Magic Dance - Remnants

New song 'Restless Nights'.

Long Island’s Magic Dance will return with their new album, “Remnants” on December 4, 2020. This album offers up more of the band’s signature ‘80s influenced sound that they are now known for, but at the same time brings a distinct contemporary edge. Performed with absolute genuine emotion and conviction, it’s hard not to be swept up and carried away in these mesmerizing songs. The power of the melodies and the entrancing sound really stick with the listener throughout the entire album.

Magic Dance is the solo project of singer/songwriter Jon Siejka, formed in Long Island, NY in 2012 as an outlet for his synthwave songs. A self-taught musician and producer, the project is heavily influenced by the iconic synth-pop and movie soundtrack music of the ‘80s, as is par for the course with synthwave. Recently, the sound has evolved into a heavier and more guitar-oriented style, leaning more towards classic AOR, with strong hints of the sounds of the mid ‘80s.

Magic Dance’s debut for the Frontiers label, “New Eyes”, was the third proper album from Siejka, which offered ten superb songs infused with sparkling keys, energetic riffs, and catchy and very memorable hooks. If not for the modern production, one might have thought they were listening to something straight out of the ‘80s!

WARNING: This record is extremely addictive and you will be compulsively singing along in no time!

Haha, love the shirt in the clip and the song, 'Restless Nights.'

I love all this guy's stuff and this will be no different. I actually heard about 4 or 5 songs from this already and was really surprised at the lyrical theme - all of them about zombies and horror movie themes etc. Sounded like a soundtrack to a new Friday The 13th film. Hard to connect lyrically, but the songs were nice.

All his stuff is real nice. I'm not going to say it's not samey - we can all hear it is - but it's a kind of samey I can handle. I'd rather endless songs like this than him varying it up and recording shit. If it ain't broke don't fix it. :)

This is his first album and best, the second one was not so good:

This is actually his second album, with "The Mirror of Dreams" coming before this.  And then an EP, "Another World" coming before that.

You're right, though, "Vanishings" is really good.

I went down a rabbit hole yesterday after posting in this thread and I'm now a big fan of Magic Dance.  Great stuff.

Oh my!!! This is so catchy!!!! And I add myself as another fan of this guy. Vanishing is phenomenal. His first album also. Just listening. I also discovered LeBrock yesterday. Another great artist. Especially "Real thing" EP and song called Interstellar. Synth wave meets AOR type of thing. Pure magic for ears.

Liking this a hell of lot better than the New Eyes disc, which for me anyway was a disappointment, this new release however has grabbed my attention considerably more...btw the artwork/concept of this new disc  is excellent.

Never thought I'd say this about Magic Dance, as their best songs are so instantly classic... but this album is awesome, for different reasons. On first spin, I dug the songs. But on that first spin, I could already tell this was going to be a grower, in a good way. The hooks aren't quite as instant, even though they're there in abundance.

I think this is a really, really good album... as expected. Love this, and looking forward to those hooks embedding themselves in my skull with every continued listen. Love the drums and full band feel too, with some killer guitar. All boxes ticked for me.
