Various - Powermad 2000 Festival Sound Sampler

For some reason I don't have this one.

Listed to 1997 and 1999 Powermad last week. Love all the Mystic Force and Division stuff. The Twisted Tower Dyer is pretty cool too.. I'll be seeing Mystic Force and Twisted in a couple weeks.

Cool, man. I never went to a Powermad fest but I picked up this CD (I assume it was handed out to all Festival attendees?) over the weekend ... it was just such an unexpectedly weird, obscure, out of left field kinda disc to find in a rinky dink thrift shop in New Jersey that I just couldn't leave it there! :rofl2:

There's quite a few bands on here that I'd always wanted to check out but never had the chance (Attacker, Forte, Control Denied, Breaker, October 31, etc., etc.) ... there's also some no-name bands that deserved to stay no-names but thankfully they're outnumbered by the good stuff, haha.

Did every band that appeared on these comp CDs actually play at the Powermad Festival? Cuz geez, this thing is two CDs, something like 27 or 28 bands... if they all gigged at the festival, that must've been one hell of a marathon show. :P

Toby Hitchcock - Mercurys Down

(So awesome its just not right!!)

It is good and he has an incredible voice. Would have been a keeper for me if it hadn't been for 'If It's to Be (It's Up to Me)' and 'Summernights in Cabo'. The first of those two especially is so bad, I could just never listen to the album all the way through.

Ha ha Cabo is one of my top picks

A whole host of obscure Black Metal stuff on a handful of underground compilations ... the evidence would suggest that there's a very good reason why these bands are obscure :)
