new tune sounds pretty good, here is hoping there are few hidden gems on the album, because while the songs released so far have been solid, I don't think any are as memorable as my favorites from Rest in Sleaze or Generation Wild

Sounds quite good to me too. Not really what I was expecting at all, but a good tune. I'll take that.

I didn't know these were manufactured anymore. Is there really a market for them?

Bundles available : http://bit.ly/rust-dietrec

The Story

Our first minidisc release ever ;). A little pricey maybe but we're only making 100 copies, and they're not particularly cheap to produce these days.

Enjoy them while they last ;).

Well that's pretty damn good. I don't like the pre-chrous nor the end of the chorus... but for the most part it delivers the goods. Cool tune. Nice Motley Crue vibe.

Dr. Feelgood-ish. I love the live version of this. This studio version is not as good IMO. Still sounds like CrashDiet.

Still stoked to hear this new album!!

Listen to the difference live (in case you missed it)

the live version sounds the same to me.

decent song but really this pales against stuff like Down with the Dust.

A lot more polished and fluffy in the studio IMO.

This all sounds very average to me and a farcry from the Generation wild album

an even further cry from Rest in Sleaze.

Not loving the new image either tbh. Too teen goth angst distopian look.

This is a really disappointing album. It had such promise. The vocals are fine. It's the songs....... they just aren't that great.

To tell you the truth, most of the time you'd never even know that it's Crashdiet.

A few really good tracks but for the most part, bog average. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

My initial take:

Rust 7.5/10 ruined by pre-chorus
Into The Wild 9/10 Crazy Lixx-ish chorus; best track
Idiots 7.5/10 Pretty average
In The Maze 8/10 Solid mid-tempo track
We Are The Legion 7.5/10 Pretty good lead track
Crazy 6/10 Yuck don't like this at all
Parasite 8.5/10 Very good track
Waiting For Your Love 7/10 Atmospheric weird track
Reptile 7.5/10 Okay... kinda average
Stop Weirding Me Out 7/10 Average
Filth & Flowers 7/10 Average

Agree completely with pretty much all of this

I heard into the wild and thought maybe this was gonna be good after all but no

As you say it's not terrible but it's just not great , definitely their weakest album imo

I quite enjoyed it actually.

was better than I was expecting.

a solid 8/10 from me.

The only track I'd skip is Waiting for you love.....That didn't work well for me

I think the track order hurts this album.

    • How To Talk To Girls At Parties ~ Wow, where'd this 2016 movie come from? Really good film and not in any way shape or form associated with the title which has no relevance to the film. Super eclectic but not in that Portland trying to be weird way by screaming it in peoples faces that your weird to try and convince everyone even though your not. Period 70's movie centering around some punk rockers that stumble upon a "party" but everyone there are aliens, unbeknownst to the 3 boys. Crazy ensues there after with a very cool sappy ending. Well worthy a watch imho.
    • Exactly what I have been thinking too haha. I love the Marcello/Vestry album more than TMF and The Defiants' debut albums. Personally I find it even better than most DD albums. It's one of my fave melodic rock albums of all time.
    • Ha! I actually made some comments in that thread. Completely forgot about it.

    • 4 tracks from the debut 7 from Freedom Rock 4 from Address The Nation 5 from TDTW 6 from ITGU plus Drink Alone
    • Sounds very U2 to me, which I don't mind
    • I would appreciate if you guys could answer the following question : Has anyone heard the GUIRO (if you don't know what it is please google it) in "Love Is The Killer"? And does it bother you? I just noticed it while listening to the album with headphones. They already used a guiro on the debut ("Waiting On A Heartbreak") which I thought was strange at first but it's only during the chorus and I've since gotten used to it. But this time they really went overboard with it it's so irritating. You can hear it throughout the entire verses and the solo...  Edit: it's also on U X'd my heart, although a bit more subtle. What's the fascination with this (sorry to say) useless instrument? The only thing it does is ruin a perfectly good song
    • Nice song but not completely blown away by it. Out of the first singles/videos they have released so far for each album except Artwork, this new one is my least favourite. Hope the rest are all gems.
    • On this week's episode of everyone's favorite soap opera "Changing of Seasons" - guitarist Pav leaves the band before their US tour and and release of the new Album in October
