Excellent album. Very cool singer, love his tone.

I'm going to say something that many may consider blasphemous (at least based upon the commentary on the board thus far): Of the three Aug. 26 releases from Frontiers, I think this one may be the best of the three...
I agree also, its excellent,Cruzh isn't bad either but King company aint getting me atm
King Company is excellent. The 3 Frontiers releases are all highly enjoyable.

well I like more Enuff Z'Nuff songs than Cheap Trick though
+1
+2. I have no time at all for Cheap Trick bar 'The Flame' and the 'Busted' album.
Paraphenalia, Seven and 10 are all excellent albums. You could throw their best 20 to 30 songs up against anybody else's, regardless of genre, without embarrassment.
Their debut album which was their most successful is their worst in my opinion.
Wow, strong words. I wonder how many people would agree with you? If any. I personally hate those three albums you mention, but what on earth do you dislike so much about their debut? For me, it's their best album.
I just felt that the songs on the debut album lacked the maturity that subsequent albums had. Obviously the hit songs on the debut album were excellent but the majority of other songs on that album were average at best.
Future songs like How Are You, Someday, Home Tonight, Joni Lynn and There Goes My Heart are indicative of the greatness that is Donnie Vie and Enuff Znuff.Songs like Kiss The Clown and Finger On The Trigger, not so much.

The issue I have with Enuff Znuff without Vie is the fact that from all reports, he wrote the melodies.
Without him , will the songs be as good?. Time will tell I guess.

They seem to be getting heavier. Cool song.
They do release a lot of albums but
that being said I think you could match their best 15 to 20 songs against
anyone elses without embarrassment. A very good melodic rock band.

This album is one of the better albums I've heard this year. I give it a 74% rating.
I gave it 74% too... and it's 42nd on my list so far!
My best mark so far is 79.5%.The Care Of Night album. A great album for me is 85% plus.
Nothing close to great this year, so far.
Did you steal my list, buddy? Samey here (actually 78,75%). I need, though ,to allow some time to see if the opener and closer raise their status to 10/10 tracks. Actually as soon as I finish my 1989/1990 ratings!
Eclipse is at the top of my list.
I got Eclipse 4th at 78%.Where do you guys have the new TOTO album?

I have purchased the album based on that one song alone.
-
A good, solid album. I think the last one was a little better, but they always seem to produce quality.
-
There are some fine songs on this album.
One of the albums of the year so far. Pleasantly surprised.
-
Lee Small has special pipes. In the AOR world, he is right up there.

With you.I'm clicking quote but it ain't quoting.

I loved their previous release.
-
Anyone digging this album?.
It's a little bit heavier than usual, but im enjoying it.

Saw this on MR today myself... and of course I'll be buying this one. Love me some P.O.L., and from Toby's description, I think this one has potential to be GREAT!
Great voice,look forward to it.

OK, the recent furor over the 100% rating given to Journey's "Eclipse" got me to digging around to see what other titles have gotten a perfect rating from Andrew over the years, and here they are:
Mecca - S/T
Danger Danger-Cockroach
Danger Danger- The Return of the Great Gildersleeves
Harem Scarem- Higher
Harem Scarem- Weight of the World
TNT- My Religion
Toto- Falling in Between
W.E.T. - S/T
Treat - Coup De Grace
Mr. Big - What If...
Journey - Eclipse
So, simple question, are any of these worthy of a 100% in your opinion?
For that matter, do you think ANY CD is worth a perfect 100% score?
For me, from the list above, the TNT and Treat would be the closest, as I love both of those, but neither would be quite 100% in my opinion.
I know some people say there is no such thing as a perfect CD; 100% across the boards on songwriting, instrumentation, vocals, song structure, running order, cover art, packaging, etc...
Personally, I go in a slightly different direction, and think that every person should have at least one 100% CD that they can compare all other CDs to. Dokken's Back For the Attack is the disc that I measure all other CDs against. For me, BFtA is a 100 and I rank everything else relevant to that. Van Halen's 5150 would be a 99 for me, as would Y&T's Earthshaker. Treat's Coup De Grace is probably a 97 or 98, and TNT's My Religion would probably be a 95 or 96. See where I'm going with this? Anyone else kinda rank CDs similarly to this, or am I the lone nutjob?
I know some people think there are quite a few perfect CDs out there, and I'd love to see those lists too. It's just interesting to see how different folks look at the matter.
I agree with you.I actually take the view that
there isn't a CD worthy of 100%.90plus% albums
should be the exceptional albums. Are the above
11 albums equally as good?.I dont think so.But
going by the ratings, they are.

Ageed
Definately one to get.
-
haven't heard any news about it but lookin' forward to it
Great album.Wasnt it written by the
guys who did the Vega CD?.
-
Great band.There is nothing
wrong with being prolific,especially
if its good.

Excellent melodic album. I would have loved it if it was slightly more heavier but no doubt, the songs are there.
