    One of the lines from the description pretty much says it all:

     

    "This is a rare 10 song CD from amazing Canadian hair metal band Slash L.A. which released their album on cassette tape in 1989."

     

    That's right.... cassette tape, not CD.

     

    This auction says it's a silver at least.

  2. yeah but you're essentially only paying for the artwork as a physical cd-r can be picked up pretty easily by anyone fan or not .

     

    CD-rs have a shelf life though of about 10 years if you're lucky, less or more depending on various conditions. With a pressed disc, you'll be able to listen to it 100 years from now.

     

    Not true at all - all cd's have a shelf-life.

     

    You are right, my point was one should still expect that a properly pressed CD will last much longer than a properly burned CD-r. And of course the years I said are mostly estimates, based on that.
