I hadn't heard the band before but checked them out based on that other thread listed above. Didn't like their old stuff but was quietly hopeful for this. Gotta be honest - didn't do anything for me at all. :( But hopefully it works for some.

They've been around for about 30 years so I'm guessing that you might have heard of them

Using that argument, how many people outside this forum do you think have ever heard of Tesla, Ratt etc? Gone blank, but you get the point. There are hundreds to thousands of artists/bands with 30+ year careers that none outside of their fanbase would ever have heard of.

Weezer must have a pretty big fan base then.But maybe it's only USA.

Anyways RHCP can sell their song catalogue for $140 million and I doubt anyone not in their fan base can name 3 of their songs.

I think Under the Bridge is probably $100 million in that value alone. As in, what would a company have paid them if RHCP said "every song except Under the Bridge"?

Man that is painful. If it was a hit in Australia I (thankfully) missed it. I seriously doubt it was, though. Never even heard a whisper of snippet of this song in my life. 

So regardless of whatever else is going on in this thread, are we all in agreement that these guys are horrendous? 

As for RHCP, I could only name on of their songs but I think everyone at least knows of them, even if they've had all kinds of therapy to ensure they cannot name any of their songs. Sounds like I'd have used similar therapy sessions on Weezer, if I'd ever heard of them before.

Pinkerton is great, but... I encourage people here to give Van Weezer a listen. I'm telling you, you may be surprised. (There is some tasty old school riffing... trust me).

I remembered you said that in another thread so I checked it out... and wish I'd injected myself with HIV instead. I found it horrendous, but to each all their owns. Enjoy these guys, dudes, but I find them to be musically offensive. They remind me of a D-Grade version of that awful band that sung 'Teenage Dirtbag,' and I think they even had a similar name?
