New Member Group: In Memoriam... Those No Longer With Us

Recommended Posts

I probably should have done this when the first of our members passed away, but Tim's passing reminded me that I should do this.

I've created a special user group for board members who have passed away. I've also added a "Member List" page at the top.

I'm only aware of 3 members that have passed, although it's quite possible I've forgotten some:

Tim

staryder1

Bubbasmama

I'm deliberately excluding Lanny Holdaway as he ripped off many people here and was banned from the forum.

Here is a link to the group:

https://heavyharmonies.ipbhost.com/search/?&type=core_members&joinedDate=any&group[22]=1

And the group icon:

memorial2.jpg

If I have forgotten anyone, please let me know.

Thanks,

-Dan

You know something Dan, I've never really been a member of a serious forum I contributed to for any length of time outside this one, oh and G-Offs rock hard linx forum, but I can't imagine the board runners and owners have even a slight of the care and sincerity you do for the members of your forum, I just got to say, I know I'm not your favorite member, or even your 2nd to the last favorite, but the way you moderate this thing, and the fact u some how recruited G-Off to be a contributor, makes HH one of its kind, and you proving my point, by making this new thread, tells alot bro, your a good dude(no homo) I hope the others here notice this and get what I'm saying here. Does anyone belong to any other forums? Are they as tight nit as HH?

I appreciate the sentiment, thanks for that. It's a comparatively small group of regulars here any more, as interest in this particular hobby wanes over time, but for the most part it's good folks.

Well said mate and I wholeheartedly agree. This is the first and only forum I've been a member of and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience here. BTW, very nice touch with the new thread Dan.

Your post reminded me of Negan, and that kind of sucks because if anyone should be Negan it should be me, because he is awesome.

Tor me, thie really is the only forum left.
The earlier ones I were in all died, some developed into new ones, which then died.
Evenyually i ended up at SleazeRoxx forum, and then they killed that. in fact one of more people are weird there now that skid is gone. I disagreed with a SR facebook post and someone got way too butt hurt compared to the comment I made.

So this is my music home now.
Really I am here to know about the new realeases and new music coming my way so i don't miss it.
But it does lean a fair way to AOR for me, but beggars can't be choosers and hopefully I am able to pretty much ignore most AOR stuff rather than post negatively about it.
every now and they you'll see me post 'syrupy synth' as a quick way to describe how I feel about it, but on the whole I try to respect that we all don't like that same stuff.

As for the RIP thread, hopefully the corona virus doesn't devestate this place.

Just wanted to add that even though I've never been a member of other forums, I'm still well aware of them all and the knowledge, information, respect and dare I say comradery of this group is a special thing. It's a great sanctuary. Having the best "our music" database on the main site isn't too shabby either.

This is the only forum I bother with as most of the others have too many idiots... the only place to find new music IMO... although I agree with CureTheSane that it leans farther into AOR than I care for but that is okay as I try to stay open minded about music...hopefully everyone here will remain safe and healthy....

Thank you, Mike. I knew there was another and I even got as far as remembering their user name started with an F. But I couldn't track down who I was thinking of.

Rest in peace, all mentioned in this thread.

Very touching what you wrote Dan,.

Even great that you going start a new group, not many other music forums would go out their way to do similar.

Cheers to all.

I've been gone from here for a very long time. Marla was the reason I found this board in the first place. Quite shocked to find this thread tonight.

In addition to Danny Vaughn, as you know, she also loved this song:

    • I wrote this awhile back called Tossed Salad: There is a fetish all across the land And it's not only for the gay gay man Some men that like it hard and fast They also like a tongue in their ass She was going down on me And licking on my balls Then she went down in between And then further down the hall. And my frown went upside down When her tongue turned into brown My fears were not really valid I liked when she tossed my salad. When she was licking my anus I thought she could be famous She knew just what to do To make me shoot my goo.
    • Personally I try to get my news from many sources so that I can see issues from all sides...I think the Trump supporters are maybe too close to the issues to see clearly and those that think Trump walks on water and can do no wrong will never change their opinions no matter what he does ... maybe it is easier for those of us on the outside looking in to weigh the issues or maybe we are all biased depending on our influences growing up....
    • One thing I'm 100% sure of ....I'm very grateful that I'm not black and living in any country that is white dominated....the racism may be more obvious in the US but it exists here in Canada too.... somehow we need to educate everyone about one simple fact...there is only one race and that is the human race....
    • Review from cgcmpodcast.com (by Trevor “Psychoone” McDougall): Back To The 80s In a day that EPs are the thing to do, it’s easy to miss them.  They appear, and then poof! They’re gone. Fortunately, I found this one, and the cover caught my eye. As most of the readers know, I am a HUGE fan of that ’80s sound, and era, and this one seemed right in my wheelhouse. A Brief Background Born from the ashes of the group Miss December, The Rocket Queen gang is heavily influenced by the sounds of the ’80s & ’90s.  Hailing from Zaragoza, Spain, Dolly Glam (Vocals), Gabi Bultaco (Guitar), Gaby Gonzalez (Guitar) Arturo Millán (Bass) and Carmelo Echarri (Drums) first entered the studio in 2015 to record their first EP titled First Round. Since then, like many other bands, they went through some lineup changes and have continued to work in festivals and concerts with many well-known artists. 4 Tracks of ’80s Awesomeness Back to the 80s is a four-track EP that has those sound bites that any fan of the genre craves.  Slick guitars, slamming drums, killer bass lines, and slick, harmonic vocals. The title track has it all. Female vocals could sit along with other female vocalists such as Lee Aaron and Lita Ford just to name a few. “Little Treasures” follows the title track with leading drums and a great attack from duelling guitars. The production of this EP is worth a mention here as well!  Nothing seems to be buried and it’s very slick without being overdone. Side Two “Broken Heart” is another great track featuring some stellar guitar work, not to detract from the rest of the group, however. Aside from the riffs, and pinch harmonics, the drums are pounding here, and the vocals are above reproach. This very well could be a personal favourite from the EP. Rounding out this EP is “Feel the Night”.  Yet another great ending to an EP. Energetic, and fist-pounding! This track is single-worthy representing everything that the band says they are influenced by. This track just oozes the ’80s and is a great way to end an EP leaving the listener wanting more!  Great job! Psycho-Babble One can only hope that this is a taste of a possible full-length album from Rocket Queen. If this is the sound that they have, then I do want more. However, knowing the industry, and how bands have to raise the money to record these days, I’m truly praying that this EP sells well, and creates a buzz to be able to raise those funds!  Until then, I’ll just sit, raise my fist in the air, and go Back To The 80s!   Band: Dolly Glam – Vocals Gabi Bultaco – Guitars Gaby Gonzalez – Guitars Arturo Millán – Bass Carmelo Echarri – Drums   facebook
    • Why is it serious, now? No disrespect to the officers who lost their lives in this, but why is it only serious now? And, yeah, it is difficult to separate the peaceful protesters from the "thugs." Especially when some of those "thugs" are wearing a badge. That's the whole point.
    • Just thought I'd bump this after starting to see some positive reviews and knowing that the band has started sending out pre-orders early. Couple reviews: https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Wicked-Smile-Delirium-EP http://lifemusicmedia.com/ep-review-wicked-smile-delirium/?fbclid=IwAR3gsUF7TFpSGcrpmfrq_uqGEs2VNcSbBrwAvggCQ21gKDULyF03Xg8kHsk Looking forward to getting this one as I've really dug the first two songs.   Reminds me of 80's era Judas Priest mixed with Skid Row or something.  I'm generally not huge into "heavy metal" and honestly don't even visit that part of the forum frequently lol.  But I always dug Turbo era Judas Priest as they got more melodic then.  And of course loved Skid Row's debut.  And that where I see this fitting in....sorta heavy metal vibe but still melodic with hooks.       I don't think I've ever had an EP in my top 10 year end list but I see that changing this year with Shriaz Lane's Vibration and this release.  Hopefully a full album isn't too far off
    • Your second amendment is there to ensure the people have weapons available to defend themselves against the government having learned from the days when we ruled you that sometimes those in power aren't the good guys.  I'm curious. At what point would it be OK for 'the people' to be rise against the government?  When I was at School our English teacher spent a lesson on the Irish troubles.  This is back in the day when there was a real threat at any time of a Bomb planted by the IRA blowing you up. He came from the Irish point of view as he had relatives on the Republican side. Was a really difficult conversation but enlightening.  Perhaps think why all these people are so upset.
    • the UK and the US prob had the worst and slowest reaction to the pandemic. Sad but true.  Now trump has cut funding to WHO which is ridiculous.
    • most news channels.  but it's pretty easy to see that the situation is bad. multiple instances of peaceful protests being run down.  not good  & Trump tweeting 'get tough police' today is not helping bearing in mind what led to this.
    • No he's a blowhard, his own party is constantly telling him to shut it, but tell me this, how do you separate the peaceful protesters from the thugs? they blend in with the thugs, tonight a 2 cops were killed, now the shits serious, common sense says anyone who is truly there to protest will abide by the curfew laws, and leave, and that's what happened in Atlanta, but it's nothing to do with Trump, he kept his mouth shut for the most part, now that police are being targeted, watch, it's going to get rough, but the police are racist if they defend themselves, Trump has kept it entertaining, because the media is always trying to set him up, I'm not even a republican, I'm a libertarian, but I do not like where the left is trying to take things, I wouldn't say Trump is a conservative, he's a business man, not a politician, the sad thing is, he's done a lot for the black community, I can give you examples if you care, they just don't want it, cause it would mean work, and Sambora, how do you react to a pandemic? don't know if there's a guide for that, I think he did good, he just as you said, needs to stop shooting his mouth off, but the circus is to entertaining.
