From Frontiers:

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of the Swedish melodic rock combo RIAN to a multi-album deal! The first release will be the band's sophomore album, “Twenty-Three,” which is currently taking shape under the direction of producer Daniel Flores (Find Me, The Murder Of My Sweet).

The new songs were written during 2018-2020 and based on melodies and lyrics written by vocalist/guitarist Richard Andermyr. The initial ideas from Richard were crafted into songs that the band arranged together: first with Richard and drummer Jan Johannsson and later on with the full band.

RIAN released their debut album “Out Of The Darkness” in July 2017, which was well received by fans and melodic rock media alike. The band made its live debut during 2018, which began the process of the band becoming more and more of a live unit. Add the amazing lead guitars of Tobias Jakobsson into the mix with the band and you have the cocktail that makes up the RIAN 2.0 sound.

"We are really pleased to sign with Frontiers Music Srl. Since our first contact, the label has been nothing but helpful. We feel right at home with the support we’ve received so far and look forward to using this relationship to enable us to provide our fans with a steady supply of quality music for the years to come. Our sound can, in the easiest way, be explained as a modern version of classic melodic rock music, the way it was produced in the second half of the 80’s. The sound is American, but the melodies and chord progressions have very strong Swedish roots. Influences such as Bon Jovi, Dokken, Europe, Queensryche, Survivor, and Winger can be heard in the sound. Also, more modern vibes the likes of Alter Bridge have a presence in our music,” explains Richard Andermyr.

Keep an eye out for RIAN’s return in the coming months!

Band Members:
Richard Andermyr: Vocals, Guitar
Jan Johansson: Drums
Jonas Melin: Bass
Tobias Jakobsson: Lead Guitar

The debut was solid.  With a tour under their belt and addition of a new guitarist I'm interested in hearing what the new album will sound like.  Flores usually does a nice job with production but his involvement could be a mixed blessing.  Some of the albums he's worked on recently have started sounding a bit too similar, in my opinion.

I like the song but I feel like the chorus doesn't quite match the intro to the song.  The intro has a much heavier sound and kinda sets the expectation of a different song than we end up getting.  Still like it and definitely can't wait to hear the album.  The first one was really good.

Nice. Three great songs. Bring this album to my ears asap please.

Nice but ridiculous lyrics.

You can if you're FM... if they can ever play live again.

Good, super consistent album. These guys remind me a lot of The Radio Sun. Not identical in style or anything, but they have a formula and stick to it throughout the album without really belting out a clear cut album highlight, but also not producing anything poor either. Solid.

    • I'm with you and think it might be similar for me. I always loved H.E.A.T with Erik and was pretty much a Kenny basher as I wasn't a fan of those first 2 albums at all.  I had very low expectations and really didn't think I'd care much for new music with Kenny.  Anyways, I've slowly come around on Kenny as the singles were released and I'm enjoying the new album.  Yeah, it's not exciting me quite as much as the Gronwall albums did but Kenny sounds excellent to my ears and I'm having no issues with sound or production.  Just sounds like some good melodic hard rock to me.
    • Yeah, at the moment he's the only option for me here. A few guys I'm not really interested in and although EM was everywhere a few years ago, he definitely appears to have settled down recently. If anything, wouldn't mind seeing his name pop up a little more these days, though it's fine as is.
    • I've been a bit let down by recent albums but the genuine anticipation I feel for new material from these guys means they must have done something right through the years. Would absolutely love it if they unexpectedly hit another homerun.

    • Another greatest hits album! And even worse, live greatest hits: JACKYL : 30 Coming In Hot +3 New Tracks (2022) BY BANNED WEBSITE · PUBLISHED AUGUST 13, 2022   When many classic hard rock-related acts from their generation succumbed to trends, JACKYL has been strong & healthy for more than 3 decades. Now 2022 JACKYL are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their platinum debut album with the release of a new best-of collection titled ”30 Coming In Hot”. There has been a ‘best of’ from the band some years ago but this one is different: ”30 Coming In Hot” includes their best songs this time performed live, where they truly showcase their power, plus 3 brand new studio tracks. JACKYL earned two Guinness Book of World Records citations and the designation “The Hardest Working Band in Rock ‘N’ Roll” for performing 100 shows in 50 days as well as 21 shows in 24 hours. Yeah, JACKYL born to play live, and ”30 Coming In Hot” is really ‘hot’ indeed. Very well recorded, mixed & produced, the set is very, very good and entertaining, and you have 3 new songs to enjoy as well. • I have no real opinion on the band's schtick. I do have an opinion on their earlier albums - they contained a lot of good songs. The last few... not so. Hope they can pull something out here but expectations aren't high
