Since Halloween, restrictions have been slowly lifted. Restaurants were allowed to serve at 75% capacity. Back down to 25% capacity again.

Yeah, it sounds and looks like you're dealing with it as we are. Not a drastically different approach. Not enough to warrant such a huge difference in numbers. I always just assumed that your larger population accounted for it, but obviously not. I don't get it.

The weather has gotten a lot colder too. People are indoors more.

Yeah, but we had our Winter in June/July/August and our numbers weren't too bad. Also, if it's getting cold and people are indoors more often, then you'd expect to see lower numbers, wouldn't you?

I really don't get it.

The measures put in place here a far more severe than what is in place in Maryland.
We were only allowed out of home for 1 hour per day to go shopping or exercise for a couple of months.
We had acurfew 8pm to 5am.
Fies were issued. etc etc

And those measures worked and got the numbers back to zreo new cases for the last 17 days.
So they fixed the major fuckup our state government made in allowing the second wave.
But I'm not going to mention how sucky the measures are that are still in place here as some think I should just deal with it and be thankful that we are doing well.
Of course I am, but apparently I have nothing to complain about...

Simply a state leader doing all he could to fix his massive fuck up.
Only reason it worked was that Australians seems to be happy to do whatever thaey are told (on the most part)
Like I said earlier, in the US, or most other countries, the public would never obey like we did.
In the end it was a good thing to be simps to the leaders, as it got the results, but they would be outrage overseas, with rights and constitution, and protests, and riots etc etc

Overall, we are luck, we are an island/continent/country.
We have much more control than somewhere like Europe.
Same with New Zealand, Fiji, etc

That's what I'd like to know.

Alpha, what exactly have been the measures/restrictions put in place in Maryland?

With case rates and hospitalization numbers climbing statewide, Hogan tightened coronavirus restrictions, returning indoor restaurant service to 50% capacity — down from 75%. He also “strongly” discouraged gatherings of more than 25 people and travel to states with similarly surging COVID-19 metrics.

Several jurisdictions have tightened restrictions further. Here’s where things stand:

Anne Arundel County: Starting Friday, gatherings will be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. Starting Monday, youth sports will be canceled. Starting Nov. 20, restaurants will be limited to 25% capacity. Other facilities, such as religious and retail establishments, can continue to operate at 50% capacity.

Baltimore City: As of Thursday, all indoor and outdoor facilities, including restaurants, gyms and theaters, must not exceed 25% capacity. All bars that don’t serve food must shut down, and all restaurants must close by 11 p.m. No more than 10 people will be permitted to gather in homes.

Baltimore County: Starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, all gatherings not related to operating or patronizing businesses already subject to state orders will be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors and all bars and restaurants will be required to close at midnight. Beginning Tuesday, all youth recreational sports, indoor and outdoor, will be prohibited.

Harford County: Starting Friday, county facilities will close to the public, including indoor parks and recreation facilities. Organized outdoor activities on county fields, including sports tournaments, will be suspended, although county parks will remain open. County employees will be authorized to telework until further notice.

Montgomery County: As of Tuesday, restaurants, gyms, museums, retail establishments and religious facilities were all limited to 25% capacity. For other businesses, such as bowling alleys and hair and nail salons, capacity is limited to 25% or 25 people, whichever is lower. Gatherings of more than 25 people are prohibited.

Prince George’s County: Starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, restaurants will be limited to 25% capacity, down from 50% capacity. No more than 25 people will be permitted to gather outdoors, and no more than 10 indoors. Gyms and bowling alleys will be at 25% capacity, but large retails stores still will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity. Everyone is to wear masks outdoors unless exercising.

Not a huge departure from what we've been doing. A little late perhaps. Having different restrictions in different counties doesn't help either.

Restrictions had been eased over the last 2 months. We are now going backwards.

Folks I cooked scallops and shrimp tonight for dinner, I ate the whole fucking meal myself, and didn't taste a single flavor, not one, so I'm on the verge of postal, I had a PBJ at like 11am, tasted that, tasted the Guinness and the Mt. Dew, now it's like somebody sliced my taste buds off, it's fucking aggravating, not as aggravating as the money I spent on awesome groceries to keep myself eating and interested, all of which now I will leave and I guess just go with Ramen and $1 TV Dinners, FUCK!! this shit is a mother fucker!

Well there's absolutely no doubt about it, this aint any fuckin fun, it actually blows, I cant smell or taste anything, I have zero energy, that's putting it nicely, and yesterday I didn't dare leave the bathroom, I eventually just took a TV in there and camped out, but I'm nowhere close to being as sick right now as I felt last night, I dare to eat, and had to tonight, I think the worst thing about this shit is that unlike the flu, this doesn't make me so fucking rundown and exhausted, I just sleep the shit away, nope, fell asleep around 2am and woke up at 8am, last night fell out around 1am and woke up about 4:30am, if I can get a good chunk of sleep in, I actually think i'd feel better, but I definitely don't feel like usual, didn't even want to get online till just now, so fuck it, I'm not dead, Yet!

So we can tell you to "EAT SHIT!" and you'll be like, "ok man, whatever. Bring it on!"

Hang in there!

Well bro, I can honestly say, if shit has that wonderful texture, I would probably blow chunks before I even got it in my mouth, as far as tasting it, I can literally taste nothing, i just tried splashing Saracha on my tongue to see if I could taste it, nope, tabasco, nope, it did start to burn, it's pretty irrelevant what I eat or drink, so I'm keeping it to the cheapest shit I have, which probably isnt going to get me better any quicker, I'm so fucking bored.

Way late to the party, but sounds pretty shit, Cody. Good luck with it, cob. How's the rest of your family going... the ones who had it too? Everyone doing okay-ish?

Why thanks G-Off, and bro, I can tell you that I have 3 brothers, 2 are cops, those are the only 2 people in my immediate family who have not tested positive for it yet, ironic right, they are dealing and interacting with people daily, and they stayed in their house while their family's had to quarantine, and they still haven't tested positive, my daughter and her mom are ok after tomorrow, everyone else is still Quarantined, thanks for asking bro.

This one's quite compelling. I really feel for this guy. You can hear the utter desperation and frustration in his voice.

It makes you question the reason behind this massive, largely untested "new" vaccine push.

It's still a huge NO for me.

what is the drug called? i wonder how long he would recommend people take it for? Forever? this virus could never go or be eradicated.  And what are the side effects of this drug ? There has been no wide spread trial.

I guess we will know soon enough as thousands have already been vaccinated in the UK.

I get the worry....it doesn't fill me with glee, but I've seen loads of different consultants on the TV now from different countries basically saying it's harmless.

however I must admit the Oxford vaccine sounds better as this is just like a flu jab but the test trial was not quite effective
