  1. Fair enough...good to know where folks are coming from. FatFreddy, I hear you on the Crue. I stuck it out a bit longer, until Dr. Feelgood. I liked that song, and Kickstart my Heart, and ....HATED the rest of that record. They would not redeem themselves until briefly with the Corabi record, possibly their best behind Shout At The Devil.

'Amazing' by Aerosmith. I hate that one even more than 'Crazy', but I forgot about it!!

  2. I had to think on that one, but I went with 'Metal Heart' because I listen to tunes from that one the most.

Almost went with Objection Overruled, as that one is severely overlooked. ('Donation', 'Objection Overruled', 'Bulletproof', 'Sick Dirty & Mean', 'All or Nothing', 'Anamos La Vida', 'Pomp and Circumstance'...truly a classic!)

Also love Restless&Wild, Russian Roullete, Staying a Life and of course...Balls to the Wall. I do enjoy 'Death Row' and a few songs from "Predator" as well at times.

It upsets me I never got to see this band live (although I did buy their dvd "Metal Blast from the Past", so I can at least see how it was!)

Could care less about anything with Reece, but I do like the newer albums in the past five years.

  3. Not sure what to say about this....I have always liked Krokus, They have put out sub-par efforts though, and while I liked "Rock the Block" at first, it is actually kind of generic when you remember they put out discs like "Headhunter" and "One Vice at a Time", or even "The Blitz". So I have kind of stopped picking up their stuff. I still like them though, ---and I am sure I would like this record better than anything Def Leppard has put out in 20 years.

(Kind of enjoy that 70's Ac/Dc jangling guitar sound on this...I will listen to more and see if it's better...)

  4. Ok, next question: what about band t-shirts? I would think they will have their own tables out at times? Would these be cash transactions, and are the prices high, like at concerts?

I've liked several of these bands for a very long time, and might want to buy a shirt or two.

I believe there were two locations last year: top deck next to the pool, and in a lounge on one of the other decks--obviously. Cash is king, always, but I assume they'll take cards this time. If I recall correctly, shirts were $30.

    Thanks!

Now, I did some research on the very important aspect of drinking.

    Here is the deal:

    Cruise line:

    1. www.msccruisesusa.com

    2. onboard services

    3. beverage packages

    4. *I called. It's $57 per person, per day. The catch is this: every member of the cabin must purchase the plan. It is "all or nothing". So for 2 people, that is $456 for 4 days.

For comparison's sake, the M.O.R. plan for two people --which caps out at 72 drink tickets--is $284 EACH for 4 days.

(total $568 if you buy two plans, which is not required)

Keep in mind that with M.O.R., we do already get non-carbonated drinks such as water, coffee, juice covered. So there really is no need to "re-pay" for that.

Put another way, if you get the M.O.R. plans you are truly just buying 'alcoholic' drink tickets, more or less.

Personally, we are leaning toward buying one package--the top tier M.O.R. one, which is 72 tickets, or 18 drinks between 2 people for four days. (she doesnt drink much!)

    Hope this helps

    Cheers!

  5. Ok so uh....what are you folks doing regarding alcohol?

Just got the M.O.R. 'drink package' emails...I think someone said earlier to contact the cruise line directly for a better deal?

    Is there a big difference?

Contact the cruise line directly.. You can get a much better deal.

All right, I will try that. Thanks!

It's coming up soon. Can't wait.

  6. but for me the first 4 songs on DED are just fillers. I know many love those songs, but I just dont. Having said that 'All My Bridges' is arguably my fav Warrant song.

I agree. I thought after the opening tracks it got much better

    agree

Wow. 'April 2031' is one of my all-time favourite songs, and 'Andy Warhol Was Right' is in my top 5 off the CD. And to top it off, the first 2 are killer hard rockers in my book. But wow, fillers? Crazy people on board here. ;)

To each his own but no way in hell those are fillers. All 4 are awesome songs.

    I concur!

That album had Jani at his creative peak. I saw a post somewhere by Jani where he talks about writing that album after he heard 'Nevermind'. Might be his old site? Not sure, but anyway he was extremely proud of that album. They all were. I feel lucky to have seen that tour in a small club.

  7. Took your advice Pete and found myself a copy for a reasonable price. Looking forward to giving it a spin when I receive it.

Enjoy. I have been listening to it again this week, just can't seem to take it out of rotation. I would have to say that this is one I would need on a deserted island ---thus, it is in my top ten of all time.

It is a good album, but "Ready To Go" is still my favorite Bang Tango album.

Wow - ok, looks like I need to pick up 'Ready to Go" as well

Hadn't heard much about that one either, but if you like it better than L.O.D...I will certainly buy it and check it out

    Thanks

  8. I was just thinking about the great rock n roll releases that got killed by the onslaught of grunge, most infamously tied to 1992.

Here is my list, in no particular order...share yours!

    • Cinderella - Still Climbing
    • Steelheart - Tangled in Reins
    • Warrant - Dog Eat Dog
    • Electric Boys - Groovus Maximus
    • Wildside - Under the Influence
    • Great White - Psycho City
    • Saigon Kick - Water
    • Kings X - Dogman
    • Tesla - Bust a Nut

    surely I am missing several...!
