  1. I gotta go with the Batman from the strength of the first with Keaton, and the last two with Bale.

I didn't see Iron Man on your list. It was pretty good. They did change his origins a bit, though, so that lost it points from the "faithful adaptation" standpoint. The Spider-Man movies (I haven't seen the latest) were all pretty good as well. The first X-Men movie was good, the second was ok, the third....didn't really care for it that much. Ghost Rider was alright, though Nick Cage does play the exact same part in every movie and the villian in it (Black Thorn?) was ok at best as an actor.

I'm dying to see Watchmen. That looks wicked!

i believe the villain in Ghost Rider was Blackheart

That's it! I knew it was Black-something, but couldn't recall it off the top of my head.

  3. Another one from the 'Bizarre News Story' file... it begs the question, HOW DRUNK do you have to be to want to molest a raccoon?? :yikes:

Raccoon Fends off Pervert -- by Biting off Penis

    Jan 28th 2009

    By Tom Radler

The practical logistics of molesting a raccoon are completely lost on us. One drunk Russian man, however, gave it the old college try, and the result was exactly what you might imagine -- the raccoon bit off the man's penis.

Alexander Kirilov, 44, said he was out carousing with friends when he decided to try and get busy with the furry (but feisty) animal. "When I saw the raccoon I thought I'd have some fun," he said to Moscow surgeons, who are attempting to put his mangled member back together.

"He's been told they can get things working again but they can't sew back on what the raccoon bit off," explained friend. "That's gone forever so there isn't going to be much for them to work with."

Dude, where the hell do you find this shit? :rofl2:

I've gone without sex for a good little clip before myself, and have even been slap drunk during some of them. But seriously....a raccoon? Dude, hire a hooker or something...

  4. Bought:

    Boixos Nois - Boixos Nois

    Ripcord - Speed Of Sound

    Vicious Circle - Cryptic Void

    Traded for:

    Ferat - Rainhold

Are Boixos Nois & ripcord worth buying or not??

Still waiting for Boixos Nois to arrive, but I think the Ripcord is pretty good. If you can find it cheap, it's worth it. Just don't expect the "speed of sound" from it; it's mostly mid-paced. Not a bad album, though.

Thanks bro, if you remember me & post an opinion when you'll get the boixos nois would be cool otherwise forget it! :christmas:

Yah sure, not a problem. Once it gets here I'll give it a couple spins and post some quick opinions of it.

BTW, nice score on the Hexenhaus! I've been trying to find their 4 CDs for a while, but the prices on eBay (for the real deals, not the bootlegs) gets too high for me.

  5. I would like to hear Bush back but I'll check it out anyway.

Hopefully Mr. Bush will forge forward with Armored Saint!

Apparently there is indeed a new Armored Saint record in the works... there was news about it on Blabbermouth a few weeks back, I posted it around here somewhere...

I'm looking forward to the Armored Saint, but not the Anthrax. I haven't cared for Anthrax at all since Persistence of Time. It wasn't because of John Bush, it was because I thought the music was uninspired and that Bush wasn't quite the right fit. Never could get in to any of the albums he was on. They just felt "bleh" to me.

  7. Thanks. I love these things, as some of them are "spit all over the monitor" funny! I've got a big stash of them as well, I just have to locate the disc I've got the rest of them on...

  8. I've got several CDs from bands with lyrics in a foreign language.

Su Ta Gar (lyrics are in Basque, an ancient hybrid of Spanish and French)

    Terminator (Czech)

Lethal (Spanish, I THINK...they are from Argentina)

Jurassic Jade (some in English, but mostly in Japanese)

Crash (album has one song done in Korean)

    Master (Russian)

    Testor (Polish)

  9. Welcome aboard Ben. Did you know Freddy was a Michael Bolton fan - he has all his cd's and an alter he worships at every night before beddibies!! :drink:

That explains a lot! I always knew something was a bit off, but couldn't pinpoint what it was...

Has an intervention been done yet?

  10. Hi all. I'm Ben and I ended up here because of a post by Fat Freddy at the heartofmetal board, so blame him if things go badly. I've "known" (subjective, obviously) him and spectrefate for a while now from their participation over there.

Anyway, I'm 30 and have been a metal fan since I was about 11 or so. I got into metal cause my older brother. He had tapes from W.A.S.P., Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc. He'd play 'em for me every now and again, so that's where my "fandom" started. I started out with hair and glam metal, and quickly moved to thrash and death metal. I discovered bands on my own back then, as my Dad was completely against heavy metal so I couldn't get the "latest" mags, rags, and zines (and basically had to sneak in the house any and all tapes I picked up). Me and my buddies would try to outdo each other with our latest finds, so blind buying (based off of logo, cover art, band names, etc) was my way of finding all sorts of bands.

I am basically a thrash die-hard. My genre of choice, really. I listen to a tiny bit of death metal, as I just don't enjoy it like I used to. I also like a pretty good amount of speed and power metal (the old stuff, mainly, as most of the Euro power/speed bands these days all sound the same to me; Helloween - Keeper era knock off wannabe's). I also have a fascination (maybe obssessive-compulsive to some degree) with finding obscure thrash bands from back in the day. If it's unknown-to-obscure thrash you want to know about, I'd be the guy to ask!

  11. I have never cared for these guys, and never understood the hype about them. They get tagged thrash and I honestly don't see how. I've tried a couple of their albums and all I hear is Pantera/groove-tinged metalcore with the occasional (<--- I stress that word) thrash "window dressing" thrown in.

I was ALMOST convinced that I should give them more of a try when that tune first started. It was hammering away nicely. I was digging it. However, the singer opened his mouth, and in my opinion that vocalist is just utter garbage. When the chug-a-lug breakdowns started, I completely lost interest.

  12. I was at work today and one of the Spanish plummbers was playing some Spanish metal, and I was really digging it, I didn't understand a word of it but the music was very good. Anybody know of any Spanish bands?

I know of a band FROM Spain, but their lyrics are in Basque. It's sort of an ancient form (and mix) of Spanish and French (and God knows what else).

The band is Su Ta Gar.

  13. Hiya folks. First topic reply here. Thrash is my genre of choice! Here is what I'll say today, though tomorrow the bulk of this list will probably be completely different:

Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal

    Razor - Shotgun Justice

    Forbidden - Twisted Into Form

    Megadeth - Rust In Peace

    Metallica - Master Of Puppets

Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss

    Kreator - Coma Of Souls

    Nuclear Assault - Survive

    Sepultura - Arise

    Vulture - Easier To Lie

    Anthrax - Among The Living

    Sodom - Agent Orange

    Heathen - Victims Of Deception

    Mottek - Fatal Violence

    Fallen Angel - Faith Fails

    Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare

    Channel Zero - Channel Zero

    United - Human Zoo

Su Ta Gar - Hortzak Estuturik

    Demolition Hammer - Tortured Existence
