Bridgesss

What are some bridges you wish came a thousand times in a song? I love bridges, but of course they only sadly come once or maybe twice. Mine are This One by Whitecross, True Confessions by Tonio K., No Way I'm Going Down by Whitecross, The Lion's Den by Guardian, & the words to Petra's bridge in Fools Gold, are amazing.

Now, mine all happen to be Christian Rock but obviously they don't have to be. I love bridges---:P

I love a good bridge / pre-chorus, often more than the chorus.

The best of all time, though, absolutely has to be this;

Quoted for truth. That is probably literally the best ever recorded.

Another one I'd put in the top three of all time;

Still remember Mike Portnoy stating that   they would have never release my all time favorite DT tune with my all time favorite bridge... Good luck, Mike Portnoy with your latest DT clone with that lousy Bruce Dickinson falsetto... :lol::lol::lol:

a pre chorus is a bridge isn't it :screwy:

I always thought a pre chorus was the section between the verse and the chorus, hence the name. Whereas a bridge was the middle section in a song connecting the beginning and the end, hence the name.

That's the part I've been noticing in the songs you're posting.

oh in that case I've been posting pre choruses lol

They are essentially the same thing. I was just being pedantic. I would say a pre chorus is a type of bridge connecting the verse to the chorus, but a bridge doesn't necessarily have to be before a chorus.

Here's a couple of examples of what I consider bridges followed by another Roxus track with a great pre chorus. How "Body Heat" never made it to the album I will never know.

Best bridge ever is in Warrant’s I Saw Red just before the solo.

”I’ve been hurt and I’ve been blind....”

I love a great bridge and this one is what I define as a great bridge.

i like the one in This One by Whitecross ~This One gave all of heavens glory for you~ & Tonio K.'s True Confessions. The melody is better than the words though.

Another great pre chorus. I think being a Lead Vocalist/Drummer has got to be incredibly difficult. You could get away with it in the studio, but live is another story. I've never seen Von Groove live, but it would be interesting.

    • Ordered Saturday, arrived today. Wasn't expecting them that quickly. I especially like the stickered custom-fitted protective mailer that the Live at Budokan Tokyo 1983 set came in, protecting it from being banged against other merchandise in the carton. Very nicely priced (see my threads in the deals section).
    • Filthy Rich - Too Hot for Love
    • Awesome! I got my copy last week. About a year ago, they said announced that they were re-recording their songs, but I'm not sure if they're still doing it.
    • They released a double best of, Ultimate Hits and double CD of Masterpieces two years ago.
    • Yeah pretty good band,the cd is hard to find , I got the demo recordings cd they released on Street Legacy back in 2013.
    • "Suspicious Heart" by Van Stephenson
    • I wound up picking this one up as well, and I must say, this has been a most pleasant surprise. Very good melodic rock/AOR throughout, and gets better with each listen. Not sure why they haven't released "Midnight Lady" as a single/video, as it is far and away the best track on the album... IMO of course.
    • This one is really good honestly, 10 songs, pretty much all their big hits. Very concise.
    • I think most people know my stance on these two. I love LA Guns and think Tracii is one of the best guitarists to come out of the hair metal scene, and while I like Stryper I have really gone off them due to Michaels compulsion to release new material every second Wednesday. I have not bought the last 2 or 3 Stryper albums, and a bunch of other stuff he is involved in because of this. Hell, didnt even pick the first Sunbomb album up til early this year and only then it was because I got it for £5 instead of the usual £13 to £15 that Frontiers CDs usually cost. That album did not impress me. Musically it was tight but Sweets vocals were pretty "meh", and sounds like they are gonna be even worse on this album. Have to agree to what has already been said, but I can barely even understand what he is singing. Now while I am fine with listening to foreign language songs, if a singers native tongue is English, I wanna be able to understand what he is singing. Fuck me, there are death metal bands out there easier to understand than this. If I didnt know the song title, I would think it was called I'm bating bulls yeah
