purchasing the official release and more importantly to seeing Alias live! Freddy Curci has been one of my fave vocalists since the "Sheriff" days.
Call Me has been removed from the release due to the CD clocking over 80 mins. Release is likely on March 9 or 15....still waiting for EMI to confirm shipping of the master.

Valentine have confirmed to me personally that the re-issue is unauthorized and that they are taking steps in regards to this.
Jim Jidhed has been notified as have copyright holder Virgin, so they will comment hopefully later tonight.
Members of Hurricane have not even heard of the song titles listed as bonus tracks on their re-issues.
Regards,
Andrew.

Hi folks,
I just had to come over and post here...
For the longest time I thought I had a stalker on my hands. This Bob tool has been a thorn in my side for the last couple of years.
Totally unintelligble e-mails about who knows what...complaining non stop about MR-X (yet his user ID was the #2 most used bandwidth of ALL members), plus trying to get me to make and send CDRs of everything I get sent...etc etc...
This clown has no clue of relality and I have watched his CDR count go from 18,000 to now 42,000 since he started "stalking" me.
But now thanks to Dan and Koogles, I learn that he is not just stalking me, but rather he is a complete loon stalking us all.
I've just refunded and cancelled his MR-X membership and will now laugh at all future inbound mail knowing that he is annoying the buggery out of everyone else also.
Nice to know
Best regards,
Andrew.

Thanks again guys...love doing it and the artists love being a part of it. Looking at doing something cool for MRCD6....might roll out some of the bootleg footage I have from MRF at Southbend USA for a DVD.
