Marcie Free - Long Way From Love (1993)

Firstly, let me address the title of the thread. I've referred to her as Marcie voluntarily, out of respect. There's a big difference between that and being forced to do it legally. 

 

That being said, is this the best ever AOR album? IMO, yes, I think so.

It's a big call, but this is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, with a lot of killer albums at the time, the production could have been better, but that's a minor nitpick. 

I got this one on release and instantly knew that it was quality.

Yeah this is a decent release, probably her/his best....

Absolute masterpiece. But it wasn't a planned album as such - its songwriter demos for Judith & Robin Randall that Mark Ashton convinced them all to release.

There's another dozen songs from the same time frame - half made the Anniversary Reissue (along with the incredible live recording from The Gods) and the other half will be on the upcoming Randall Archives Box Set coming out via MelodicRock Classics

Marcie's best album though - Signal Loud & Clear. That to me is the best pure AOR album ever!

Definitely his/her best,along with Signal album. 

So many fabulous tunes,counting the ones from anniversary edition too. In it for the long run and What happened to love are majestic.

Incredible album. Marcie has one of my favourite voices in rock. 
 

Long Way From Love ranks third in my list however. Unruly Child debut takes top spot (masterpiece also) with Signal second.

Agree with this, the Unruly Child debut is an absolute classic as indeed is Signal,this one I didnt give much time to and sold my old Now & Then a long time ago.

lol, why are we all being so PC? Killer album from Mark Free.

I love all the songs on it too and it's a great disc - the only thing that would keep it out of "best ever" discussions for me is the fact that there's no (?) real drums featured on the album. The songs are still killer, but jeez I'd have loved the full band experience with this one.

If she released an album today we would all talk about Marcie Free's album.

I know what you're saying. I used to refer to Mark Free for the earlier stuff.

It's a minefield and I wouldn't bother for all examples, but this chick has earned my respect.
