DOOGIE WHITE.....because i love the gem MIDNIGHT BLUE :P

i like MIKE VESCERA very much too, especially on the Magnum Opus album.

Joe Lynn Turner!!

I just LOVE the Odyssey album..... :P

Same here.........JLT sounded amazing on that album. That may have been his peak. Jeff Scott Soto is also a great singer as well as Goran Edmund, Mike Vescera, and Mark Boals. Man, Yngwie had some great singers.

all are great (JSS is the obvious option) but i'm sucker for goran edman and what a great frontman.....and one of the few complaints of my life is that i never manage to see him live with yngwie,ah well....still i'm missing the miami vice boot with him..... :(

Trilogy is by far my favorite YJM release regardless of vocalist...

ditto.

As far as Yngwie goes for me is he has bucket loads of talent, but his music has never been something ive really wanted to listen to over and over..i like to hear him when he's in a 'Band'..Steeler/Alcatrazz.Same with Vai :DLR.Alcatrazz,Whitesnake and so on.Id rather listen to and prefer the Lynch/Demartini style of guitar over the whole neo-classical bit.

I still go with Mats Leven and the Facing the Animal album.

Here's my fav list based on what they did with Malmsteen not the order of how I feel about them as vocalists over all.

I think some of the votes Soto got in this poll have been based on what he did outside of Malmsteen's band.

1. Leven

2. JLT

3. Soto

4. Edman

5. Boals

6. Michael Vescera

7. Owens

8. White

Boals did a great job on the Trilogy album. That album includes the best Yngwie song IMO. The utterly fantastic You don't remember, I'll never forget. But his other albums with Yngwie was quite bad. War to end all wars was complete rubbish.

The mighty Goran Edman followed by JLT anf JSS.

I derive no enjoyment from Yngwie's albums, therefore I don't listen to them, but from the vocalists listed, my vote goes to Jeff Scott Soto.

IMO best Yngwie albums are with Edman

I agree about "Eclipse", which is a great album, but "Fire and Ice" was pretty damn boring IMO.

JLT is my favorite out of all of them, however, I always thought Mark Boals fit the band the best. Boals gets my vote.

    • Another great result, cob. Cool vocals on that one too. And with V4. I must admit, I have basically just shunned V4 completely. I just kind of want to finish everything I have already worked on in V3.5 and then maybe later I'll look at V4, or hopefully something better by then, as I'm still several months away from that day. Just too many issues I kept having with it.  Sounds like a cool idea to release the album and then as you're working on album two, of new songs, you could drop the alternate version as a way to tie the fans over between releases. I'll be curious to see what you do on YouTube. You doing lyric videos, some sort of relevant video, AI video, perhaps? You got a plan?  If I was doing it for the clicks, and if you wanted to try that way, my advice to you would probably be to really emphasise the 80's "hair metal" imagery with what you release. Whether that just be an AI picture of a hair metal band or something... I dunno. I get the impression that probably invites more clicks, but that's just a guess. Could be way off mark.  I'm kind of enjoying my path, but would not recommend, lol. Like you say, though, and I am 100% with you on it, this stuff's just a bit of fun for ourselves, and if others are interested that's cool, but if not it's cool too. Like I say, I'm enjoying it and I have set myself a goal on YouTube and I actually wonder if it could be a record... I dunno, but I want to see if I can release 100 videos (which sounds like a lot, but if and when I get through this backlog, I have the means) with less than 10 subscribers, lol. 99.9% sure I can achieve it, and that's my first kind of benchmark.  All good fun. I'm looking forward to your release and the YouTube stuff too. I'm all aboard.
    • Darkstone - I Only Know You're Here (2024)  Well, I've managed to sneak another one in by the end of the year, so that makes it 10. Not sure if this is the final version yet though. I wanna follow Geoff's lead and post this stuff on youtube, etc over Christmas. Just for my own satisfaction of course. I've got several versions of each song, but unlike as I mentioned above, I think I'm gonna go with a 10 track "album" featuring my favourite version of each one, then post the alt versions on a separate "album". I'm using quotation marks, because it's all so bit of fun really, but still incredibly satisfying.    https://suno.com/song/46eaf427-bc89-45d6-82d0-b71072b2b031
