  2. HAIDUK to release new album in 2021!

“Blackened Death Metal force majeure Haiduk, the solo project of Luka Milojica, will release its fourth full-length album in the summer/fall of 2021! The new album will feature 11 new songs, tying together the dark lore of the previous albums and feature new maps, stories, illustrations, and a timeline. New information, artwork, tracklisting, and music will follow in the coming months.

Luka Milojica describes the music on the new album as: ‘Pure evil, speed and darkness.’ “  – Ghost Cult Magazine (link)

Dude, extreme metal with drum machine but without vocals and guitar solos... well it's just some l'art pour l'art at its best. Form a band, get serious.

I appreciate the comment. My response is 2 years late..., I guess I didn't have time to reply last time. Anyway, I disagree with all 4 points in your comment.

    - Drum machine when done right is indiscernible from a human drummer. Nowadays ~50% of pro produced extreme metal bands use sampled drum sounds anyway, whether it's a human player or not. Even if human, there's still a ton of editing/correcting. On the other hand, if it is a drum machine, it gets quantized to sound more human again... If produced well, you can't tell a difference.

    - Solos are stupid. Pure wankery with little structure. Solos or high-pitched guitars don't fit extreme metal at all. 95% of such bands who try playing solos ruin their whole song because of it. Kills the dark mood. Very few bands know how to play a "dark" solo that fits death metal (Cannibal Corpse & Dissection come to mind). This "rule" that every band MUST have a solo around the 2 minute mark of every has ruined so many rock & metal songs over the decades. Fuck solos and fuck formulaic song structures.

    - L'art pour l'art is the purest form of art.

    - Form a band to get serious? No longer necessary. That kind of thinking is obsolete. In the 70's / 80's / 90's the only way to make an impact was to make a band and hit to road. While this still somewhat rings true today, it's not at all required.

“Sinister, spiralling, atonal and dark, ‘Exomancer’ is going to be an underrated gem from 2018.”

  5. Appreciate the feedback.

@martinsane: That's the first time anyone suggested less vocals. I keep the vocals to a minimum and most people wanna hear/expect more. It's not a form of "singing" as far as I see it, more like another instrument.

From some of these comments I'd have thought no one here is familiar with death metal. Then I see that there's Metal section here, listing death metal in the description. This thread should really be moved there!
