Hi-tech AOR from David Meece in 1987. This is produced by Gino Vannelli.

I was never a hi-tech AOR fan, but I thought Meece did it better than most in the Christian rock genre. I grew up in a very small private Christian school and when "Candle in the Rain" came out, all the youth-group kids started referring to Meece as "The Richard Marx of Christian music." Hey, it was the 80s...

Probably a fair comparison...

He got pretty soft and safe after Candle in the Rain. Even on this album there are only one or two songs I liked.

As far as I know, First Strike only released the one album and that was in 1984. I love the vocals on this album bit I have never managed to secure a CD. It's rare.

Unfortunately, on the Spotifies they have a different First Strike. Although, the write-up for the band is of this version. I need to hear more. Are they all on the FaceTubes?

Yeah on YouTube though hard to find. Best bet is to type "First Strike Rock of Offense" and the album should come up.

Nouveaux were in the Def Leppard/Idle Cure style of melodic hard rock with gang vocals. Pretty great stuff for 1994.

I picked this up on a whim at the Roberts Wesleyan College bookstore during my junior year and was pleasantly surprised when I got back to the dorm and cranked it up. My dormmate was into heavy stuff like Mortification, Vengeance Rising, Tourniquet, etc. and promptly asked why I had wasted my money on "wimp rock." But a few weeks later, I caught him humming the tunes, so yeah, this album was catchy as hell. Shame about that second album though...

I bought this cassette in 1991 by Brighton just based on its cover. I thought they looked rockin'. And it was on Pakaderm. But... it is more like The Alarm in sound. Still, it's... OK, sorta...

I got duped by this one as well. They had the look, they were on Pakaderm, produced by John & Dino Elefante, so it was a blind purchase for me. Not what I expected, but as you point out, it's not too shabby for what it is. That said, I understand why they were a one-and-done band.

Love this track by In-3D from their 2nd album Barrage from 1987 and it's as rare as rocking horse shit...

I've tried to find it and have been unsuccessful 😞

Bride always seemed to change their style in the 90s on each album. This is a cool track from their 1997 release with an alternative metal sound.

That's the problem with Bride: they changed their sound too fuckin' often. I'd like one album, hate the next, find the next decent, and then the next would have more weird tracks.

Superb Hi-Tech AOR album from Chris Eaton...

That is a cover of the Russ Taff song. I prefer his version but he also has Dann Huff on guitar on his Medals album.

Have to disagree, i prefer the Chris Eaton version and Mr.Huff plays on both albums. And as far as i know Chris Eaton wrote the music and he and Russ Taff wrote the lyrics.

The best 911 themed anti-terrorist song ever, bar none. Disciple don't do the "we brought it on ourselves" rubbish. They take it and do a muscular, pro-America, warrior anthem.

Songs like this are why Disciple are my favorite Christian modern hard rock/metal band. This track was actually my ringtone for a lotta years, until I finally changed it to "The Name," yet another Disciple tune.
