  1. American Angel - S/T

Hearing it for the first time, and gettin' blown away!!! Amazing!! Pure quality!!

    :banger:

awesome album! all their stuff is good though. and that singer is so unique you know its them as soon as he sings, a mark of a great band. Check out the song "If Love Is So Blind" from their second album, the EP. That's in my opinion one of the best rock songs ever written. I'd put it up against any song from any genre.

  2. I havent had a haircut in 5 years. haircuts are overrated. In fact the only time I cut anything is when I cut my nails, which I usually end up regretting when I get that itchy booger deep in my nose that I can't pull out. I'd consider myself an adaquete nose picker overall though, so I'm not too bummed. My cat is always bugging me for attention too, so if I'm picking my nose my boogers end up on her fur quite often. No worries though, she licks them off, not me.

Wow... this deserves a 'Holy shitballs!!!'

Poor kittys seem to be taking a beating of late on the board...

my cat is awesome actually. when she was a kitten every second I got I'd be petting her and telling her I loved her. And she got in the habit of falling asleep on my lap. I've never seen an animal love one person or thing as much as my cat loves me. She was so attentive and willing to listen to me I have her trained better than most dogs. She can sit, lay down, get down (Which I tell her alot as shes constantly knocking over my stacks of CD's on my desk), come, stay, meow (which she does so quietly and as cute as possible). When I ask her if she wants to go out she runs to the door if she does. When I ask her if she wants a treat 99.9% of the time she jumps up points her tail in the air and starts rubbing her face against my leg and trying to look as cute as ever. I swear she understands almost everything I say. She even sleeps with me every night and she waits by the window for me to come home when I'm at work. I can always count on her being there waiting for me when I come home :)

The downside of being loved so much is that she's constantly on my lap or putting her paws on my head wanting attention and petting. I can't get on the computer until I've given her a good 10 minutes when I get home from work.

And oh, get this. I'm actually half deaf due to nerve damage so my alarm clock never wakes me up, but when it goes off she crawls off on my chest and puts her paw in my face to wake me up. She's gentle enough never to hurt me and its the cutest thing I've ever woken up to.

  3. I went with Poison. Here's my quick summary of my list in order:

Poison - 'Look what the cat dragged in' ; awesome debut and IMO a defining moment in glam hard rock. Perfect stuff.

Warrant - 'Dirty Rotten Filthy stinkin' rich' ; killer debut. Love it.

Ratt - 'Out of the cellar' ; killer debut and arguably their best album.

Bon Jovi - s/t ; great disc. Great debut.

Motley Crue - 'Too fast for love' ; great debut that some argue is their best. Awesome.

Dokken - 'Breaking the chains' ; love the band, hate this CD. As Chad says, brilliant catalogue but weak first disc.

Def Leppard - 'On through the night' ; awful disc, awesome band. I hate this but love all their other discs.

I went for Poison too, pretty easy choice for me its one of my favorite discs.

Bon Jovi woul dhave been number 2, followed by Motley Crue, Warrant, and Ratt which would round out the very good debut albums for me. Dokken's debut was pretty blah. Def Leppard's debut was garbage, agreed. It was like they were a totally different band between their first and second albums. Different style, different sound....

  5. Paragon - The Gods Made Heavy Metal

what a killer tune. reminds me of Manowar's 'Number One' musically. I especially love the lyrics:

    The gods made heavy metal

and they saw that it was good

they said to play it louder than hell

and we promised that we would

when losers say its over with

    know that its a lie

    the gods made heavy metal

    and its never gonna die

  6. I got this one a few days back and I have to say its pretty bland and by the numbers. Bice's vocals don't sound as good on the higher registers and the choruses blend together too much. I enjoy the slower songs more. I guess nothing is terrible on the disc but nothing hit me hard.

On the flip side I also got Carrie Underwood's new album at the same time and I really enjoyed that one a lot. I counted 5 gems of songs on it, but sadly I'm in the wrong forum to hype up a country album so I'll just end this with the right person won Idol last year.

    :P

  7. I just listened to Kix - S/T for the first time and wow does Whitman sound young. I really liked the Kix are for kids tune, I wasn't expecing to, but it has some great music and fun lyrics, and the stoyr at the end of Yeah Yeah Yeah was really funny :)

I also spun their second album for the first time and heard some real good tunes. Burning Love isn't typical Kix but a real good tune, Mighty Mouth was good, but Body Talk was an instant classic to my ears and I can't wait to hear it again. Awesome groove in that one.

  8. Shattered - Pink Cream 69

    Hello Geoff,

on which PC69 album is this song ? I can't find it on mine. Or do you mean "Shattered Prophecy" ?

    Thanks

    Swazi

its that spectacularly average song from Games People Play.

Yeah, Kip is half right :P . The song is from 'Games People Play', but it is a spectacular riff driven monster of a track which is the opus of PC69's career and a focal point in hard rock history, at least for me anyway. :)

Thanks to both of you !! :) Tastes differ as we all know. ;)

The Games People Play is one of their albums I am still missing. Besides this song, do you recommend it ??

I say it's worth getting just for the two tracks "Keep Your Eye On The Twisted" and "Till You're Mine" which are two of pink cream's best. Everything in their catalogue is worth picking up except "Change".
