Another no skip album, for me anyway. One of my all-time favourites.

Many memories associated with this album. It's a time machine for me. Always takes me back to the glory days.

They've never matched this debut. Another great party album.

The last track is the only ballad.

"I Stand Alone", "When Will It Rain", "Just Like A Devil", "Reach For Me" and "Brain Drain" are my favourites and of course, "The Lumberjack" is Legendary.

It seems not to many people are really into this band but I like them. Their first album has always been my favorite one. Just a lot of great songs on there. When Will It Rain, I Stand Alone and The Lumberjack are my favorites.

People who don't like Jackyl would mostly be because of his voice being different to the 'norm' and perhaps the redneck shtick.

But there is no good reason for Jesse's voice to be the reason (Axl, Lemmy, Ozzy, etc etc)

I think maybe they weren't given the time required to sink into the music.

Regardless, lots of killer stuff over the years (from album 2 onwards...)

Secret Of The Bottle
Locked & Loaded with Brian Johnson
Twice As Ugly
Speak Of The Devil
Push Comes To Shove
Kill The Sunshine
Headed  For Destruction
Screwdriver
Cut The Crap
Misery Loves Company
Don't Lay Down On Me
Down The Road Before

Ballad? I am guessing that is a joke, as the closest song to a ballad on this was track 4, When will it rain, and even that is not a ballad.

Good album. I like it and have no issue with it but it's probably just a tier below my favourites of the era for me. As noted, no real fillers on it but by the same token, no real killer tracks that lifted this to the next level... for me. But still a very fine album.
