Being a leader means you have to step up and deal with it. Trump also blamed Obama for anything that went wrong in his first year (and dems claimed it was due to Obama when things went right during Trump's presidency 😂). People want it both ways. Reality is, when you are top dog, things that go wrong or right, it sits with you. Personally, Biden's washing-his hands-of-it moment really stank to me. I think a lot of true Democrats wouldn't have liked it either.

Trump halved the number of troops at the drop of a hat days before he left office - was that gradual 🤣🤣

Its the overall decision that is wrong imo. All parties, including UK and other NATO allies made this decision. Trump instigated the withdrawal for US and was banging on about America first etc etc so he's not getting off scott free in this one. He claims he would done things differently but that's bollocks sorry.

Its a mess though and I feel sorry for the Afghan people, especially the women, who will undoubtedly have their rights stripped away again ! its like going back 20 years. 

anyway before we all lose sight in this thread and start claiming that I love Biden (which I dont) and that I'm left (which I'm not) or that I actually care about US politics (which I don't 99% of the time)......

All parties are to blame in this, including NATO and the UK.

No deal with the Taliban should have been struck and a military presence should have been left there forever.

I was asking because people seemed to believe that anyone else could have and would have done a better job so I thought the question quite reasonable as I would like to know how the situation should have been handled... but the reality is that most of us have the questions and the criticisms but none of the answers....and hindsight is always 20/20....

I saw the press conference where the leader of the Taliban/Afghanistan, was asked about the rights of women in the future. He responded with a long answer about maintaining all aspects of women's rights and then ending it with, "under Sharia/Muslim Law".
