MASTERPLAN - Mk.II

 

I really really like this, but why oh why didn't they stick with Andy Sneap on production? Grapow's own production job is decent, but the vocals are totally buried in the mix. Some great songs though...

 

Tim - does the new singer have his own style or he's just a Lande copy ?

 

No he'a different type of vocalist. He's not as powerful as Jorn but he's probably better suited to this new material. Truthfully it's quite hard to tell how good he is as the vocals are so far down in the mix compared to the guitar. After the comments about Jorn leaving because he wanted to go in a more melodic direction I really thought this would be heavier than it is but it's very straight-ahead (no more 7/8 minute epics) & has quite a few keys... It's the best MASTERPLAN album so far IMHO.
