  1. Ahhh... if you are correct on Kingdom Come that would explain the lack of hype. I had read a blurb but it sounds like you have done more research, and I do recall that thing regarding Scorpions. Agreed the first two albums are essential and by far my favorite releases from the band.

If they add Electric Boys, it's 100% certain I will go. I am trying to go anyway for the D-A-D, Saigon Kick, Armored Saint and Kingdom Come.

Wish they would get Zodiac Mindwarp on there, too.

  2. I will also have to go with Cherry Pie. While a great song it completely overshadows Jani's original vision for the album. The more I listen to the album the more I realize just how much of a masterpiece it is. And sadly they will forever be known for Cherry Pie and nothing else. Jani's brilliance completely overlooked.

Well said, but not for me -- 'Dog Eat Dog' album is their masterpiece and I am very much aware of it!

RIP, Jani...the band is really not good without you.

"Shakin The Blues" -- Screaming Cheetah Wheelies

  3. I get to see these guys again on Saturday (80's in the Park, Melbourne FL, USA)

    1) Cocked and Loaded

    2) LA Guns

    3) Waking the Dead

    4) Tales From the Strip

    5) Hollywood Vampires

    6) Hollywood Forever

    7) Man in the Moon

    8) the rest....

Last year they played a great cover of Fairies Wear Boots!

Maybe I will yell at Phil to play "Star" from his Torme record 'Back to Babylon'...

  4. I can't believe I have to start this topic....well actually, yes I can since I wasn't impressed with the lineup until this week.

I'll get right to it -- EAST COAST has added D-A-D!!!

    :guitar: :taz:

Yes, that underrated thinking man's rock band from Denmark.

If that ain't enough, these guys are also on board:

    1. ARMORED SAINT (have you HEARD "Win Hands Down"???)
    2. KINGDOM COME (original lineup, from what I heard)
    3. SAIGON KICK (original lineup)
    4. Killer Dwarfs
    5. Helix
    6. Dangerous Toys
    7. Doro
    8. Helloween
    9. Metal Church
    10. Y&T
    11. John Corabi
    12. Vinnie Moore
    13. Steve Vai
    14. more.....

Suddenly thinking about shelling out the money for this one. I doubt this American will get another shot at seeing D-A-D, much like seeing SAXON that last time around...

Anyone else thinking about it / got tix?

  5. Wow, nobody trashed me for that? Impressive.

--- I think I was thinking of "Trixter". Thought for sure I saw them on this lineup for 2014? Don't see them on there now though.

I won't "troll" this thread any longer - I do wish i could go, despite my rants.

Karpet, hope you get to go!

Gonna be some fine music on that boat....wish I could hear Winger belt out "Time to Surrender".

  6.

...really glad that i went on the LAST one!

Looks like they went in the direction of Nelson rather than Saxon. Pity.

I think you will be in the minority of those that think the 2014 lineup is a pity. Just sayin'.

Yes, on here perhaps I am in the minority. And of course I would like to do this cruise pretty much every year.

...But Tyketto? They had the "motorcycle video", right? Some motorcycle video with 'love' in the title?

THAT compares to Helix, Rhino Bucket, Bang Tango, Black n Blue, Alcatrazz, and L.A. Guns?

    No, methinks not.

  7. What everyone else has said ... and then some. The original film was pretty good ... why fix what ain't broke? Of course, if Hollywood would like to re-do any of the sequels and make THEM into decent films ... ;)

Yep, what a waste of time and effort. There are loads of really good comics (and novels) out there that haven't been made into films, so why bother 'rebooting' one that is already a decent film? Or what about remaking some of the ones that have been completely f***ed up, like 'A History of Violence', 'Spawn' or 'Ghost Rider'? :(

Constantine ... with Sean Bean in the title role. I think even Hugh Grant would make a better John Constantine than Keanu Reeves :)

    uh...what?

    Thought that movie ruled!

Admit though, Bean would be great. Perhaps continue, using him, since Reeves has opted out?

I would like to see SGT. ROCK come to life on the screen. Gi Joe is just terrible...maybe let Tarantino direct a SGT. ROCK movie?

They were darker comics, anyway. Good stuff.

  8. Well, I can't forget this cruise just yet. And although it is unlikely I can attend the 2014 version, I must say I've been thinking about the lineup I would like to see (on the off chance I could somehow make it onboard again).

Here's what I think would be a killer lineup, with some returning members and some notable additions:

    • Whitesnake
    • Electric Boys
    • D.A.D
    • Bang Tango
    • L.A. Guns (full strength this time!!)
    • Helix
    • Ugly Kid Joe
    • Night Ranger
    • Europe
    • Kix
    • Black n Blue
    • Rhino Bucket
    • American Dog
    • Clutch
    • Nightshade (Q5 members)
    • Saigon Kick (they reunited!)
    • White Lion (if reunited, with Bratta)
    • Accept
    • Faster Pussycat
    • Zodiac Mindwarp and Love Reaction

Is that 20? Guess I will stop at 20. Of course there are other good bands who'd make it fun, but if this lineup came to be....I would have to sell the house or something and go!

Ok maybe a couple more: Krokus, HSAS (you heard yet?), Armored Saint, Anthrax, Kings-X, Motorhead

  9. Britney Fox ...and Def Leppard.

Britney had the middle slot for Def Leppard Hysteria tour. They stood still and played mediocre mid-tempo bullshit for an hour. "Long Way to Love" was just ok.

Kix was the other band---jumping all over and enthusiastically blasting their tunes in a ridiculously short 25-minute set.

KIX blew away both Britney Farts and Deaf Lepresy. I remember being angry that the only tune DL played from 'High n Dry' was a keyboard-heavy "Bringin On The Heartbreak" . Had to suffer through lots of slow and midtempo tunes...I guess the boys just wanted to get laid that tour. Most of the crowd loved it, of course. It was good to see Rick succeeding after his arm accident. But, if he could play those songs then he could also have played their better, harder songs? They just made a conscious, commercial decision. I never went to see them again after that.

Wish KIX had played for two hours instead of the others - and I told Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant that very thing recently on M.O.R. tour. He laughed

    ...and so the story ends.

  10. Sweet! A fitting home for that track, methinks. Thanks for digging up the info! I'll have to order that edition of the cd now:

    5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! January 3, 2013

Great album by the Tubes but so much better now that they have released the extra track "Gonna get it next time" from the Modern Problems soundtrack! Love it!!!

  11. I heard a rumor one time that it appeared on ONE little known 'best of' Tubes disc. I think it was 'Gold' in the title or something? it's long outta print of course.

But maybe that is a starting point! If i remember correctly, it is not even on the Modern Problems sntrk!? But it is the most memorable tune in the dang movie.
