I picked this one up a few weeks back, and still haven't got round to playing it.
I've only heard good thing's.
-
You're excused.
Please tell me, where did I call him a name?
I don't like ADV OR these crap covers, and "Captain Howdy" has to crawl up MY arse about it. I don't care how long he's been on here, I don't need to be told what to like because other people do.
I have no issue with anyone here, you're all just strangers on the Internet. He's the one that has to take an issue whenever I comment.
There's plenty of post's where I do enjoy stuff, but that's conveniently ignored, because I don't agree with your friend, who constantly attacks me...

Do you ever have a positive opinion on anything?
If you think his covers are absolute shit and he is shouting, then yes, you need to get your ears checked or you are talking absolute shit just like when you were in the Russell/Guns topic.
Shit is shit.
Just like all the shit that Italian Keyboard Dwarf writes and just like these shit covers.
And your shit taste obviously.

A far cry from the days of Oh What A Crying Shame and Dance The Night Away 😅

Get your ears checked mate.
I don't need to, it's absolute shit.
If I got my ears cleaned I would hear it even clearer, and I don't need that.

This sounds so promising!
Really very good.
-
I haven't heard one of his covers that I can say I've enjoyed.
He just shouts. There's zero nuance to any of them.
Really, really not good.
Loved his solo album, loved that first HEAT album he did, love him in Skid Row, but I can totally do without these soul-less metalized covers he churns out.

The intro gave me false hope they'd done something different.
But it quickly turned into Frontiers production-line, by-the-numbers AOR.
-
It just sounds like 38 Special, but if they were aiming for the 80's country market rather than the rock market.
I don't mind this. And a bonus is you can't hear Jim's vocals.
-
His name usually only appears next to another...
One thing that's almost guaranteed is that it won't be written by the "band".

Be interesting to know who wrote them 🙄

He did start off as a solo artist, and his debut solo album was better than anything he's done since, in spite of the fact that his time with Danger Danger and The Defiants was superb.

Hope he mixes the sound between his debut and The Defiants debut.
And hopefully the keyboard midget is nowhere near it... ahh who am I kidding!
Tentatively this might be one to look forward to.

I officially don't now, lol. But I'm serious too.
Pile ons just irritate me. Next we'll be saying the blanket world reaction to covid was all good too.
I was all on board with a few harmless snipes at ADV here and there, but blanket general opinions and commentary will always just annoy me.
Not having a go at you, @EnJayKay, but the moral of this thread seemed to end up being that you just hate everything.
I made the point that I think right now ADV is more well equipped to be writing songs for, or with... I don't mind with, Jack Russell and Tracii Guns. And you said you'd rather hear shit written by Guns/Russell, but then as the thread went on you hate all the shit the non-ADVs of the world write anyway and nothing was accomplished.
I like to discuss what is before us, and in this case, if the above song is anything to go by, I don't mind ADV in this project. He may fuck something else up and I'll be there to call it what it is, but in my opinion, this particular case isn't a reason to pile on ADV. I think that song's as good as anyone could expect from these guys in 2023, personally. And maybe that's because of ADV?
Yeah... sure... but for balance he's talentless and everything he does is pure shit 😜

Shame they didn't manage to keep Dino.

I love how every topic on an upcoming release inevitably spirals into how much we all hate ADV.
With good reason though 🤣

So you just changed your story. You claimed they did not write any of the material and were just hired to record someone elses material. I proved that's wrong so now you have another excuse without actually admitting you were wrong.
As I said you have every right to not like something, but don't just make shit up dude or at least do some research before making claims like that.
Oh so I should buy the shit stuff to support the artist just because keyboard dwarf didn't write it?
Gotcha.
90% of it is project's that I don't support, written by the in-house team with hired names, 10% of it is written by the artist but is dogshit.
Either way, you're not convincing me to buy it.

Not even close to being true.
Sweet & Lynch all written by Michael & George
Black Swan all written by McAuley, Pilson & Beach
Sunbomb although does have ADV writing credits, all songs are co-written with Sweet, Guns and bassist, Mitch Davis
Dirty Shirley all songs written by Jelusick and Lynch
Nobody is saying your don't have the right to not buy them, but you should at least have things straight before making such a wide of the mark statement.
Apart from Black Swan, I didn't buy any of them because they were shit.
I think I may have bought the first Black Swan, and the first Sweet Lynch (was that the one with Dying Rose on it, because that was a good song?)
It doesn't *just* have to be because the keyboard midget of doom has his chubby little fingers in the pie.
Some of it is just not good in spite of him.
Besides he wrote all of the last Sweet Lynch album, was all over the Dirty Shirley album, and as you said he was all over Sunbomb... thankfully he only mastered Black Swan.

That hurts the artist as much as the label. I get being mad at a label but I am not mad at the artists who are just trying to make a living in a tough marketplace these days.
Not saying that is what I do (although yeah I definitely download some stuff, there's just too much out there now not to), but in the case of these shit project's, the artist has no input, they are hired to come in and record someone else's work. So the artist is already paid and won't be harmed by the fact people don't buy the album when it's out.
It effects the label and the songwriters by not buying it, and that's the point. Because I don't want to support Frontiers or Del Vecchio.
I buy pretty much everything Escape or AOR Blvd put out, direct, for that exact reason too. I can see the difference those purchases make.
-
Before Del Vecchio I'd already got bored shitless with Erik Martensson, so I give Eclipse and W.E.T a wide berth too.
And I didn't say I don't have or have heard some of those album's, I'm saying Frontiers didn't get a penny of my money, and won't.

Desmond Child was the opposite of shit. IMO never made a band worse, only better. Ponti on the other hand, I could not say the same. He surely has to shoulder some of the blame for the decline of “hair metal” leading into the early 90s with his banal tripe.
That's my point, they weren't shit.
Although Desmond is still responsible for Ricky Martin, so his slate is not 100% clean.
My point is neither have the criminal record of Stock, Aitken and Waterman or Frontiers and their Del Vecchio production line, which is why they fit together better.
-
We're all bitter Andrew, we should appreciate being fucked over by a poor label constantly using artists we love to pedal sub-standard shit or just generally ripping us off.
We should appreciate the bad music and bad business practice.

Nothing at all? What was the last Frontiers album you bought?
Good question!
It might have been LRS in 2014 actually... not a bad album, but all Del Vecchio and that was me done.

Oh, I see. Genuinely never even heard of them. Given the forum we’re on I’m assuming a reference to Desmond Child and Jack Ponti may have more relevance.
Ish, but they weren't quite so shit overall 😅
