Back in '06, when Butch released a DVD, I bought an extra (10? 12? can't remember) and I (thought) I put a thread on here (that I now can't find) that if anyone wanted to check out a copy, PM me their address and I'd send it to them.  I think I may have even sent them to a few different countries besides the US.  But anyone who sent me a PM, while supplies lasted, got themselves an unopened, brand new copy of Butch Walker: Live at Budokan.

Are you a Butch fan?  Seen any of his Detroit shows?  (I'd thought about a drive up a few times in the past; never did it.  But I've heard good things about some of those shows.)

I have seen him here three times, all great shows. Friend of mine turned me onto Marvelous 3 Ready Sex Go around the time I was getting divorced and it became my soundtrack. Bought his book, bunch of CD's, all great stuff. I'll have to look for the DVD.

    Hoping he comes back soon.

  2. I still have it because of the whole deal with an autographed CD copy and what to do with the original/replacing it/etc.

I don't know that anyone ever asked to be in line after me and no one jumped in after the whole new CD thing, so if someone wants in line, let me know and I'll get it moved on while I have a $0.84 cents left from my last pay. (I can probably find a quarter laying around to get the rest of the postage.)

Doh!! Forgot all about this. I can still send around a liner to have autographed, we don't see each other often(drummer in Edmonton, singer, guitarist in southern Ontario, and me in Detroit) but I am due for a visit soon to the Ontario guys.

Not much new. We were trying to get a project going for new material, but distance and other commitments got in the way. Not ruled out though

  3. what?!?! no comments on the videos? c'mon guys, there's some good hassling to be had there.

Well, as long as the woman in Canada has done my paperwork I'm off to rehearsals today for the show on Saturday. I will take a copy of the disc with me to be signed by all and if you're really interested will replace the one out there with that.

  4. OK, it's time I put myself up for public ridicule, I have a thick skin, I can take it. You can say what you will about the boots. Not sure what I was thinking or why my wife let me out of the house looking like that. But I never did anything to be "Cool".

Be sure to check out the other two videos. Johnny was shot for the label to use as they were shopping for distribution. Considering they never dropped a penny for a video after the CD came out they should have used it for promo.

  5. I'll qualify my statement. "Little Man" was the one that suffered the most punishment. We didn't envision all the strings and fake choirs, we were a four piece rock band. Some of the early material had keys, but not over the top like that. The overall production was just "not us". All the big reverb just made for a mushy mix in my opinion.

I'm trying to salvage some cassette live recordings. They are board tapes, so not truly representative either, but closer. If anything is decent, I'll let you know.

  6. sadly we were pretty well screwed by the label. we each got one copy of the disc, I bought extras in stores or later on eBay. I have one of each of the various shirts we did before we were signed. Sorry, nothing to pass on.

side note: the CD doesn't really represent how we sounded live. After we were done tracking the songs we were cut out of the process and never heard the finished product until the day before release. They added keyboards to songs that never had them and the mix is terrible IMHO.
