Dino Jelusic of "Animal Drive". A recent-ish tribute to Ray Gillen. The original  "Badlands" version is a killer and Dino certainly does it justice. I'm expecting big things from this kid in the futur

In the ashes of the daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn  Your restless soul keeps running freeeeeeeeeeeeee, It's like asking the wind to belong to meeeeeeeeeeee You won't let me gooooooooooooo

This was without doubt, the song that sent "Van Halen" into the stratosphere.  I guess today also marks the end of "Van Halen". They couldn't possibly replace Eddie and we would all be disgusted

basically it is songs that get stuck in your head and you can't get rid of it or a song that you heard and had to hear again and again.

Both, kind of, I think- for anybody else asking the same thing 😉

I heard this phrase used on an unrelated youtube video today and the memories came flooding back. I hadn't heard this one in a while.

I was working in the vicinity of a great music store called "Radical Records" today and had the pleasure of meeting my first forum member. This one's for you Doggy. Keep on Rockin' brother.

I always loved the Beastie Boys album "Licence to ill". "Fight for your right" is legendary. This is also a great fun track.

The biggest hurdle I have when it comes to listening to new music is the fact that I love listening to my old favorites. There's only so many hours in the day. Here's one from the vaults that I'm sure you all know, but haven't heard in a while. I got this album when I was 19 and it was on heavy rotation. A "One in a Million" album, you might say.

This is Gary Hughes's "Candle in the Wind" moment. His lyrics are poetry, as usual. The line "and soft is the Tourniquet" is particularly moving.

Love this album. John Sykes seems to be another one of those great artists to have "fallen through the cracks".

This one popped up on youtube. It caught my attention, for obvious reasons. It's not new, but what an absolute honey and what a voice! She has quite a few videos of covers featuring old school hard rock classics. Haven't checked them out yet.

Not the usual HH fare, but I love this song. I had the 12" single when it was released in '87. "Roachford" weren't really well know down here back then. Fast forward to '94 and another great track, "Only to be with you" comes from out of nowhere and dominates the charts.

Was listening to this the otehr day as a friend recommended it. Never been a fan, but I have to say the CD is pretty good.
Was familiar with Teenagers which is a great song so I gave it a go.
This is the other standout song.

When I was growing up there was always records in the house. This single was the first piece of recorded music that I owned, with my name written on it. I was about three. The second single I had was "Disco Duck". I've come a long way baby.

Songs of the day. Three of 'em. One of my favourite vocalists is also imho, very, very, underrated. Tony Martin. I love Ronnie, but without doubt the Tony Martin "Black Sabbath" era was my favourite. So many side projects as well. These three only scratch the surface.

    • So I just heard this song, you all probably know of it, or not, I fucking really really like this song, I think it fucking rocks, but rocks in like a crossover Punk-Goth-Raw Hard Rock throwback to the Black Flag - Loose Nut type days, this song is completely raw, unpolished, and just dirty,
    • I know a few years ago I posted the very first BA song off his very first album, pretty much sarcastically, as it made me want to throw on some daisy dukes, roller skates and bop up and down my street chewing bubble gum and dancing, well I was wrong, it wasn't his first song, this one is, and guess what? it's a million times better then his old first song, I even got the disco remix, this is pure hilarity, I couldn't stop laughing after hearing this, and like his other first song, this has a mind tormentingly catchy beat to it, caution it will lure you in and get you, also, some company out of Canada BA deals with hunts uploads of this song down with intensity, anyone that gets uploaded to YouTube generally is caught by it's bots on the UL, if not that company snags it within a couple days, so I had to upload an artist who has a similar name and his song that also has a similar name, lets see how long we can keep this up there, and why the fuck does that company care if it's out there? that's almost Nancy Drew script material, very fucking odd, anyway, when your done laughing,, lets hear your thoughts.
