Nazareth - Surviving the Law

Solid disc featuring Carl Sentance's second go round on vocals; that lead off track "Strange Days" is particularly good! :banger:

Yeah, this a great album; this one surprised me, and in a good way.

Journey - Live in the Neon Babylon (2019 bootleg featuring Jeff Scott Soto on vocals)

Yep, that's Arnel Pineda, not JSS, on the cover

From the liner notes:

Following Journey s lengthy hiatus between 1987 & 1995, they re-united under new management, signing with Irving Azoff, long-time Eagles manager in late 95. Trial by Fire, released in 1996, included the hit single When You Love a Woman , which was nominated for a Grammy the following year, marking a new period of success in the group s fortunes, although vocalist Steve Perry left the band in 1998, after discovering the presence of a medical condition.

Perry was replaced by Steve Augari, who performed with Journey through to 2006, when he was dropped by the group mid-tour. For nearly a year, Jeff Scott Soto from Talisman (and previously vocalist on Yngwie Malmsteen s first two albums) filled in with the band for several months, who referred to him as their official lead singer.

By the time the group performed at the Reno Events Center, in Reno, NV, on 3rd September 2006, Soto was already in place, and proved a stunning new lead singer, as the recording featured on this CD from the aforementioned show attests.

Broadcast live on local FM radio, this remains perhaps Journey s finest live performance from their later years, featuring as it does the extraordinary vocal abilities of a man who stayed with Journey little more than a year, yet remains fans favourite Journey singer, save for the legend that remains Steve Perry.
