Oh dear, here we go again. A thread full of people moaning about her vocals, again. Think it's all been said before, kids. We can go back over every single other Issa related thread and see the comments from last time. :(

I, for one, opened this thread because I am interested in the new tunes. To me, she holds as much - if not more - appeal than any other female fronted project. 'Crossfire' is easily one of the better albums I've heard in the last decade and I look forward to hearing what she releases next.

If the thread's just going to be full of whingers I might just ignore the thread and wait for the album to be released and enjoy it in peace and quiet. ;)

Too much Cody cum in those ears.

I really still don't understand the constant 'hate' for her vocals every time she releases an album. bit predictable if you ask me, but each to their own... I have heard 100 times worse over the years to be honest . she's certainly no Ann Wilson, but neither is she terrible. That being said, bar a couple of tracks that are pretty good on here, this is pretty run of the mill stuff and compared  to the Chez Kane album  it gets destroyed. 'Crossfire' is still her defining album which was really good with the Martin Bros. involvement

the vocals are ok actually, but as mentioned the songs are also just OK.

Chez Kane absolutely destroys this imo.

Agreed with everything you said here. Good/bad songwriting and production will make or break most albums, especially studio projects. Issa is a prime example of that.

I can see how her vocals grate on some but they were fine on Crossfire...

Yep, basically agree with every thing you say here. Except maybe I'm a bit fonder of the album. I think it's really quite a good album. I don't mind the heavier kind of feel to it, as that's where she came from with her debut. If anything, I think this is probably her most guitar orientated album, with some pretty cool guitar work on here. There's not actually a song I dislike on this, to be honest. Admittedly it's nothing ground breaking, but it's good.

I was also thinking how much 'Crossfire' stands out in her discography, though, and that ironically it's probably her "softest" album. But it's pure class.

Anyway, agreed that it's a far cry off that super Chez Kane disc.

    • Not much information on the video's page, other than it appears to be an AI creation. Once it gets into the verse and especially the chorus, it's actually not too bad IMO.
    • While I appreciate your interest in contributing to the site, most of the artists and albums you are submitting are either REALLLLLLY stretching the boundaries, or as in the case of this band, completely off the mark. No alternagrunge. No punk. No death metal/power metal (although those can be submitted to Brutal Metal). You can always start a thread asking about a particular artist before blindly submitting it for inclusion. Thanks! -Dan
