i had this experience today:

i received a cd that i won 1 month ago, only to discover that it is the russian, cd-maximum version. In the description it was stated that it's a "european import".

I am completely dissatisfied with this fact, and it's stated clearly on the CD that it should not be sold outside Russia and the Baltic states. Besides, on the ebay page of the item it is stated as item location "uk", while my cd was shipped from Russia.

can i claim a refund for this? I never opened the cd, it's still sealed.

Then i would say Mike Vescera. Goran Edman is great too, but Vescera suits more.

exactly, even with 8$ the cost is nothing, this cd can be sold for more than this, i agree.

HOWEVER

i'm sick of people trying to have profit from s&h and i'm sick of arguing about it, too. So if a seller asks 1-2$ more than the regular price, i say "what the hell" and i pay them.

BUT

the price of shipping a single cd from anywhere in the states to anywhere in europe is 4$. period. (with the exception maybe of 1-2 states who may have special charges but i'm not sure about it)

I have friends in the states and we trade cds from time to time. How come they didn't ask never more than 4$ than a single jewel case, sometimes with more than 1 cd in it? Besides, when the parcels arrive i can see how much the seller paid, and it's always overcharged.

anyway, as i said before i don't complain about the specific auction, it was just a bargain lost and nothing more

If I'm interested in a CD, and the seller has not specified an exact shipping price to my country, I always contact them prior to bidding and ask them what shipping would be to my address; keeps situations like this from arising.

indeed,that what i usually do, too but the cd costed only 3$ and i said "wtf, even if a pay a buck more on s&h it's still pretty cheap"...

apart from that, there's not a single seller on ebay that doesn't make profit from s&h as well...

ah, btw a week after i won this, the same item was again on auction (multiple copies you could say) on a higher price. and after that, they removed all their items from selling.

anyway, i didn't lose anything from this case (except the bargain price of the cd of course)

man, i don't know what's going on these last weeks

i never had a single problem with ebay and now i've got problems with all my last 3 auctions. Yes, i had another incident, just this afternoon after i paid for some cds my seller ceased being an ebay seller, i don't know how this will end.

anyway, the item is the following:

what happens in this occasion? It's been 25 days since i bought a cd with "buy it now", but i didn't pay at once. I sent an email requesting s&h costs and i got a reply a few days later than it would cost 8$ to ship the cd overseas. I responded back complaining that it's too much and never got an answer. The seller's feedback score is 15 with several negatives for no response... Since i didn't pay after all, should i let it go? It was a cd that i really wanted, with only 3$... that's why i want to know if i can demand it or report the situation to ebay.

i see that hamilton is no longer a registered user and i still havent got my refund.

yes this is the guy. so he knows they are bootlegs.

and this one definitely is, there are not written even the names of the people that play in the cd, nothing!

can i ask for a refund? Problem is that since i opened it its condition changed from SS to Mint-never played. (although he could seal it again i suppose)

what are my options in this case?

Well I now have sold 4 different versions of this album. Their is also two versions I have yet to sell with a bonus cd and two cd's on one CD.

These come from the same place my others came from and I have had no other problems?

the cd was sealed and the disc is new, which makes me even more suspicious.

the disc is black and it's written only impellitteri*screaming symphony on it.

print quality not the best also. but i remember that printing on the european version of system x was awful, too.

i guess it's a bootleg. what are my rights in this occasion?

I bought a copy of Impellitteri's Screaming Symphony and it just arrived. It was sealed, it has no OBI and the catalog number is VICP-5729. It's pretty strange that it has no artwork at all, except the cover which is printed on a single page. I highly suspect that it's a bootleg.

you could easily add to the topic EXCITER, and AGENT STEEL. I haven't voted yet though. I dont care much about thrash/speed anymore

haha yes, i've seen this guy. "I'm not sure if it's the first edition"... this is ridiculous.

And these bootlegs seem endless, as if they were pressed in 2349583498 copies...

yes, crisis vs crisis sounds really bad, i never found the courage to listen to all of it...

it most be the worst glory album though, but i dont think that any of them is really exceptional either...

It was weird...it seems that 3 or 4 copies got listed within a couple months of each other here recently.

you know, the bastards that expect 1000$ for a single cd have some tricks up their sleeve... For example i know of traders that found some copies of a rare item (lets say 10 or even more) and they auctioned them slowly, like 1 every some months so that the item will continue to appear as "very rare"...

he is one of my favorite vocalists. he has such a warm, emotional voice... kinda time consuming creating this poll because his discography is huge...

my favorite pick is Eclipse from the Maestro...

then coming up the Norum album, the best of Richard Andersson, Madison, Reingold, Street Talk... so many cool albums!

Soldier of Fortune is by far my favorite.

last time it showed up it ended at about 900$ i think. i find it unacceptable however that cds would end at such high prices... not matter how "rare" they are, they are just cds and are not made of gold.
