About 8 years ago, I posted a list of demos, CD's and records I owned. (remember when bragging as such was a "cool" thing to do?) Apparently the list is still floating in cyberspace with an old e-mail address I use on occasion. Recently, I have been receiving some very demanding e-mails from some folks insisting that I send them CDr's of titles of mine that are out of print and demos that were barely released except to friends and family. Several are out of Eastern Europe (which are obviously bootleggers) and one of the guys is someone named "Sean Kaufmann". Is he a legit guy or is this a front for the Retrospect Records gang reissuing everything under the sun? I don't do trade mainly because it is a pain in the butt and I got burned by that Manny Comres cornhole pretty bad a decade ago. Thank you. Mertz

sometimes questions get so extreme and people are so incredibly anal with them that i just tell them sorry because it looks like no matter what mertz's says they will not be happy if they make the purchase.

the 3 worst countries to sell stuff to:

australia - no wonder, england sent all their criminals there! nothing but schyster traders and ebay buyers.

greece - until a year ago it was a bastion of fraud at least sonic age records has improved the image.

ecuador - maybe their post office owns an ebay shop because nothing ever gets there.

don't expect pc answers from mertz i paint with a very broad brush.

thank god we have a free country where people can charge their own prices. if he dies in a pyre of pyromania no big deal. someone in the middle of nowhere might just buy it. everybody is not in the know so to speak.

having sold on ebay and gemm in the past i got sick of buyers who wanted to dictate their price and justify it with their own propaganda. they were iggyed and their email address added to the mertz spam list.

mertz is not on the attack just questioning what is going on. how can auction a for bashful go for $400 and auction b at the same time for bashful go for $40. money is not the issue some folks inherit it others earn it and mertz sleeps on his. i still smell a rat.

this "guy" is driving the market up up up. $400 + for bashful that went in another auction the same week for $44. mertz smells something fishy i wonder when some of these cds will show up for auction again and by whom.

when i tried selling on ebay and gemm at one time all i received were emails from shrewd folks trying to talk me out of my collection cheap. i may be underemployed but mertz is no fool.

are some of kiss my discs prices outrageous - yes

are some people wealthy / dumb enough to pay them - yes

then i applaud pj and company for being smart enough to know how to make money. capitalism works! communism or socialism do not work!

if you can't afford the price of something why complain? just like i can't afford an h2 so i drive an old station wagon with faux wood paneling.

even warren buffett is a cheapskate. everybody has a certain amount of tight-fistedness in them. if one or two dealers corner the market on a rare cd applaud them for finding it or blame yourself for not being as industrious.

i am working for a low wage thus i use shareazaa or kazaa and burn my own rare stuff. could i improve myself yes but i am not very motivated thus i am where i am by my own laziness.

in viva las vegas i actually found 3 great stores 2 years ago. luckily i had an extra bag for my stuff. one was a pawn shop on the way to hoover dam. the other 2 were across the street from each other about 6 miles off the strip heading towards the national park. i bought around 25 cds total as they were $4 each in all the stores since i was buying junk so to speak. college boy trash is mertz' treasure.

well pj, they are listed online as www.cdthen.net which i believe is actually linking to an aol site. my package came from arizona, not sure what town and when i looked on the site they were strictly web only it appears. they sell on amazon, ebay, and their homepage. the spider and rock goddess i bought years ago were legit silver cds. but the night and point blank discs i purchased recently are cdrs. the owner finally did send me a replacement point blank disc which is still a cdr! they sell at $12.99 which is fair enough but if i want to be motivated i can take anything in my musty smelling record boxes and make cdrs out of them. if they said cdr upfront, no problem, but selling on amazon and doing that, just not cool.

btw acting like a rookie??? u better keep them poker sun glasses on veteran!

captain remind me to buy all your lousy cds as the nitro is in the mertz mobile (74 vista cruiser with wood grain paneling) all the time! i am more likely to buy a cd if it says poor mans ****** with lousy production as opposed to hyping to deth an underproduced piece of crap. if i know it is crap and buy it so be it. some of the descriptions i read are more painful than getting my hairy back waxed.
