King Kong - What can be said about a classic? Saw this one in the theater, and it's even better on DVD. Peter Jackson is the man. His version stays true to the original, and adds even more. Excellent character development and plot. Well worth buying if you like the King Kong story at all, or well worth a rent even if you don't.

**Highly Recommended**

Elizabethtown---another great Cameron Crowe movie!!!!!!

funny that Ashton K was the male lead and after a while, Cameron realized there was no chemistry between Ashton and Kristan D.

Orlando was Camerons first choice but he could not do it cause of another movie he was doing, then he got Ashton, and finally, got Orlando back!!!!!

"King Kong" (the new remake)

It was pretty kick ass...could've been about a half hour shorter IMHO, but that's probably my ADHD talkin'. Special effects were excellent, great story and performances, and DAMN how hot is Naomi Watts?

This thread hasn't been up for a while, but as noted elsewhere, I saw ' Basic Instict 2' on the weekend. Sharon Stone still has a great body, the plot was decent for a psychological thriller or whatever you want to call it... so I just have one question... where was the sex? The nudity? The hardcore R-Rated porn aspect???

Where was the reason to close the cinema down and label it a :norks: ?

So basically, it was a decent film, but I was very bored. Minimal sex, minimal action... minimal reason for others to see it. :)

Here's a scary thought Geoff... I read in the paper earlier this week that Sharon Stone sez if there is a "Basic Instinct 3," that she wants to direct it, rather than star in it. However, considering the swan dive that "B.I. 2" did at the box office (at least here in the U.S., dunno how it's doing in your neck of the woods), I would say the possibility of there ever being a third film is remote at best...

LOL. That makes me laugh. I don't think it's doing any better here either. She might be able to do a nice little movie to go straight to video/DVD, but what's the point? Anyone can get a sexy young lady and write a cheeky sex-orientated movie like 'Basic Instict'. Her new one will have absolutely NOTHING to do with the original, so why bother and why bring even more shame to the 'Basic Instinct' legacy? The only drawcard for '2' one was her presence on the screen.

'The Passion of the Christ' ; Is that what it's called? They showed it on TV complete and uncut, without adds on Good Friday? One question about the movie... why?

I thought it was dreadful. What did Mel hope to achieve with that half hour whipping scene, or the one hour cross-carrying scene? The endless slow motion "moments" between mother and son / followers and Jesus? Any form of dramatic effect was completely murdered by overkill.

And where was the lead-up, the reason for the whole thing? As a non-biblical man I was hoping to get some insight into the awful events that took place. Not in an evil way, but I was genuinely interested. The film starts with his capture and ends with his death, with only the torture inbetween.

I believe it was called tasteless at the time and I can see why. Gruesome, even for me, and one of the worst films I've ever seen.
