I have it.
-
The Last Hard Men was a perfect 100% for me.
-
Agreed on the album cover...terrible. They have some great tracks though.
If this one doesn't scream Queensryche I don't know what does:
-
Never see these guys talked about anywhere. They're not on the main site either. They released three albums (I haven't heard the last one "My Time To Die") but the first one "The Unthinkable Deed" is very cool and sounds like a party metal version of Queensryche at times. The second one "Can't Break Me" is darker and more progressive but still great. Anyone else dig these guys? Always thought 'Ryche should have covered this song. Sounds like it could have fit perfectly on Operation Mindcrime 2:
-
Journey tops it for me too. Closely followed by IV, Trust, Mystery Eyes, Helluva Time and then everything else. I should probably give HT another listen though because while I remember liking it a lot I haven't spun it in a very long time.
-
Can anyone tell me anything about the Dutch band PICTURE who had a string of albums in the 80s? I can't find much written about them or any album reviews. What's their best album?
-
Awesome. I definitely need this.
-
Thanks for the links. Yeah, that review doesn't leave me hopeful.
-
What can anyone tell me about this band? I just heard "Helpless" and was surprised to see no one had listed them on the main site yet. Cool song. Looks like they had one album...or are there more?
-
I've been waiting for this for a long time. Never seen the first or third but the local video store here used to have a copy of The Metal Years and I think I checked it out at least a dozen times before they went out of business. I used to wish I had copied it when I had the chance. People were selling those old VHS copies for big bucks for a while.
-
What happened to Michael Morales? I know he got into some trouble with the law a while back but that has to be settled by now, right?
-
Wow. I don't know. The debut never clicked with me. Sure, there are some cool songs on it...but I remember my first spin of Zaza and I dug pretty much the whole thing. Granted, I haven't listened to a BB album in its entirety in years so maybe my opinion would change now. One thing I do know is that I attempted many times to get into Freakshow and never could.
-
Zaza is their finest moment bar none.

Lots of good reviews out there for this one. Anyone here heard it yet? I should be getting my copy on Saturday.
-
Yeah, the samples are awesome. I wish I hadn't listened to them though because the wait just became unbearable. These guys can do no wrong in my book.
-
Samples of all the tracks. Sounds absolutely fantastic.
-
Yeah, stay away from their S/T debut and you're in good shape.
Google "Del Amitri Rarities"...there's a really great 10 part out-of-print B-sides blog out there. There's around 30 studio tracks and a boatload of live and alternate versions of songs. And like I said, some of these tracks are really great. They have an actual B-Side album out called Lousy With Love with even more...never heard this but going to order it.
And I might be crazy, but some of the Dels stuff sounds like what Butch Walker was trying to do with some stuff on I Liked You Better When You Had No Heart and some of Sycamore Meadows. Vocals are nothing alike, but the songwriting and some of the music definitely makes me think of the Dels. I'd be interested to hear his opinion of them.
-
Always loved this band. Just got a hold of about 30 b-sides and was simply blown away by a lot of them. "A Better Man" is just awesome and I can't believe it never made one of their studio albums. In fact, a lot of these songs are amazing. Definitely a band that should have been huge. I consider everything from Waking Hours through Another Suckers to be prime stuff...as well as Justin's two solo albums.
Any other Del fans here?

Passed on an original copy of Signal's Loud & Clear...went home, decided I wanted it, went back...gone. I think it was like $5 and I don't know why I didn't pick it up the first time.
Same thing happened with the self titled Witness album. Saw it and passed. Never saw it again.
I'm sure there are more...but I'm starting to hate myself so I won't go into them.

I'm with Geoff so far.
About 5-6 spins in and things are growing on me, but I think I let the hype build my expectations too much. Love Eat Me Up Alive, Best Of Me, Take A Big Bite, and Lost Weekend. The rest range from the good: A Little Too Much, As Good As It Gets, Garden of Eden to the average: Look Out Below, Last Call, Take Me Home, Don't Let Go.
But like I said, things are growing on me little by little. Definitely not the instant album I was hoping for though.

Awesome guys. Thanks a lot!
From the samples I've heard the production does sound huge...which has me salivating as I thought the production on Wake Up was a little bland. That album actually sounded rushed to me. I truly think getting Sandager in there has done wonders for these guys both from a songwriting perspective and an overall sound perspective.
Listen to me...I haven't even heard this thing yet. Can't wait.

I can barely wait another minute to hear this thing.
For those of you lucky enough to have it already...can you do a track by track? Sorry, I'm a huge fan and am devouring any bit of news I can get on this.

Album cover and 90 second sample of the first single are up on the Maids site.

And Dangerous was written with Mutt. Imagine if they had written the whole album with him.
