I'm still not a fan at all. Still lukewarm about the album as a whole, to be honest. But I'm glad to see others getting more from it than I. As one of my favourite bands, I like to see them enjoying success even if it's not necessarily one I can participate in. It's a nice album for me, but I'm not overly drawn to it, unfortunately. :(

Been listening to this one a lot the last couple days and it's really grown on me.  Feels like a continuation of "Ghost of Graceland", which was an incredible album.  This one is just a hair below that.  Lots of great tracks with "Man Overboard" being my current favorite right now.  Great stuff.

Drinking my Beaujolais nouveau (Vive La France for your beautiful traditions!!!!!) while spinning them back to back on vinyl (Jaysus, sound is incredible on both vinyls!!!!) and still GOC wipes the floor with Tunguska(what a waste of a great title, btw!). B)

I was actually spinning it on Thursday/Friday too and stand by my comments. Solid album, but easily the weakest of their last three. Really missing some knock-out blows. But solid.

Agreed. It's by far the weakest of the last 3. None of it is bad per se, but there isn't any killers on it.

no killers? you lot are mad.

At least half the album is killer

I'll join you here.....for me it's my favorite of the last 3 albums.

All great and all 90+ albums, but I just really dig the new one.  There's really nothing on it I dislike whereas there's 2-3 songs on each of the previous couple albums I didn't care much for.

Okay. I must give a re-review of this since I've been playing it quite a bit.

The thing about this release, the second half of the album is much better than the first IMO.

I like the opener "Progenitors". Solid tune with a memorable chorus.

It's the next 4 or 5 tracks that are good but nothing amazing. Not filler but definitely not killer.

Once we get to the single "Build The Love" and the subsequent tracks "Man Overboard" and "Riptide", the rest are more in line with what I want to hear from Treat.

My scores:

Progenitors                 7.75/10
Always Have, Always Will     7.5/10
Best Of Enemies             7.25/10
Rose Of Jericho               7/10
Heartmath City               7.5/10
Creeps                      6.75/10
Build The Love              7.75/10
Man Overboard                 8/10
Riptide                       8/10
Tomorrow Never Comes        7.75/10
All Bets Are Off              7/10
Undefeated                  7.75/10

75%

Always Have, Always Will
Rose Of Jericho
Heartmath City

I have the Japanese version of this album and it contains a pet peeve of mine:

The bonus "acoustic" track that's basically the same thing as the original track.  Yeah, it's "different" but c'mon.  An acoustic version of a ballad that's already basically a piano track?

That's pretty much what my list would look like though I'd probably ditch "Tomorrow Never Comes".

Obviously the pr-song ratings differ a little, but I also have this album currently rated at 75%.

For the record, and by comparison, I rated 'Coup De Grace' @ 87% and 'GOG' @ 84%.

'Creeps' is okay at absolute best. Just listening now and it just feels like the entire band is holding back in those verses. Weak verses. Hmmm, yeah, the chorus leaves a lot to be desired too. Weak lyrics and yeah, whether I like/dislike or am indifferent about it, it's actually quite a bad song. If it wasn't Treat I admit I'd probably absolutely hate it, lol.

    • I posed him that exact question on his discord page as to what his future plans are.... He said he plans to relax for a bit, do his You Tube thing, keep writing new music and then will decide how to release that music.  He said as of now he's thinking he'll either do a solo thing or form his own band.  He didn't say this but I'd sort of envision a Daughtry type "band" where he kind of puts a band behind his name. So essentially, I think you're right on with his plans.  Ultimately, I think like you say, the control is a big part of it.  I think he wants to be able to operate on his own schedule to maintain his health and family obligations. It'll be interesting to see what sound the new material takes on.  It would seem logical to think it would be rock/melodic rock of some sort since that's really the type of music he's built his following with but he certainly has shown he can dabble anywhere from AOR to metal.
    • Glad I got to see them with Erik in front. All the best to him, definitely looking forward to his future outings when he is fully recovered. Would be cool to see him form his own band, where he could take control, and play around in different genres, from full on metal, to soothing AOR, the guy is so versatile.
    • Remedy - Crying Heart. One I've just seen thanks to the Iridium channel.  From the upcoming album. It's a Killer.
    • Let's not forget Benny Hill. What a Magnificent show that was.
    • Yeah... I dunno about that. It would be too cringe. Who knows? If I'm high enough, I might submit a video.
    • Yep great track and if you fancy being in the video for "The Feeling" nows your chance.
    • I'm proud to say that I had this single when I was a mere 8 years old. KISS were big down here then. Norman Gunston is Iconic for Aussies of my vintage.  The face ln the bottom left says it all. Hilarious.
    • All in all, this is a great story. Erik played a brilliant, well received, albeit short cameo with one of our favourite bands.  It was a win, win, win. A win for us, a win for Skid Row (the album certainly put them back on the map) and a win for Erik, adding this to his already impressive resume. The fact that it was so amicable with both parties is also great to see.
    • I really like this album - not every song on it but there are some surprisingly catchy melodies all over. Personally I think the singer adds great energy to the mix. It reminds me of the earlier Bai Bang ("closer to you")
