  1. Never see these guys talked about anywhere. They're not on the main site either. They released three albums (I haven't heard the last one "My Time To Die") but the first one "The Unthinkable Deed" is very cool and sounds like a party metal version of Queensryche at times. The second one "Can't Break Me" is darker and more progressive but still great. Anyone else dig these guys? Always thought 'Ryche should have covered this song. Sounds like it could have fit perfectly on Operation Mindcrime 2:

  2. Wow. I don't know. The debut never clicked with me. Sure, there are some cool songs on it...but I remember my first spin of Zaza and I dug pretty much the whole thing. Granted, I haven't listened to a BB album in its entirety in years so maybe my opinion would change now. One thing I do know is that I attempted many times to get into Freakshow and never could.

  4. Yeah, stay away from their S/T debut and you're in good shape.

Google "Del Amitri Rarities"...there's a really great 10 part out-of-print B-sides blog out there. There's around 30 studio tracks and a boatload of live and alternate versions of songs. And like I said, some of these tracks are really great. They have an actual B-Side album out called Lousy With Love with even more...never heard this but going to order it.

And I might be crazy, but some of the Dels stuff sounds like what Butch Walker was trying to do with some stuff on I Liked You Better When You Had No Heart and some of Sycamore Meadows. Vocals are nothing alike, but the songwriting and some of the music definitely makes me think of the Dels. I'd be interested to hear his opinion of them.

  5. Always loved this band. Just got a hold of about 30 b-sides and was simply blown away by a lot of them. "A Better Man" is just awesome and I can't believe it never made one of their studio albums. In fact, a lot of these songs are amazing. Definitely a band that should have been huge. I consider everything from Waking Hours through Another Suckers to be prime stuff...as well as Justin's two solo albums.

    Any other Del fans here?

  6. Passed on an original copy of Signal's Loud & Clear...went home, decided I wanted it, went back...gone. I think it was like $5 and I don't know why I didn't pick it up the first time.

Same thing happened with the self titled Witness album. Saw it and passed. Never saw it again.

I'm sure there are more...but I'm starting to hate myself so I won't go into them.

  7. I'm with Geoff so far.

About 5-6 spins in and things are growing on me, but I think I let the hype build my expectations too much. Love Eat Me Up Alive, Best Of Me, Take A Big Bite, and Lost Weekend. The rest range from the good: A Little Too Much, As Good As It Gets, Garden of Eden to the average: Look Out Below, Last Call, Take Me Home, Don't Let Go.

But like I said, things are growing on me little by little. Definitely not the instant album I was hoping for though.

  8. Awesome guys. Thanks a lot!

From the samples I've heard the production does sound huge...which has me salivating as I thought the production on Wake Up was a little bland. That album actually sounded rushed to me. I truly think getting Sandager in there has done wonders for these guys both from a songwriting perspective and an overall sound perspective.

Listen to me...I haven't even heard this thing yet. Can't wait.

    Brian

  9. I can barely wait another minute to hear this thing.

For those of you lucky enough to have it already...can you do a track by track? Sorry, I'm a huge fan and am devouring any bit of news I can get on this.

    Brian
