GRAND TORINO

Good film, slightly predictable ending though, but definitely well worth seeing....

So having watched this again, without skipping bits as I fell asleep (was on a plane!) it is seriously good. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's the best film I've seen this century so far. Very funny stuff, but also with amazing characters & Clint Eastwood (who I normally don't like one bit) is incredible. Stunningly great film.

I might go and see this instead of The Watchmen then................

Definitely do that. I don't like Clint Eastwood so I had zero expectations for it, but it blew me away (and I'm kinda hard to please with films!). Everyone should see this film....

Wow. I liked the film too. But wow. Them's some big comments. Some of the scenes with the kids, especially the young Asian girl's dialogue was just so cringe-worthy. As I said, I liked it but I wouldn't even list it near the top films I've seen this year, let alone a century! To each their own, though.

I loved the dialogue, it was very funny in places. Eastwood's acting was sensational, & I usually hate the guy. What's been a better film this year then? The only film that comes close is the last James Bond "Quantum of Solace" (which was last year I guess)....

Yeah, please note I said the films I've seen this year, not necessarily released in 2009. I think this is the only 2009 film I've seen. In fact, it definitely is. But there's a few I want to see... just can't remember now. I can't remember all the movies I've seen this year, but I preferred 'Saw IV' and 'Saw V' personally. Better films? Of course not... but I enjoyed them more. As I said, though, I definitely enjoyed 'Grand Torino'.

As for the dialogue, Eastwood had plenty of humerous moments - mostly derogatory comments about other races. I laughed several times. It was just some of the things the girl said and how she acted which really made me cringe. Like when she was talking back to those black dudes. *shudder*

A good James Bond film - lol. You giant kidder. ;)

I'm not generally a Bond fan either, not one bit (here in England they're on the TV all the bloody time), but the last 2 with Daniel Craig have been awesome action films - incredible stunts (the opening sequence in "Casino Royal" is unbelievable) & top chicks. Trust me, put your preconceptions aside & rent "Casino Royale"....

Mate you need to rectify this situation prompto..........2 of the THE best action films in recent history.

Forget Bond.......think Bourne but with a much much bigger budget.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, guys. I don't hate Bond films. They just bore me incredibly due to the fact that they'e all the same. I know these new ones will use all the advancements in technology to have spectacular action sequences and all that... and I would watch them if they were on TV or somewhere else for free, but generally I think I'd just get bored with it.

Bad guys will try to kill him, he'll use tricks to kill them and there will be sexy women along the way to his inevitable route to victory. Harmless fun, but I cringe just thinking of it and it's not something I'd actively seek out. :)

You couldnt be more wrong.

The Bond of old is dead and buried.

New Bond would kick Bourne's arse.

I was genuinely shocked by the level of violence in Casino Royale......the stairway fight being a prime example.....almost left you feeling cold it was so real.

No gadgets, no Q, no jokes.............just bloody brutal, brilliant Craig

Seriously you would be gobsmacked if you saw these films. I jest not.
